Photo #1 above is the actual view from my beachfront terrace. The Playa Dorado resort complex is located on the best white sandy beach in the area and is located between the Puerto Plata (POP) airport and the town of Puerto Plata. There are taxis and shuttles from POP to all the resorts or you can rent a car at the airport or in the Playa Dorado complex. When checking-in at the 24/7 front desk, you can select the meals and drinks option, or not. If you do not drink much alcohol and dont want to pay excessive $ for average food, then you can dine in the nearby Plaza or in town and get your own food and have breakfast and lite meals on the terrace, as we do. Best super market is the La Sirena on the PP oceanside main street (Malecon) They have everything you could need and a good buffet. If you need to work online as i do, you can use my portable internet modem for a small refundable deposit. Paula Reyes is our very helpful English-speaking manager at Grand Paradise. Her office is in the lobby near the 24/7 front desk where you check-in and get the room key card to my apt #1414.
