Great for families, this two-story log cabin offers that much-needed rustic charm that will surely help you leave all of your worries behind. Consisting of a main bedroom and two bedrooms, the open floor plan will be great for gatherings as it combines the kitchen, living room, and dining area together–no one will ever feel left out here! If you visit during cold months, the gas fireplace will keep everyone warm in the blink of an eye. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances needed to surprise your group with tasty and warm meals. Wind down in the large and snuggly sofa and watch your favorite TV shows, or challenge your group to any of the board games available–boredom doesn't stand a chance here! If you'd like more of solo time, you can grab any book you like and head over to the patio to read. Plus, there is an extended driveway that is perfect for accommodating multiple vehicles or trailers with ATVs, snowmobiles, or other toys you may want to bring along!

Happy Place Cabin is located on a quiet, private street with walking access to Río Grande river where you can try your hand at rafting, tubing, kayaking, and fishing! Downtown South Fork is less than two miles away where you can find a great variety of restaurants and stores. The popular Wolf Creek Ski Area is 25 miles away–skiers and snowboarders should totally take advantage of the proximity! Plus, the home backs up to the National Forest and the lot is perfect for sledding in the winter.

Cozy but roomy

This cabin was so cozy and comfortable. We had 7 stay and there was more than enough room for all of us. It's very well maintained and had a great fire pit (we never built a fire but wanted to!). Communication was easy and we really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect getaway spot!

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin is at the foot of the mountain and just so peaceful. We always feel at home when we stay here. Highly recommend!

South Fork family vacation

Beautiful property! Near Rio Grande but no access to Rio Grande, had to drive avout 10minutes down the highway to find access point. Fridge didnt keeep any of our food cold and pictures of house were not updated so a few differences but nothing major. Love the swings around the firepit!!

Peaceful and relaxing!

We had such a great time at the cabin! This was our second time to stay here. It had everything we needed. The surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful. We highly recommend staying here!

Great Property!

This home was a perfect place for our crew over the 4th of July. It fit our two families (4 adults, 4 teenagers) comfortably. The yard was beautiful and the fire pit was a perfect place for smores in the evening. One thing worth mentioning is that very few windows in the house actually open, so trying to get a good cross breeze in the warm summer night was a bit hard. There were plenty of fans provided, so we made due. Fun fact- We were told by some neighbors that The Happy Place shed on the back of the property used to be the local neighborhood bar!

Perfect for our family of six

Our experience at The Happy Place Cabin was perfect for our family of six (plus our dog). The kids loved having the lofts to retreat to at the end of the day. The kitchen and its set up were great. I loved having a second table in the living area. We used it as our game table. The property is well maintained. My kids had never been to Colorado. They are ready to return and have requested to stay in the same cabin.

Homie cabin with a few querks.

I really enjoyed the simplicity and homie nature of this cabin! 2 showers, laundrey, TV, and most cooking utensils available. We had no problems with any amenities. My dallas native friends also enjoyed all of the Texas and Dallas Cowboys memorabilia. Only thing i can think of to improve was that the lighting in the living area was difficult to figure out, and several light switches had to be found to make enough light for activities. Unbeatable for the price!

Nice location….subpar house

Nice, quiet location next to the river, however, the house could use some updates. Not at all baby friendly with many hazardous outlets and rigged electrical. Lofts are physically difficult to climb to if you’re older and have nobility issues. There was also a very strong smell of lacquer/polyurethane which took a day or two to dissipate after keeping the house open and ventilated.

Loved the outside yard. Since there is such little grass, we REALLY appreciated the nice grass yard. Outdoor area was very neat and tidy and perfect for us and the dogs. Very roomy in the house. Made us feel comfortable and not cramped at all. Lots of hand soap at the sinks but only had one very tiny soap to share for both showers for 5 days. Kind of strange. I would say that had to be the housekeeping staff that did not make sure everything was stocked appropriately. Very friendly and quiet neighborhood. Would stay again.

Super cabin for winter

We always enjoy staying here when we ski at Wolf Creek. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and the cabin is very clean. We especially appreciate the use of the washer and dryer. The only drawback is that the lofts get very hot from the furnace on the ground floor. We have to use the box fans upstairs for the kids, which we are grateful to have provided in this property. The beds on the front loft could use a mattress upgrade, but all in all it is a very comfortable cabin! The hosts left easily followed instructions for all the features, including Wi-Fi and TV. We will be returning for our next ski trip. Thank you to our property owners and hosts! ☺️

Cozy cottage is the right description

Stayed for 4 days to ski at Wolf Creek. Great location for access to skiing. Cottage was clean and roomy. The master bedroom was a little on the chilly side but once we figured out the bathroom heater we were able to balance out the temperature. The shower is a little tight - especially for our tall kids and my tall husband, but it was clean and it worked well so that's really what matters. On the downside, we were unable to locate a big trash can outside to get rid of trash (property manager happened by on checkout day and took the trash) but we ended up having to drive off with our final trash in the back of our vehicle. Other than that we would definitely rent again - especially in the summer - great location, great cabin layout and awesome value.

We were in town 7/2-7/6 for work. Our whole family worked a concession stand in creede and we were so thankful to have a great place to rest in our off time. The happy place cabin was so nice and clean and well stocked. It was in a great location right next to rail bikes and had four bikes to ride around the land. It was so beautiful. We used the grill to cookout the last night we were there and it worked great. Plenty of laundry pods were left to wash a few loads, dish soap, hand soap and lots of dishes. Outside was a very handy fire pit with firewood. We left some mosquito spray for the next tenants because they will get cha lol. We had a great experience and hope to return next year as we are around every summer for this event! Thanks Happly place cabin! We appreciate that you welcomed us with all the necessary items for a comfortable stay!

Clean cabin with great layout and bonus features

This clean cabin had everything I could dream of and more. It was well-organized. Little signs everywhere showed how to use the washer and dryer, TV, lights, and more. The kitchen was loaded with handy items: crock pots, toasters, waffle maker, and plenty of cookware and utensils. Basic supplies included salt and pepper, spices, ice, cooking oil, paper towels, dish and laundry soap, and hygiene items. It felt like the owner was very thoughtful about guests' needs. The ground floor bedroom and two lofts worked well for my family. Just be sure to let people with bad knees or poor balance stay on the ground floor as the loft stairs are steep. The location at the end of the subdivision made our stay feel private, yet it was close enough to Creede, Wolf Creek Pass, and the San Luis Valley to be the perfect base camp for our adventures. Thank you for a great family reunion!

Ski trip

We loved the space, and the fact that we had room to unwind after skiing all day. The house was comfortable and the heat sources were great. The kids enjoyed playing with the sleds and watching the deer each day. We cooked meals and had breakfast before leaving to ski. The kids also loved the games that were furnished in the home. This home is comfortable and clean and great for two families. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at Happy cabin. The only issue we had was dealing with the microwave. It kept tripping the breaker, so we just decided to heat milk and water for hot cocoa on the stove. We were able to warm things in the oven and get around the not being able to use the microwave. My only other recommendation is to bring paper goods, so you’re not washing a lot of dishes. There is not a dishwasher and for us it was fine.

Great space didn’t feel welcomed by owners

The property was nice and the location was perfect. It was well stocked as well. The first day after inquiring we were told we couldn’t use garage as advertised as the owners had changed what the we’re allowing. In addition we were told we could put out a tent and first day when we put up a canary we were told the owners were upset and we had to take it down because of sprinkler system. The sprinkler system was constantly on so you had to move anything you did on the yard depending on the sprinklers. We like to be outside rain or shine but that was tough with no Canapy because of sprinklers. We also had Someone driving by staring at us. We believe it was the owners checking on us. This is why we felt unwelcomed. Disappointing when you pay that much money to feel unwelcomed.

Great cabin

This is a great cabin off the busy roads. It has one bedroom & two bathrooms downstairs. Then 2 lofts with several beds. The kitchen is well stocked & plenty of towels & extra bedding.

Perfect getaway home
