This place is absolutely amazing. The pictures matched what we saw on the website. We had everything we needed- utensils, towels, extra linens, beach chairs, a cooler, you name it. We loved having the comforts of home such as a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and workable tv. It truly felt like a home away from home. The manager was super responsive and accommodating. The location was close to everything too. When we return we will definitely stay here again!

Sunsets were sublime from the lawn and lanai. It was right next to Honl beach, had a nice pool and hot tub with a grill area. Once I figured out the parking and stairs everything was easily accessible. How soon can I come back!?

This was in a perfect location, within walking distance to the lively downtown area with great restaurants, shops, bars, beautiful beaches, and awesome views. However, it's hard to beat the view from the rental! It's right on the water, an incredible sunset spot. We spent alot of time on the lanai just watching the waves and feeling the breeze. The property was very clean when we arrived, everything worked well and was in nice condition. Loved the furniture and the decorations. We had great service from our contact, it was an easy process, and overall we just got a really great vibe from the place. This was honestly the perfect place to stay and we highly recommend it. Already looking forward to our next stay!

Oceanfront View

Kona Reef served our needs and the location was perfect for the Ironman World Championship. The furnishings could use some updating and the bed was one of the worst I've ever slept in. The kitchen was not stocked (most every other VRBO property we have stayed in provided basics like salt and pepper, trash bags, dishwashing soap, etc.) There was no soap for the bathroom or kitchen and no facial tissues. There needed to be detailed instructions for the TV. It constantly went off and took forever to re-boot. The view from the balcony was nice and the bathroom was nice. Love having a walk in shower. And really appreciated the washer and dryer. Loved the location but this unit could use a little love.

Great area for walking and nice views

We enjoyed our time at this condo and our first stay on the BI. It is conveniently located and beautiful views etc. hope to come back again. Issues - 1) Wi-Fi could not be accessed given the information displayed and provided by mgmt. and cell service was only useable from the balcony due to stone structure and no Wi-Fi access. Only here for 4 days at this rental and didnā€™t have time to mess w trying to get it working. Seemed to be issues with the Wi-Fi box overheating even though it did not seem to be close to anything? So constant message appeared on TV screen. Didnā€™t bother us though as listened to music on TV that was playing when we entered the condo otherwise busy outside. 2) bathroom sink had been clogged probably w sand from something rinsed out by a prior guest so sink drained very slow 3) floor looked clean but upon removing our shoes outside the door and walking around inside barefooted it was very dirty - possibly prior guests either tracked in sand or dirt or did not remove their shoes and /or clean floor prior to leaving. Most of those issues might not have been immediately noticeable to cleaning staff or mgmt, We did let them know when we checked out. Otherwise no issues w our stay and would consider staying here again.

Awesome Location! Beautiful Condo & View!

It definitely greeted us with a welcome to Hawaii vibe as soon as we walked in the front door with gorgeous Hawaii style furniture. This place is not over furnished. It's practical, comfortable and gorgeous! The bedroom furniture is SUPER BEAUTIFUL! Although we kept the slider open most of the day and evenings to enjoy the view, sunsets, surfers, cool ocean breezes and sound of the waves, we appreciated having an awesome AC system in the bedroom and living room area as needed. The AC is super quiet and efficient, kitchen is equipped with more than enough supplies needed to prepare meals & cocktails and all the floors are travertine stone tiles! (No nasty carpet!) We also loved having a washer/dryer and spacious walk-in travertine shower. The view is incredible and the location is perfect! The property is a 5min walk from some of the best restaurants and bars in town (Huggos, Don Beachcombers, A Bays, Humpy's, Ocean's Lavern's) and directly next to a popular beach enjoyed by yoga classes, surfers, and sun bathers! There's a beautiful quiet oceanfront pool, hot tub and grills. Other guest were very friendly too. Easy to find, awesome condo, super conveniently located. We didn't need to leave or go far from this property to feel like we were on our dream Hawaii vacation! Highly recommended!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

After a frustrating start, we totally relaxed. Not our first trip to Kona and not our first VRBO rental however, upon landing I still had not received the access code to the unit. I called the management company and a snooty gentleman informed me (3 times) that I had to wait til 4pm to receive the code, because that was check in time and that I was not to go to the condo until 4pm Umm, yeah I am aware but other rentals have always sent the code the night before, just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed the email. Anywho, I did get code emailed to me after I hung up. Once we arrived at the complex (after 4pm), we walked around aimlessly for 30 minutes or so as there was no. Complex map sent with the email confirmation (this was frustrating) and we were trying to figure out which unit we would be staying in. Once we arrived I received 2 texts from the management company, checking in and making sure I had what we needed. The condo itself is dated but the views are phenomenal, picture perfect. Washer and dryer are small but enough to wash 3 beach towels at a time. The Murphy bed in the living room is the best as it allowed us to sleep with the sliding door open to the sounds of the crashing waves. The bedroom is big enough but our 6yr slept there. The bedroom closet smells musty. One of the extra pillows had what looked like mold or mildew, so we didnt touch those. Beach chairs, umbrella and extra bags were available. On the upside, location is great. Walking distance to the Alli'i strip (about 6 minutes). Once we figured out the pool situation (key needed to get in and out) our daughter enjoyed it. Bbq area is clean. Security walks around after 10pm. It's a safe location. I would stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Fall asleep and wake to the sound of the ocean. As you can see from pictures the ocean is a stones throw from your deck. Beautiful sunsets every evening. Just a short walk to all that downtown Kona has to offer and yet far enough away that you are relaxing in an island paradise. The property manager was helpful and efficient and provided helpful information about activities. The unit was clean and comfortable. A JOYOUS VACATION GETAWAY

Not what we expected.

The view was spectacular having the ocean in front of us. The deficiencies were: no available closet space; bedroom small, dark & dingy; water heater set at luke warm, trouble with TV set up & if have mobility issues there are steps making it difficult to lift/move suitcases.

Worst experience

1st time booking with VRBO, booked this property for 5 nights. Check in was easy, they email you all the required information. When I arrived to the property, you could tell it was a bit outdated but that was ok as long as we had a clean space. The room is as pictured, great view outside the balcony. The only issue we had is that the bed was dirty. It reeked! You could assume by the smell that the linens had not been changed. I tried to see if we could deal with it but when I sat in the bed I could smell the stench of body odor. It literally felt like I was laying next to the previous guest. I immediately tried to call the property and didnā€™t get an answer from their main number or their after hours number. I tried a few times and ultimately left a message. I was hoping theyā€™d answer because they had just called me letting me know they were going to fix the broken fan in the bedroom. We needed them to at least change the linens. Never received a call until the final day of checkout. Had to rebook out of pocket for another location. No resolution from the property manager.

Great place

Nice little condo with an amazing view. The propertyā€™s furniture and linens etc could be updated but it was clean and convenient to places to eat and go. There is a beach right next door that is a 2 minute walk but not great to swim in due to wavesā€¦.perfect for surfing and boarding. Very clean and quiet which was nice because I was in town for work.

Even better than the listing and pictures.

The location of the unit cannot be beat. It was truly wonderful. The pictures, listing and reviews gave an accurate description of the property. It is true that it can become warm with the limited A/C but the view was worth it. We slept on the murphy bed in the living room and kept the screen open and were completely comfortable. The view and location were perfect! We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants in town. The pool is updated and very nice. And parking is a breeze. Truly this was a beautiful vacation.

Kona spring trip

Very nice property. It is clean, well supplied, and was very comfortable for my family of three. The view from the deck is priceless as one is approximately 15 meters from the water! The pool/jacuzzi and grilling area is all within a 1 minute walk. The beach is adjacent to the property and was very nice yet uncrowned. The location is perfect. A short 8-10 minute walk will have you at the beginning of a very nice restaurant and club area. There are grocery stores, pharmacies, souvenir shops, all vert close. Highly recommend this property.
