The perfect Costa Rica vaction rental! Jaco is my favorite place❤️

Let me start with how easy it is to get to the house and we loved that is was in a gated area. The location wonderful! The view , the pool and the beach perfection!!!! The house is everything we wanted in a vaction rental. Each room is gorgeous and private. The main areas are perfect for the family to hang out but we were never really inside. The people in Jaco were so friendly. We just needed more time and surf lessons . We will be back in the spring or sooner !

Spectacular Views!!

This property was fantastic! Rick and Maricela were very responsive from before booking, through booking, and our stay at the house. They gave our group of 10 excellent recommendations and helped coordinate activities each day. We cannot say enough about the house. If we weren't so eager to plan activities, we could have stayed on the property the entire time. The location was perfect - close to multiple beaches, restaurants, and bars. The views were the best part. No matter what time of day, we got in the pool and enjoyed watching and listening to the waves crash in the background. The house had the most updated amenities and easily fit our group size in all of the communal areas. The master bedroom was one of the most impressive I have stayed in. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was easy to navigate, the bathroom included an indoor/outdoor shower. Overall, A+++++ experience!

“60th” Anniversary Family Vacation

Finding *Casa Overlook* was the best thing for us. 13 of us altogether and we were not disappointed at all. I asked each one for a rating of 110 and everyone gave and 11 We all loved it. A spacious and comfortable room for each one of us. My husband and myself with the Amazing primary room. A very well stocked kitchen for any of your cooking needs. Very comfortable outdoor patio for all times of day with a beautiful view. Several of us enjoyed the pool at the end of the evening. Complimentary snacks and beverages waiting for us upon our arrival. Great communication with Property Manager Celine before,during and upon leaving. She is awesome. Owners are very fortunate to have her. Resident Nextdoor dog “Otto” that loves to come and visit, and will actually bark to be let in. Very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Outlook and would definitely book another stay in a heartbeat, and return to beautiful Costa Rica. Over much too soon. The Swensen Gang*Notes Although I did not personally use the Boogie Boards, I guess they are pretty much done! Communication at the gate was interesting. They just kind of gave up on us and would just open and wave. :)

Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay!

I searched high and low for the nicest place to stay in the area and Im so glad that we found Casa Overlook to celebrate a friend's birthday. After booking this home, Olga from Costa Rica Luxury Lifestyle reached out asking all the right questions to make sure that all of our needs would be met upon check in. From arranging our airport transportation in a luxury sprinter van, stocking our refrigerator upon arrival, booking our fishing charter and restaurant reservations to arranging for a private chef to cook some of our meals at Casa Overlook... no detail was overlooked. The home itself was perfect! Sitting on a hillside with a beautiful view of the beach, this was the perfect location to spend our time in Costa Rica. Not one person was disappointed with the accommodations. The beds were very comfortable, the AC was ice cold, the twice daily house cleaning kept the home fresh and orderly, and the hotel quality towels were a nice touch. If luxury vacation is what you're seeking, look no further than booking Casa Overlook with Olga as your host!

Beautiful luxury villa

Our group had a wonderful time at the Villa. They had all the amenities we needed and was kept in perfect order. The views were amazing and we looked forward to getting visits from monkeys from time to time. I would highly recommend this property to those seeking the perfect Costa Rican vacation!

Rainforest Luxury

Enjoyed family vacation with rainforest location and beautiful views. Lots of space and bathrooms for almost every bedroom. The house is luxurious, beds are comfortable, each room has individual AC and everything was cleaned regularly. Infinity pool beautiful to relax in with monkeys and macaws. House is in a gated community and the road entering is very steep, and guarded by iguanas! We hired Chef Pablo Turel (5 stars) for breakfast and dinners, highly recommend. They are familiar with house. Only down side was property manager who was not responsive until we arrived so I used Playa Hermosa Vacations (5 stars) for planning and questions. We also had some plumbing issues which were responded to and repaired quickly. The maid comes some days and arrives early, so be prepared.

Great Home

The home is amazing. Clean and all appliances work perfectly. The only thing to make sure of is the drive up to the neighborhood. We had a large 12 person van that could barely make it up. The other vehichles, a small van and suv, had no issure. Other than that, great. Perfect distance from Jaco if you want to be there quick, but also peace and quite to escape the crazy.

What a disappointment

We booked this house to accommodate our wedding party. When we all first got there we really enjoyed the amazing views and the wildlife that surrounded us, especially the monkeys! First and foremost, there are no directions to anything regarding the house. We were trying to get the stove/oven working. Turns out there was a propane tank outside by a bush that needed to be turned on, that would have been great to know but not huge deal. Master bedroom has zero closet space because they have it locked. As the days progressed things got significantly worse. Four rooms had leaks from the roof! One was so bad our guest left for other accommodations because it was so disgusting. Beds were covered in whatever was leaking and then the kitchen developed a leak. When we contacted the host about it, they got back to us the following day and said they would send someone out. Well, no one ever came. The next day someone came out for exactly 3 minutes and left. Extremely embarrassing having our bridal party fly in from all over and have to stay in this. Saving the best for last, one of our guest were eaten all over their body by BED BUGS! Are you kidding me?! Absolutely disgusting. We took pictures of everything and wish we could upload them to show people who are considering renting this property. We have traveled to Costa Rica several times and this is by far the WORST lodging experience we have had. The property is beautiful and has great potential but for the price they are charging, the issues we had were absolutely unacceptable.

Heaven on Earth

The home is on top of the mountain surrounded by think rain forest preserve, with a beautiful Infinity Pool overlooking the ocean. The entire Eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom home is charming. Well secured gated community and very close to Jaco beach attractions. The property manager Mr.Mike was very professional, friendly and helpful. Our group had a blast and would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Jaco.

Not so cool-er

Overall, the property delivered on the description- Monkeys, safety, quiet, large space for family. But there were a few things that weren’t so great. - One of the bedroom baths had no hot water at all. - The guest house started to smell like sewage by mid-week through our stay. Also, there was a cooler (Standard medium sized cooler that was probably 2-3 years old) that we borrowed to take to the beach which was stolen that I reported to the property owner at our departure to replace it. Rick wanted to charge us 3 times the actual cost plus tax to replace this old cooler. Given how much we spent for our time there (increased rates due to the holidays), our honesty up front about the issue, and lack of complaints during the stay about the other things above, I was pretty surprised at the response. The views are beautiful, but we won’t be staying here again.

An experience all its own

There aren’t enough words to explain how absolutely wonderful this property is. Except for the fact that Jaco itself is so lovely and you don’t want to miss its charm, one could spend an entire vacation at this home. The pool is such an added amenity. Being up on a hill the view is spectacular and you just feel like you are that much closer to the sun. We had the best time the day we spent at the pool. And because Rick connected us with Jaco VIP for concierge service, we had an additional bonus of a pool party complete with chef, bartender and DJ. We were a party of 15 and space was no issue. Nearly every room has its own private entrance and bathroom which is so great for providing privacy and the ability for everyone to come and go as they pleased with no concerns of disturbing anyone else. Beds were comfortable and we had cleaning service every day which was so nice. And the monkeys! What entertainment. But do beware, they are always looking for that door or window someone forgot to shut! Overall we had such a spectacular time and I highly recommend this home.

Casa Overlook review

Our family of 13 stayed here ranging in age from 5 to 73. Plenty of space for everyone with a nice little pool and a great view of the Pacific. We saw monkeys everyday and a variety of tropical birds. Overall a great spot. There are a few items I would call out that prevent this place from being a true 5 star location. This place clearly gets used a lot and seems like the general maintenance and upkeep are a little behind. There are bunch of little things that by themselves seem trivial but add them all together and you have to take away 1 star of the rating, The management of the property is transitioning and I believe that affected the rating for us as well. The new management group seems to be still learning the nuances of this property and doesn't seem prepared to deal with it as we waited multiple days to have a couple easy maintenance issues resolved. I'm sure once they learn a little more it will be great but unfortunately our group had to be part of the learning curve. Overall we had a great experience and for big groups that want to all be together in a property this is a really good spot. We did not have any rental cars, we found a local with a big van that treated our family great and we tipped him well and it worked out great for both of us. You can walk down to the Backyard grill from this spot but we only did it once and we didn't walk back as the house is up on a hill and the road is a little risky to walk on. You can call to the guard house and they will get a taxi for you as well. There are plenty of locals that speak English but if you or someone in your group speaks Spanish that will help out. If you like to see monkeys...

...THIS is the place! The monkeys come to the house once to twice daily, looking for treats, so if this is something you have never seen before, you will really love this house. House is beautifully clean. We had 7 adults and 4 kids and there was more than enough room for all of us. My only wish is that it is walking distance to the beach, but if it was, you’d have to give up the incredible views, so the trade off is worth it. Lovey home, I highly recommend it!

The house and surrounding grounds are beautiful!

We arrived with a group of 18. There was more than enough room. The house consists of 3 buildings (guesthouse), main house and a 4 bedroom building. We did not need to rent a car, as transportation was easy to find and reliable. We WALKED to several great nearby food establishments and we took a large van to Jaco for shopping and hanging out. It is imperative that at least one person have an international cell phone service/travel plan (I had one for 10 bucks a day via Verizon) Although two secondary house phones are provided, they are dependent upon the internet/ wi-fi. If the internet is not working, neither is the phone or the tv. There is also a portable hotspot in the kitchen, but with a group as large as ours it was extremely slow and/or non existent; nonetheless, we were able to watch shows via our laptop. There is a commercial coffee maker, blender, espresso maker, a large rice cooker on site and a few large/small pitchers. There are more than enough plates/silverware to accommodate 20 people; however, I packed 5 large disposable aluminum pans with lids in my suitcase to cook large meals. It really saved the day during bbq's and such. Walmart is probably better for buying bulk food vs the other smaller stores. Pura Vida!!!!

My family and I throughly enjoyed our stay at the Hermosa Hills property. The property manager was outstanding. She anticipated our needs, and responded to our request in a prompt and efficient manner. The caretaker staff was exceptional.

Beautiful Location

The property is beautiful. From the decor of the house to the pool and the grounds, the property did not disappoint. It is very conveniently located near Jaco as well as Playa Hermosa. Maricela was wonderful in helping coordinate everything from activities to helping us address issues while we were there such as delayed flights, a stolen bag, etc. She also gave wonderful recommendations for places to eat. Rick was great as well with communication prior to our stay and during. We would stay at one of Rent Rica's properties again. Thank you for a wonderful trip that our family of 20 will not forget!

Our dream wedding came true at Casa Overlook

This property is a dream come true! My husband and I hosted our closest friends and family for our wedding at Casa Overlook. Everything exceeded our expectations! The house itself is perfect for entertaining a large group but has enough space for everyone to feel comfortable. We were greeted by monkeys every morning and afternoon. We saw scarlet Macaws, Toucans, and Iguanas as well. The house manager, Maricela was a joy to work with through planning our wedding and also during our stay. She was never out of reach and always so kind. Rick, the house owner was also very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Casa Overlook is a beautiful home that will only make your Costa Rica vacation more magical! Thank you Rick and Maricela for allowing us to have our dream wedding in your beautiful home!

This is an awesome house and great for a large group with numerous sleeping quarters throughout. Would definitely stay here again!

This house gives you a real feel of a Costa Rican rain forest!! Everything is as described, actually even better. I annoyed Rick and Maricella with so many questions but they were very accommodating and professional. They helped my trip go smooth from transportation, toiletries and excursion recommendations. It rained so much that we stayed in the house most of the time and we do not regret any second of that. The most memorable parts of our trip took place in this house. I would most certainly come back or try one of their other properties! Im still in shock with how great this trip turned out and I owe it all to Maricella.

Mansion in Paradise

I recently stayed at the casa overlook to celebrate a friends bachelor party. The house was perfect location from the beach and local bars as well as the nightlife in jaco. Maricela was able to provide us with can service to shuttle back and forth whenever and wherever we wanted to go without having to pay almost anything. I also felt safe inside the neighborhood with the security guard monitoring the entrance and exit. I would definitely recommend staying here and visiting jaco.

Everywhere you look there are ocean views and jungle. Casa Overlook is located in a gated community that is protected 24/7 by security and easy paved roads all of the way. Casa Overlook has a gate that secures the entire three building structure to create a very safe and secure environment. Great common spaces to be together with the perfect balance of separate rooms for privacy and relaxation. There is no other property that offers the same experience.
