Alluring history meets modern luxury in this enchanting in-town residence with all the coveted creature comforts.

First, consider the location. Directly on Main Street in the heart of Barnstable Village, it's a short walk to Barnstable Marina with its intriguing waterfront dining choices, whale watches, and charter fishing boats. Walk in the other direction to Main Street's dining, ice cream, unique shops, art fairs, and more. You'll become addicted to the Barnstable Market and Nirvana Coffee Company.

When the beach beckons, Millway Beach on beautiful Barnstable Harbor is just a half mile up the road.

Built in 1825, the home is large, beautiful, and well finished and furnished. Discover the stunning, fully equipped kitchen. Soak in the cheery light afforded by the vaulted ceiling with skylights and handsome transom windows. You'll love gathering here.

The creative window placements also showcase the adjacent dining area, complemented by a pair of highboy seats at the large kitchen island. Just beyond the kitchen and dining area, the open floor plan features an inviting lounge with curl-up-and-enjoy leather seating, a comforting gas fireplace, and a flat-screen smart TV.

The ā€œfront roomsā€ in the house include the slightly more formal dining room with another fireplace, which leads to the good-sized living room with plenty of lounge seating and another flat-screen smart TV.

There's one bedroom on the main level, with an adjacent full bath, the ideal solution for an older couple or single in your group with mobility issues, for whom stairs can be a challenge.

Anticipating that some guests may need to work remotely while in residence, the owner has thoughtfully provided two work stations, one on the main level and another upstairs.

The main level also has a half bath just off the formal dining room.

The second level features three additional private bedrooms: a primary bedroom with a king-size bed, a queen bedroom, and a bunk room. Additionally, there is a second sleeping area with a single twin bed and a pull-out trundle. The beautifully updated full bath on this level also contains a stackable washer and dryer.

One last set of stairs leads to the third level, where you'll find an enormous ā€œCaptain's Quartersā€ guest room with a comfy queen-size bed. The room is entirely custom, wood-paneled, with a striking coffered ceiling. The window up here provides an arresting elevated view of Main Street below.

The home is air-conditioned via strategically placed window units on the main level and a central system serving the two upper levels. The smart TVs are in a house with high-speed Wi-Fi.

This property offers a variety of elegant outdoor living options. The open deck features bench seating, a dining table, and chairs, perfect for enjoying meals al fresco while using the gas grill. For relaxation, there's a hot tub that provides an excellent way to unwind at the end of the day. Additionally, an enclosed outdoor shower is available to rinse off the sand and salt after a trip to the beach. Off the deck, you'll also find an attractive brick patio with a cafƩ table and chairs, offering another lovely spot to enjoy the carefully maintained fenced yard and gardens.

An additional feature: a freestanding barn with a home-theater projector and screen and a ping-pong table. Here you'll also find beach chairs, a cooler, and a wagon, which makes it practical to walk to the beach and leave your car at the house.

Cape Cod Getaway

We loved our stay in Barnstable. The house was perfect for a big family with lots of nooks and a beautiful outdoor space. We loved the patio and sat outside and enjoyed drums each night. The town was easy to get to from the house and has a great market and coffee shop. I would definitely stay here again!

Our family had a wonderful time at our second stay at Mill and Main! The house and fenced in yard are beautiful and the kids loved the barn with games and big screen projector! You can easily walk to the beach, grocery store and restaurants. We will definitely be back

Great house and perfect location

A nice big house, plenty of room for family or families. Stocked with everything you need for an extended stay. Outdoor shower was wonderful, plenty of towels provided and all the beach necessities you need! Stayed for five weeks and had a wonderful time.

Wonderful!

Perfect location: private, close to the beach, mall, grocery stores, restaurants. The house had games and plenty of space for our group of 8 adults. Even on a holiday weekend the host was responsive and helpful!

Great fall weekend

This house was perfect for a relaxing long weekend with friends. Plenty of games and things to do, lots of outdoor space, and great amenities. Really close to the beach as well as a market, coffee shop, etc. No complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful old house in Barnstable village

We came to the Cape for a week after not being here for 25 yrs. This house was great! Close to town, beautiful yard, so much that we didnā€™t even use(hot tub, ping pong table, extra bedrooms). Everyone loved it, kitchen was well equipped, comfy beds and pillows, charming place!

Great house with tons of personality

We loved our week on the cape staying at Mill and Main. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. We enjoyed the quirky layout of the house as it led to greater privacy with a big family group. The little beach just down the road was perfect for little kids and the proximity to grocery stores was super convenient. Our only complaint was that it was kind of loud from traffic noise and especially fire trucks blaring out from the firehouse down the block.

Well equipped rental - Great stay

Whoever outfitted this rental thought of everything. It's the Felix the Cat of houses, if you need something just open a door or drawer and you'll likely find it. The house had a variety of gathering spaces that allowed our group to come together as a group or break off into smaller groups. Easy walk to shops, not really too far to walk to the beach.

Such a good find!

This property was incredible. The kitchen was well stocked and was great to cook in. The jacuzzi was incredible, the barn with projector set-up was cozy and fun, the grill was gassed up and clean. The house had plenty of space for 6 people. The coffee shops are less than a 5 min walk. We would absolutely stay here again. Its a great stay for friends and family wanting to hangout and catch-up. The host made everything have a welcoming vibe by having the home stocked and a feel of generosity. I can't wait to come back!

Family vacation

We were very pleased with our experience at Mill & Main! The house was spacious and easily accommodated our blended family of teens, adults, a toddler, and dogs! The house had everything we needed and more, including a ping-pong table, outdoor games, a projector screen in the garage, and plenty of books and board games. We loved being able to walk to the harbor, enjoyed some meals in the surrounding towns and nearby, as well as several nights cooking at home with the family. (The hot tub and outdoor shower were also a plus!) We highly recommend this property to families of various ages and will gladly book again in the future if we find ourselves in Barnstable!

Awesome House and Location!

Mill and Main was the perfect spacious house for our family of 9. Our stay was the third week in June. The house has a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and beautiful outdoor space. Everything was in perfect working order and clean from the house, to the grill, jacuzzi, and washer/dryer. The location for my family 26 yr old to 80 was perfect. Walkable was a priority when we were looking for a home to rent. We were able to walk to all the local restaurant and enjoyed each one. Who wants to cook every night! The location was also great for touring the cape. We had only wished we could stay longer! Thank you for making us feel right at home. We will definitely stay at Mill and Main again in the future.

Outstanding rental in a great location

This property was amazing. It had everything we wanted for our party of 10!. A special perk was the hottub! We had a plumbing issue and management was right there to fix it. I would highly recommend this property.
