We had a great week at Somes pond and Acadia Park. The home was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our trip. The location was great for Bar Harbor, many hiking trails and surrounding attractions. Host was helpful and the cabin is nestled in the trees with views of the pond. We had kayaks delivered from a rental company and were able to put them in the creak by the cabin and float out through the grass. Great memories were made. Thank you!

We loved our stay at this cozy, rustic cottage right on Somes Pond. The cottage is in the woods with a lovely view of the pond and windows everywhere--including sliding glass doors that open onto a deck that looks over the pond. There were some uncharacteristically hot and humid days during our stay, and the window A/C unit and dehumidifier made the whole place comfortable. The pond is a great place to swim and kayak, and there is easy access to all the delights of Acadia and MDI. Susan responded immediately when we had questions. We hope to stay here again.

Acadia Hiking Trip

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful setting and views from the deck. A great launch pad to get to Acadia National Park. Highly recommended place to stay for visits to this part of Maine

We had a wonderful stay! Lots of room in the living and dining room area for us to gather as a family but plenty of bedrooms to spread out for some peace and quiet. Gorgeous view of the pond and lovely babbling brook running through the property!

Quiet Getaway in Great Location

Our second time at this property! It is centrally located to so much of Acadia. Close to shopping and restaurants in Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor, so many hiking options, right on Somes pond - it's perfect. The house was great for our family of 4.

Great Location

We loved our stay at Somme's Pond cottage, it was such a great location and easy to get to all parts of the island from there. It also had such a lovely view and surrounding area. Everything about the house was as expected and very comfortable.

Fantastic stay!

We had a fantastic stay at the Somes Pond cottage. The surroundings are truly beautiful. The pictures don’t do it justice! We definitely want to come back next time we’re in Acadia.

Great location on Mt Desert Island

This cottage was in a great location on the island to reach all the hiking and adorable small towns easily. It is quiet at the cottage with a great view of Somes Pond and there is a babbling brook to listen to when the windows are open. We would absolutely stay here again.

Quiet Getaway in Acadia

We were looking for a convenient place to stay while touring Acadia and this cottage was everything we had hoped for. Only a few miles from hiking and biking trails as well as places for kayaking. Restaurants were also within 10-15 minutes in several directions. Would highly recommend it and would stay here again!

Location was fantastic for seeing wildlife (osprey, eagle, loons, deer) as well as ease of getting around the island. Just what we were looking for! Better lighting to play games in the evening would've been nice, and the kitchen could use better knives and skillets, but the beds were comfortable, and the pluses far outweighed the minuses. Would gladly come again!!

Cabin in the Woods

We booked this wanting to stay in a quaint cabin in the woods and that’s exactly what this was! The kids loved exploring the creek and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Thank you for providing the setting for some amazing memories!

Wonderful stay!

Although we had to cut our reservation short, the property was absolutely lovely. It is exactly what you would want for a family vacation. The sounds of the creek and the view of the marsh are spectacular. The house is comfortable, clean, and provides all the necessities. Susan was also extremely communicative and helpful during our stay.

Excellent location to visit Acadia and surrounding areas

This house was very clean and had everything we needed. Tons of room. There is a beautiful creek that runs by the house into the pond. The dinning room table is fabulous for playing games.

The cottage looked small from outside but very roomy inside. We enjoyed watching ospreys hunting fish, quiet sounds of streams running right next to the property, and the convenience of being on the island to visit many attractions of the NP. We could make lobster dinner with their huge pots. More than plenty towels were supplied.

The house had everything we needed, was centrally located for sight seeing, fishing, enjoying nature. On our last night we were serenaded by a chorus of bullfrogs and a delightful show of fire flies over the pond
