Welcome to Gulf Dunes Resort, on beautiful Okaloosa Island. The powdery, sugar-white sands found here are unique to this exclusive area, and if you are fortunate enough to vacation here, you'll experience a beach vacation like nowhere else in the US. The island atmosphere of Okaloosa eliminates the crowded found in nearby Destin, while putting you within minutes of Destin Harbor and all of the attractions of the Emerald Coast.

Gulf Dunes Resort, unit 214 is decorated in a fun, beach theme, offering an away-from-home feel the minute you walk in. You'll immediately notice the breathtaking, direct ocean view from your private 3rd floor balcony. The living spaces and kitchen are upgraded with the latest tvs, furniture, and appliances.

The master bedroom has a king bed with adjoining private full bath. The walk through master bath has a vanity and access to the tub/shower and washer/dryer. The additional half bath is accessed from the master or the hallway. Hallway bunk beds, located just outside the bedroom, are perfect for kids or small adults. A queen air bed offers additional sleeping for a total of 6 family members. The kitchen is fully appointed and stocked so all you need to do is bring the food.

We provide bed linens, blankets, bath towels, etc. Please bring your own beach towels. Each Gulf Dunes unit has a private washer and dryer for your convenience. This rental will also include free WiFi and free Beach Service (1 set).

About the area: Okaloosa Island is part of a 30 mile stretch of continuous natural sand barrier. The ocean here is typically as clear as any water can be, with an emerald green color unique to this small area. The sands are pure white and powdery, like sugar, and the beaches are kept immaculately clean and safe by wonderful Okaloosa County authorities. There is plenty of fun right here on the island, from putt putt golf, to outdoor grills to fine dining and night life. We have a fishing pier just a mile away, which is also the home of the original Gulfarium Dolphin Exhibit. Take the kids to the Gulfarium to see dolphins perform, as well as their friends the walrus, sea lions, and penguins. They'll love it.

Okaloosa Island is located within Fort Walton Beach and near world famous Destin. Destin, a beautiful 10 minute drive to the East, where she will meet you with a picturesque view of the Destin Harbor at Harbor Walk Village. Destin is home to the largest private Gulf Fishing Fleet and busiest charter deep sea fishing fleet in the Southeast. If you are interested in good seafood, then just pick one of Destin's many dockside grills for a taste of the day's fresh catch.

The more adventurous may enjoy a jet ski dolphin tour, or a parasailing adventure. You may also find bungee jumping, go carting, golf, putt putt golf, water theme parks, outlet shopping and much more. Bring your family to our beautiful coastline, and take home memories of a lifetime.

This property is professionally managed, which ensures that you will receive friendly, professional service from reservation to departure. Your vacation accommodations will be clean and functional. We are local and provide same day assistance, and If you need anything during your stay, you can be assured that our courteous staff will be happy to assist you in any way.

This condo is very convenient to Destin and surrounding areas. Right on the beach with 2 pools. Had some issues with this condo and had to leave a few days early. Overall it was nice.

Easy Beach/Pool Access

Great one bedroom unit, was perfect for my wife and I and our 3 year old. Wonderfull gulf view from the balcony, and the beach and pool are less than a minute walk away. Umbrellas and chairs were a great amenity and the location is perfect - close to restaurants/shops. Unit was comfortable, decor is nice, and having the washer/dryer was a real bonus.

Perfecto!

Access to the beautiful beach is just what my wife and I wanted. The view from the balcony is fantastic of the emerald waters. We walked the beach every morning and were able to pop up to condo at lunchtime easily from the beach. Condo was comfortable and met our needs. We will definitely come again.

Wonderful time in Ft. Walton!

We had a wonderful time visiting Ft. Walton and staying at Gulf Dunes. We normally take vacation on the July 4th weekend and this was our first trip since I retired so we decided to go before Memorial Day. I would highly recommend it if you have the means. The traffic was light and we could get into all the restaurants with little or no wait. The unit was clean and the view was spectacular. Gulf Dunes is a nice resort to stay at!

We love the location and the fact that itā€™s not this giant condo with hundreds of people , inside was clean it even smelled clean like a new car !!! The view of the ocean is perfect and we could walk to a restaurant to eat at night , everyone is so friendly and chill we will definitely be back for our 3rd trip next year for our vacation/wifeā€™s birthday!!! Loved every moment except having to wake up on the last day to pack and leave !!! Gulf Dunes is the spot to be thank you all nothing but love from us to yā€™all !!!

Week at the beach

This was our 3rd time visiting and have always stayed at gulf dunes condos. Views are great. Beach is excellent. Chair service is very good. Local People are very friendly. The room is very nice. The owner needs to do some updating on pans and cookware. Aged and pans are worn. A table and chairs on balcony would be awesome to enjoy dinner and the gulf water views. We would stay there again in the future.

Not a show place if that is what you are looking for. Worn and not updated. Was clean and comfortable. Beach location and view is great. Beach not overly crowed Quiet. Does not have a queen size pull out sofa but did have a blow up bed. Did not have a covered parking space for this condo as advertised but parking was plentiful. Sunset resort was very helpful and responsive. Would rent from them again

Could be better maintained

Unit 214 is in need of a major makeover. You can tell that it needs painting and some modernization. The stove is an old electric stove and the metal rings donā€™t fit in the stove evenly and itā€™s hard to cook with the very cheap pots and pans. Everything you need is there but itā€™s the lowest quality items and the decore is mismatched and just not comfortable. Would not recommend or stay there again. Access to the beach is very easy so thatā€™s a plus. Also for a place that doesnā€™t allow dogs there sure was a lot of them barking early in the morning.

Clean but in dire need of care

The unit was clean but from badly needing a new mattress to a complete cosmetic overhaul. This unit is in a prime spot with a great view but you pay top price and I felt like I stayed in a 1970's Motel 6! The owners really need take the time for some TLC! Won't stay again until I see there has been some work done.

Good Place To Stay

This unit was perfect for us. It is right on the beach and has good gulf views. There was plenty of room for the two of us but unit can fit up to 6 people. It is a kid friendly unit and building. The unit was pretty clean and in good condition. It has a lived in feeling as there is some paint damage etc. Not a show place if that is what you like but very comfortable. Great if you have kids as you don't have to worry about every move they make. The master mattress was not good for us but that is a case by case thing for people. May be great for you. The rental company was very responsive to issues. AC went out and they had it fixed same day while we were out enjoying our stay. The building management takes good care of pool. It is a great location, close to lots of things to do. Beach was clean and beach service was good. We will stay here again in the future.

Pleasently surprised

We found this resort and room to be a good fit for our family vacation to Ft. Walton. The room was the perfect size for our family of four. The floor level was perfect to view the beach, pool, and surrounding area, not too high which is what we like. The size of the resort and occupancy wasn't crowded at all, which means the elevators weren't always packed or stopped on every floor. It had all the amenities a family would need, a fully equipped kitchen, and double stacked washer/dryer which we used often. The A/C was cold and kept the room comfortable. The living room had a large comfortable recliner and sofa. My only drawback was the bed in the master bedroom, which is in obvious need of replacement. It felt like we were sleeping in a hammock, not comfortable at all. I noticed others had mentioned the bed in other reviews and thought it was replaced and maybe it was but it didn't provide a comfortable night's rest. Sorry, just being honest. Otherwise, everything else was A+

Great vacation.

We stayed here for two weeks from 8/13/22. We loved the condo and the views from the balcony. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Loved having the free beach set up each day. Nice size beach never felt crowded. Property was clean and plenty of parking spots. Sunset Realty provided good service and check in was very easy. We would definitely return here. Thanks for a great vacation!
