Large rooms and beautiful views of the New River. Waterfront with access located minutes from Topsail Island beaches. Comfortably sleeps 8-10 with 3 bedrooms and a large sleeper sofa with 3 full baths. Huge screened porch perfect for morning coffee with sunrise and evening cocktails with sunset. Access to the water. Plenty of room outside for patio grilling. Inflatable floats and gentle current make the water great for playing and sun. 1/4 mile from fresh caught seafood houses, restaurants and boat access.

This is our third family vacation and we love the warm welcoming atmosphere of the home and surrounding area! There are so many extras with this property that if something was forgotten, it is probably there for your use! Great place!!

Carawan vacation

Wonderful visit in Sneads Ferry

Two of my Marine sons are stationed at Camp Lejeune. Hattie's Place proved to be a wonderful Thanksgiving destination for four generations to meet and share the holiday together. It is ideal for large groups and has every convenience of home. The location on the New River along with the beautiful outdoor and screened- in decks were enjoyed by everyone. The host did a great job reaching out to make sure we had everything we needed to both cook our holiday meal and make the most of the property. It is located 5 minutes from the Sneads Ferry gate, and about 20 minutes from main side Lejeune. We are so happy we know about this gem for future use and will be back. Thank you very much to the host!

Family fishing trip

We stayed in Hattie’s Place again this year for our family vacation. The house is very accommodating for us and feels like home. We had a great time fishing! Definitely looking forward to next year!

Great Family Time

We enjoyed our family time, making memories, and visiting our Marine in this lovely home. The photos on VRBO didn't do it justice! It started to feel like home, and we hated to leave. Thank you for the welcome gift and for your hospitality!

Peaceful river home

We enjoyed staying here and sitting on the porch watching the river during both sunrise and sunset. There is plenty of space to spread out and everything you need. We will definitely stay again if we come back to this area.

A Peaceful Family Treasure

Everything was as advertised, and the host was accessible and generous with provisions for the house. We had a wonderful peaceful time together in this former family home located on a scenic point along the New River.

Peaceful and Inviting

Excellently maintained well stocked .Grandson and friend enjoyed kayaks. Loved hot tub Adults loved the hidden seating by the river . Screened in back porch great meeting place . The history of this home is heartwarming. Pictures do not do house justice . This home is beautiful peaceful and inviting. Looking forward to staying again .

Review of Stay

This was a huge well kept former family home. It was spotless. The host was immediately responsive. It was right on the New River wirh wonderful views. Their description on VRBO was accurate. The family had a wonderful week together. I highly recommend it.

Family Get-a-way

Enjoyed our stay! Places to eat were near by. The house was very comfortable. The screened in porch was used a lot. The only thing that we had a little struggle with was getting in and out of the tub/shower. A walk in shower is what we have at home with grab bars due to age and disability but we made it work. All is good!

Nice getaway!

Vacation

The house was absolutely perfect for our end of summer vacation after our daughter’s wedding! Hattie’s place had such a friendly family vibe, with large rooms, lots of seating, a patio, front porch and one awesome large screened in back porch with such a beautiful view. We had other families and friends rent other places and had plenty of room to have dinner together in the evenings with all of the outdoor space just like a mom would want….thank you!!

Our family had a wonderful second visit to this beautiful riverfront property! The location is perfect for visiting your Marine - five minutes to the bridge! Reviews for the property are completely accurate - home is clean, with large, comfortable seating areas, and a well-equipped kitchen for family gatherings. The screened-in porch and sunsets are memorable. Host makes certain you have everything you need for an enjoyable experience!

Beautiful Home Lots of Space

The pictures do not do this spot justice! It is much more in person and so very welcoming and comfortable. The story of the home and property is special, makes you love this place that much more. Absolutely everything you might need to be "at home" away from home is found here. Communication with the owner is great! We had a tropical storm roll through while there and the owner contacted us to share important information for us to be ready and stayed in touch when we responded with updates after the storm passed. We are a veteran family and one military base is across the river from the house. We really enjoyed the air show (training) one day from the comfort of the screened in back porch. Our pets loved the space and enjoyed being welcome on our trip. There were six adults and we all had our own areas to escape to for quiet time as well as plenty of spots to play games and do puzzles. The beds were comfortable and each room has a couch or sitting spot to relax at the end of a busy day. We cooked every day and the kitchen is fully stocked, most everything you would need for any meal prep is found. Close to Food Lion grocery store as well as local farm stands with fresh vegetables and fruits and seafood markets for catch of the day items, some were within walking distance. We enjoyed dinner out at Riverview and coffees daily from Coffee Haven (such nice people!). Close to many attractions and within 10 minutes to the Topsail Island for beach fun.

Absolutely Wonderful in everyway!

Beautiful, comfortable and So accommodating for our large party for Mom's 90th birthday. I can't thank our host, Michael, and his mom, Ms. Hattie, enough for offering this beautiful, beloved home for us to celebrate Mom. The photos on VRBO does not do this place justice. The rooms are bigger and better than you can imagine. The sunsets are mesmerizing almost like a painting-too beautiful to describe as it glistens across the water of New River. The huge back porch was a favorite for the family, young and old, for visiting, playing or watching the passing boats or spotting dolphins swimming by and playing in the water. The ramp in the garage and the sofa bed and bathroom on the 1st floor worked out perfect for Mom with her walker. The home, as large as it is, had a warm, cozy, inviting feeling that felt so welcoming. The amenities were beyond compare-from everything we needed in the kitchen, to the extra sheets, towels, paper products, the games, kayaks and rafts, the extra refrigerator and freezer, washer and dryer in the garage, the grill and tables out back and on and on. I just can't get over how much we all fell in love with this house and I couldn't have picked a better place for our stay. The only complaint I have is our time there went by way too fast, lol. Michael even left a nice gift for Mom's birthday. Thank you for making our stay so amazing. We will cherish the memories we made together. We would definitely love to stay again in the future, only longer. *****
