There's so much to do and see without even getting in your car ... after a short walk past the Royal Kona Resort (great luaus!), Don the Beachcomber Restaurant, Don's Mai Tai Bar, Huggos on the Rocks and the snow cone stand, you'll find yourself in Kailua-Kona Town. There you'll find many more restaurants and coffee shops, stores, gift shops and ABC convenience marts that stay open late for those last minute items. A little further and you'll find the Farmers' Market where you can find fresh Hawaiian flowers, fruit, veggies and handmade gifts.

A number of shopping centers with larger supermarkets like Safeway, KTA, Sac'n Save and more are close by. Costco, WalMart, Target, Sports Authority and Long's Drugs are nearby as well.

Major world renowned golf courses and world record marlin fishing are close. Swimming, hiking, and bicycle riding everywhere at the home of the world famous 'IRONMAN Triathlon' held every October. Bring your pole and surf fish along the coast if you like - no license required!

An easy walk to local restaurants. Several times we just brought food back and ate it on our balcony. We also went to the local farmers market and brought back fresh fruit. Everything we needed to cut the fruit and serve our meals was provided in the kitchen.Nice updated bathroom and shower.

This condo was absolutely perfect for us! The location is perfect - you can walk to amazing restaurants and shops. As all the reviews say, the best part was watching the sunrise and sunset from the balcony. The ocean view is simply unmatched. We loved cooking breakfast and having coffee overlooking the ocean. Before we arrived, the owner spent 30 minutes giving us recommendations, some of which we hadn't heard about yet. We were welcomed with a beautiful fruit basket, wine, and amazing Kona coffee. We used the beach chairs and cooler the owner provided, and the condo had everything we needed for cooking in. We used the hot tub a couple of nights to relieve our sore feet after hiking! Activities we did and places we ate:- Swim with the Manta Rays at night. A MUST DO. - Blue Hawaiian helicopter ride over the valleys, waterfalls, and volcanoes. Stunning, majestic views.- Volcano house. We didnt get to see lava, but still interesting to see the caldera and steam pockets.- Luau at the Fairmont Orchid resort. Great food and show (worth the drive).- Drove northern route to Hilo. Stopped at various lookouts, Akaka falls, and best of all, the Hawaiian Botanical Gardens. Loved it!!- Sea Paradise catamaran sail and snorkel tour.- Green sands beach - 5.5 mile total hike, be prepared!- Heavenly coffee farms tour- Puna chocolate farm tour- Snorkeled at Honaunau Bay ("Two Step") and Kahalu'u beach.- Places to eat: Huggos, Theatery, Don's, Lava Java, Lavernes. Great food!

This condo is right on the water & the views are stunning. We couldnt get enough of them. Comfortable sofa & comfortable bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses & all sorts of utensils. All we had to buy was food. Several restaurants & stores are within walking distance. The only negative was a hiccup with the AC which was addressed immediately. If you want a relaxing place to stay in PARADISE with incredible views, Dans condo is your ticket.

Superb rental. Have been to HI multiple times and a frequent VRBO user. Property was as advertised... excellent unencumbered view and the sound waves below. Beach equipment was excellent which we don’t typically find. Communications were pleasant and the owner was very accommodating. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great Big Island experience!

Nice oceanfront condo

Neat & clean, oceanfront, nice pool & hot tub available, public beach next door, covered parking, and walking distance to numerous restaurants; what’s not to love about this place? The owners and handyman are extremely responsive and the neighbors are quiet.

Ocean View and cute condo!

We stayed here twice in 2 weeks. It was a perfect small condo with everything provided even a welcome basket our second visit! The VIEW is STUNNING! Watching the waves, maybe a few surfers in the mornings on the lanai is a great way to enjoy breakfast with a cup of coffee - Hawaii at the best. Honyl Beach is next door and where Wake boarding was invented. Everything was in the condo and the little things like nail polish remover was in cabinets. So thoughtful. Great beach supplies: 2 new chairs, umbrella and wake boards!! We would stay here again.

A first time trip to the Big Island

This was our 8th trip to Hawaii, but our first trip to the Big Island and we loved it. Kailua - Kona definitely had the Lahaina vibe to it which we had been missing. Being able to easily walk to Huggos for a nice dinner, Huggos on the Beach for happy hour drinks and casual dining, shopping and a nice little beach was super convenient. The view from the lanai overlooking the black lava rock coastline was amazing. It was perfect for relaxing mornings watching sunlit waves and gorgeous sunsets in the evening. We explored, snorkeled, shop and ate all over the island and were lucky to make it over to the Kilaeau while it was erupting which was a super rare/special experience. We will return to the Big Island and this unit for sure. Thanks Dan and Jana for sharing your piece of paradise.

A bit of Kona heaven

The view will grab your attention as you walk in. The ocean is right there! Next you realize how wonderful the Hawaiian furniture is and how clean the condo is. I’ve rented plenty of Vrbo condos and this was the cleanest ever. We love to cook and were quite pleased with the kitchen. The bed is comfortable and the walk in shower is nice. One week wasn’t enough.

Magnificent view from the Lanai

Property was perfect for two people. The view from the lanai was stunning for our morning coffee and evening relaxing. The water is tiffany blue as it breaks against the lava rocks. The condo had everything you need. We did not find it lacking in any way. The location was convenient also..clean and comfortable. We would not hesitate to rebook if we come back to the Big Island.

Lovely Oceanfront Condo

We had a wonderful week here. We found the condo clean and well stocked. The balcony is a great spot to enjoy the ocean and listen to the roar of the waves. Downtown Kona is a short walk away, so it’s easy to get to shops and restaurants. We really appreciated that the bed is one of the most comfortable we’ve found in a vacation rental. The comfort of the living furniture was alright, but not great - but I’m picky due to my back issues. The owner, Dan, was very easy to communicate with. Overall, I recommend this condo and would stay again.

Amazing ocean view

A great amenity is the sun shade on the lanai. It extends the amount of time to comfortably enjoy the afternoon and enjoy sound of the ocean waves.

Loved the roar of the ocean! Great location near restaurants and shops. Condo super clean and has everything required for a great stay—whether cooking a nice meal or heading to the beach.

Wonderful Condo and perfect location

Condo was spotless when we arrived. Kitchen was well equipped, had everything we needed. Less than a block from downtown Kona shopping and restaurant area. No worries about parking, just walk to town. Already reserved this unit for Dec 2025.

Still Just perfect

There are many places to stay in Kailua, but time after time, we have chosen this one. To us, it is just perfect. Dan, our host is easy to reach and is very kind.. There is new furniture in the living room! There is a lovely walk in shower with grab bars, and the bed is very comfortable. the whole unit is exceptionally clean and perfectly stocked.It's easy to be up early if you are on coast time, and there is nothing that we would rather do than sit outside in the comfortable chairs that are high enough to see over the rail, sip coffee, and watch the dawn come over the ocean,. Unless of coarse its sitting with something cold and delicious while the sun sets into the ocean right out in front.

Spectacular Ocean View!

This is a lovely oceanfront condo located within easy walking distance to town. It is very nicely decorated and comfortable, with brand-new furniture in the living room. The most amazing feature, though, is the large lanai, with a spectacular and expansive view of the ocean. Watching the beautiful sunsets each night with a glass of wine was wonderful and relaxing. We also really appreciated the ceiling fan and pull-down screen on the lanai, which made it very enjoyable even though it was quite warm out. The condo also has a nice kitchen with everything you need for preparing meals. We really enjoyed the Kona coffee provided by the hosts, which was a very nice touch. We would definitely stay here again, and really appreciated Dan's hospitality. Mahalo!

This unit is amazing. Lots of special touches. A gorgeous view. A very quiet clean building. It’s a short walk to shopping and restaurants too. We will definitely stay here again if we ever get to come back.
