Welcome to Orchid House, a lushly landscaped canal front home located on the beautiful island of Key Colony Beach. This property is great for couples with boat dockage and access to the Cabana Club pool and beach included!

When you first drive up to the home, you are met with a large screened in porch with lots of seating for relaxing with a good book, glass of wine, or enjoying a nice meal al fresco. The porch is surrounded by lots of lush landscaping, keeping the property private and cool. Enjoy a glass of wine in the jacuzzi and soak up the relaxing view of Key Colony Beach's pristine canals!

Walk inside, and you have an open spacious living room with a pull out sofa and kitchen with large sliders overlooking the water. Down the hall, you have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms offering space and privacy for your family and guests.

Help yourselves to our bikes and kayaks and explore the island. Walk to restaurants, shopping, or Sunset Park. You will soon discover why Key Colony Beach is such a popular vacation destination with its Golf Course, Tennis Courts, and Children's Park.

Our home is a member of the Key Colony Cabana Club, and that is included in your rental. Enjoy their private sandy beach, heated and cooled pool and dining.

Soak in the hot tub or relax in the lounge chairs as you watch the boat traffic go by.

Key Colony has the absolute best canals in The Keys, wide, clean, and deep water. They
are also numbered at the end of each canal to coincide with the street numbers to make navigation to your vacation home by boat very simple.
The location, amenities, and landscaping make this the perfect location for a dream vacation to the Florida keys.

Great location

Nice quiet community and was very safe for our kids tonride bycyles thru the neighborhood. Being able to dock our boat at the house was a huge relief.

We had the most amazing and relaxing stay. The home was clean, well equipped, and perfect location. Gail was very communicative and helpful regarding anything we needed. We are already planning a return stay.

Exceptional property with outstanding management

The most impressive aspect of our experience with this property is the quality and commitment of the property manager. This is an old property and requires more than normal maintenance. Fortunately, the manager is exceptional and dedicated to the job.

Not what we thought

The house needs work. The only thing that’s nice is the kitchen. The beds are very uncomfortable and hard. Lots of cracks in the walls looks like from previous water damage. The biggest issue is property manager shows up unannounced looking for a coffee pot when she easily could’ve gave us a heads up she was coming. The hot tub people show up without a heads up. The vrbo app says check out is 9:30 am when the lady who handles the property will tell you it’s 9. They are very pushy about this. I mentioned it should be stated in the check out book and the app that check out is 9 not 9:30.The dock is beat up. And should be redone. It seems they are all about the money and not the safety of their guests. It’s next door to a big rental house which at the time had a large number of people staying there so it was very loud and not relaxing. They have a big cactus next to the walkway which can be painful walking by especially if you have to park two cars there. I’ve stayed at a lot of rentals and this one seemed to be the most difficult one yet. Will definitely choose a better option next time.

The Orchid house had everything we needed. Fish freezer was a added bonus. Hot tub was great! Host responded fast to all concerns. Loved being on a canal.

Relaxing home

The home had everything you could need, especially for cooking. It was very relaxing on the screened in patio, out door area, and hot tub. It was our first time in the keys and I could see us coming back just to spend and enjoy more time at the property. Great middle location to drive north or south for different activities.

Nice place

The place was just right for my fishing trip with my son. Since it was just the two of us, we had plenty of space and enjoyed the central location on Marathon. The host was amazingly responsive and easy to deal with. Thanks for a great visit!

Location, location, location!

This place is located in the beautiful Key Colony Beach area of Marathon, Florida. While here we used the kayaks and the access to the Cabana Club pool and beach area. The beverages at the Cabana Club are reasonably priced. The house is very comfortable and perfectly situated on a canal. We were able to see a mama manatee and her baby slowly swim by while enjoying a nice snack of whatever was under the dock. Had a rather unusual issue with the hot tub that was quickly remedied by the owner and maintenance person. Most importantly, the owner was always quick to respond anytime we had a question.

Great!

Great place to stay with very responsive host/manager! Everything was clean, well stocked with towels and pretty much everything you would need in the kitchen was available and well organized! Having the washer and dryer with detergent and dryer sheets was also so helpful! Any questions I had were responded to promptly! No complaints at all about this place and would recommend!

Orchid House

Thank you for our stay, and for accommodating my travel schedule. It meant a lot!!! We loved the orchids; it’s obvious that many years of tlc have gone into growing them. Spending lazy hours on the lanai was delightful. Much of the house has been updated: bathrooms, beds, kitchen, living room furniture, etc. This home has the potential to be a complete stunner if some of redundant and outdated clutter were removed and a few maintenance issues were attended to.

A good break.

We had 5 adults sharing the house. The screen porch breeze way was exceptional. Kitchen is well stocked. The TP ran out. The sofa bed wasn’t comfortable for 20’s who had just gotten engaged. I think the house is better for 4 but children would probably manage the sofa bed well. The hot tub worked well. We did not use the pool, preferring the Cabana Club. Very close to the Tesla Supercharger.

Well stocked, cutely decorated and the hot tub was a hit!

We enjoyed our stay. I was working from home this week and it was nice sitting on the porch overlooking the canal while getting some work done. The property management was very responsive to all of our needs and so was maintenance. I loved the way the house was decorated and the Kitchenaid appliances. The porch was awesome. The beds were comfortable. We had plenty of towels (with new ones dropped off the first day), cookware and even bicycles were provided for us to ride. The bottled water in the fridge was a nice touch. The hot tub was an absolute hit! We were in the hot tub almost every evening. There were a few things that needed to be fixed during our stay and overall the property needs to be updated, however it was still a nice stay. I think if they correct those small things it could be dynamite place if you love KCB. We rented a boat from Captain Pips and the house was easy to find on the canal. The dock is functional but honestly, it should just be replaced. The boat lift is basically a coral reef. One of the deck boards on the dock holding the cleat our boat was tied to completely pulled off of the dock during the night and the deck board was just hanging off of the side of the boat the next morning. Luckily nothing happened and maintenance was there quickly to fix it that day. Our boat was a 19' and the way the dock is situated we had to tie the back of it to the boat lift that juts out a couple of feet farther than the rest of the dock, and the front to a pylon bc we didn't trust the cleats on the dock. So I wouldn't recommend trying to tie up anything much bigger because you have to tie it at a weird angle. The maintenance man also fixed the dishwasher that wasn't attached to the cabinets. He replaced the shredded grill cover and we were told that the dry rotted hot tub cover that kept ripping would be replaced and was on order. The first shower is weird with only 1/2 of a long pane of glass as a curtain so you soak the bathroom when you shower. The second shower does have a full door so it's better suited for helping kiddos rinse off. The house is concrete block which helps keep it quiet inside even if there's an all night Latin rager going on next door and you have a 7 year old. The internet was great up until Friday early morning where it apparently wanted me to stop working. LOL But honestly, I was fine with that. :) Despite the minor issues it was a nice stay and everyone was so attentive and responsive!

Great place to stay!

This place was so relaxing from the time we stepped out of our car. You walk into a screened in porch that is like another living room with a breeze blowing through it, they had relaxing music playing as you walk in the door and throughout the house. This house had everything that you could possibly think of to be on vacation in the keys, bait freezer, kayaks, fish cleaning station, completely furnished kitchen and plenty of counter space. Michelle was awesome communicating with us. Thanks for a great family vacation we enjoyed it very much and will plan on staying here again!

Fishing near marathon

Great location to get out in the ocean or gulf for great times on the water. The property has everything you need even including a bait freezer and hot tub.
