Beautiful beachfront at The Villas On Great Bay

This two-bedroom, three-bath villa is situated right on Great Bay Beach in a small complex of twelve individual villas with a lovely beachfront swimming pool and breathtaking ocean views. This gated complex with on-site management is the perfect place to relax around the pool or to just lounge on your private lanai or elevated deck overlooking our beautiful beach. It is remodeled inside and out with new furniture and king beds. There are security cameras for your safety located in the common areas on the property, including the pool.

The location is ideal because it is on the opposite side of Great Bay from the bustling Philipsburg Cruise Port, so you can enjoy the wonderful views of the cruise ships' comings and goings without the crowds! There are as many as six cruise ships in port at one time, and watching them is a favorite past-time of just about everyone who stays at our complex.

There are endless activities available in St. Maarten/St. Martin and the surrounding islands if you are interested in something other than vegging out on our gorgeous beach or beachside pool and patio.

Recently remodeled: Tastefully decorated with new beds and bedding (600 thread count silky sheets!), sleeper sofa, and living room furniture. All 3 bathrooms were remodeled, with the 2 private upstairs bedroom baths each having new showers and rain shower heads with handheld shower wands. A new viewing deck is available through patio doors from the ocean side bedroom, which overlooks the beach, ocean, and cruise ship dock.

The kitchen was remodeled, including a new stove, full-sized microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, plenty of cabinet space, and tile. It is fully stocked with dinnerware, cooking supplies, spices, a blender, a coffee pot, a toaster, and bar accessories. There are even little drink umbrellas waiting just for you!

Short walk to everything: There is a local convenience store a half block away for last-minute necessities. Your favorite restaurants, shops, piers, and people watching are just a short 5-10 minute walk down the beach or boardwalk. This is one of the best locations on the island as you can have peace and quiet when you want it or walk just a few minutes to all the shopping, restaurants, and beach activity your heart would ever desire. For longer stays, house cleaners are available at an additional cost. Toilet paper and paper towels are provided, but you should bring your own bar soap and shampoo.

Beauty after Beauty

Had a marvelous stay at the Villas on Great Bay! Dougs place is a perfect spot to stay on Great Bay. The beautiful aqua waters and the warm sunshine and sandy beach you cannot beat! The villa is super clean and the view from living room and owners suite is breath taking! Serge helped us out with any of our questions and the others in the adjacent villas were so friendly and welcoming! The villa has all the amenities you ever need. Dougs list of restaurants, beaches and things to do was so helpful. We toured the island in our rental car and visited several of the 37 beachs. I highly recommend this villa and the island is one of the most beautiful place you will ever see!

Beautiful beachfront property

This is the second time Iā€™ve stayed at this property and villa 2 is an exceptional unit and well equipped for an extended stay. The villas on great Bay are ideally situated to walk to shopping, restaurant, bars, water, sports, etc. but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of cruise ship crowed. The owner is very responsive, the check-in process was easy and the property manager was available for anything we needed during our stay. I highly recommend staying here if you plan a visit to Saint Maarten.

Amazing vacation

We stayed at this villa for 10 days and had an amazing time! The accommodations were exactly as described and the hosts provided so much useful information about the restaurants and activities nearby. The property manager, Serge, was so friendly and greeted us on arrival even helping with our luggage. The property was very private and we felt very comfortable and safe. There was security on site which added to the comfort level. The boardwalk was a short walk down the beautiful beach which was so sandy and warm. The private pool was a popular hangout for the family. The cruise ships were a daily sight right from the villa patio and lovely to watch them depart all lit up against the night sky! Although Phillipsburg is a bustling hub during the day, there is not much nightlife there as most places close by 9pm. Note though that the bar/restaurant will not close if there are customers there so no need to worry about getting kicked out at 9pm LOL! Also as expected the internet is bit unreliable but it was a perfect excuse to get away from technology/work. Would definitely come back!

Our stay was great. The property manager was amazing. Anything you needed he was right there to help you out. The area was great. Lots of shops and places to eat. It was cool to see the cruise ships come in. The beach in front of the villa was beautiful. There were a couple of beach chairs to use, which was convenient. Overall, this place was great for our family of 4.

Trip of a lifetime!

You know that feeling you get, the first time you step into a place you booked quite some time ago, and have eagerly anticipated ever since ... and it's EXACTLY everything you wanted it to be? That's what it was like, upon our arrival at Doug & Becky's gorgeous villa on the bay in Sint Maarten! The location, the layout, the decor, the grounds, the pool, the on-site manager, the beach just a few steps away ... all of it was spectacular. And the communication, recommendations, and advice I received from the owners prior to our arrival was unlike anything I've experienced with any other venue I've rented. Quite simply, this is the best VRBO experience we've ever enjoyed. This was our first trip to the beautiful island of Sint Maarten, but we're already making plans to return ... and it just wouldn't be the same unless we find a way to stay in this beautiful villa once again!

Wonderful, Relaxing Vacation in a Beautiful Place

What a lovely villa! The pics don't do it justice! The bedrooms and living room are much more spacious. The location in the community is perfect as far as privacy. The owners have thought of absolutely everything one might need. We even loved the beach compared to the few others we saw on the island. It wasn't super-wide which would make for a long walk, it was completely uncrowded - most days we were the only ones there, and the water was gorgeous. Also, watching the cruise ships come in and go out was fun. It was truly a wonderful, relaxing vacation and we would rent this villa again in a heartbeat! :)

My sister & I and a friend rented villa #2 at The Villas on Great Bay. I researched the VRBO site with my necessary needs as a filter & I am ELATED that I selected this Villa. There are only 13 villas. This villa faces the ocean & is a little more private than the other villas. This property has an infinity edge pool shared by all, but was hardly used when were there for our 8-day vacation. This villa is three bath, two bedroom & is the best stocked VRBO I have ever stayed in & I am a seasoned traveler. The kitchen is stocked like my kitchen at home. It has an outdoor shower before you enter the villa. The flooring is beautiful, the appliances great...there is nothing negative to say about this villa nor this property. What is a great plus is that the villas are very secure. You have gates that you can lock outside your front patio & around your entry porch. The entire property is gated and needs a combination to enter & to leave. There is an on-site manager of the property named Serge. He is sweet, so competent, so helpful, & so professional. Serge will arrange a taxi, make reservations...anything that you need. If you rent this villa, you will NOT be disappointed! The property is even more beautiful than the pictures & the location of this villa on the island is the BEST! The best shopping on the island is on Front Street & so are the Villas! Communication with both the villa owner and the property manager before our stay was prompt and informative. A great experience!

From the moment of booking, Doug has been incredibly attentive, responsive and helpful. He provides a comprehensive packet of information, recommendations to local stores, charters, amenities, generous coupons and anything else you could ever need. If youā€™re looking for less night life, beautiful quiet beach with the option to be in the mix of busy beaches, it would be a shame to overlook this villa. Communications were excellent, the Villa was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend

Nice property, great location

Overall this property is great! The location is prime at the far end of the beach in Phillipsburg on Great Bay. Close enough to walk into town to all of the bars, eateries and shopping but far enough away to be quite peaceful. The unit was well stocked with the necessary equipment and even had some food/drink supplies in the small bar and kitchen. The onsite manager (Wally) was fantastic, helpful and very helpfull with island information. He checked in with us daily to see if everything was OK. The small pool was nice in the morning or evening and overlooks the beach!

Villas on Great Bay - # 2 - 2nd Visit

This was our 2nd time staying in Villa # 2. The property is beautiful and all amenities are as stated. Wally was very attentive to our needs. We had to cut our stay by 2 days as Hurricane Tammy was bearing down and our scheduled flight was cancelled. We love St Martin and hope to return for a third visit.

We love sharing with our guests what we have learned about all the activities, shopping, and wonderful food on the island. We have been going to St. Maarten for over 25 years and decided that this was the perfect location to keep coming back to. It is the perfect location as the access to the beach and town cannot be beaten. You are a short walk or drive away from grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping.

Wally, our manager, can source fresh lobster, caught that morning, for you and grill it for you that evening.
