Terrible Experience with Real Joy Vacations - Hurricane IsaiasWe booked Hidden Dunes through VRBO for October 7–11, traveling with two other families whose condos had different hosts. The difference in customer service was unbelievable!While making our eight-hour drive, one of our friends received a call from their host about a potential hurricane. Its track was still uncertain, but their host was already discussing options and showing concern for their safety.That prompted us to call Real Joy. Their representative was rude and dismissive, making it clear that any financial consequences were our problem. As the storm developed, our friends' hosts continued providing updates, discussing options, and looking out for their guests. Real Joy? Their ONLY storm-related text asked us to bring porch furniture inside to protect it from damage. On October 8, we left under a mandatory evacuation order. Based on our earlier experience with Real Joy, we went straight to VRBO for assistance. We contacted VRBO October 9, 10, and 11. Each time, VRBO tried to reach Real Joy but got no response! VRBO was responsive and worked diligently to get this right for us.Then Real Joy texted, wanting to "CHAT" with us before posting anything less than five stars.ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The accommodations and location were great. It's a great place to stay, with plenty of room for a family of 4. I recommend staying here; I just don't advise doing business with this host.
