Blue Gecko at Safety Harbor - Entire Home PLUS Guest House

Welcome to Safety Harbor, site of the Hallmark feature film, Love in the Sun! Centrally located between Tampa, St. Pete and Cl earwater Beach (and just an hour from Orlando!), this home is perfect for your entire family. The thoughtfully furnished main house is a fully renovated 1920’s Florida bungalow with large gourmet kitchen. It shares a large fenced-in private yard with the newly renovated guest house. Your family will love the shaded deck, lighted gazebo, charcoal grill & much more!

This sparkling vacation home is appointed with the whole family in mind. Plenty of off-street parking, a large private fenced yard, deck and lighted gazebo provide indoor and outdoor space for the entire family. The main house features a large living room with a 58” TV, 3 bedrooms (sleeps 7), 2 full baths, large dining room, and fully-equipped kitchen with separate coffee bar.
The adjacent guest house has 1 bedroom (sleeps 3) with 1 full bath (shower) and a fully-equipped kitchen newly-renovated in June 2021 .
The house includes a huge driveway that can accommodate up to 8 vehicles. Additional on-street parking is available.
A whole-house water softener provides good tasting, soft water throughout.
Some starter coffee pods and welcome snacks will be available on arrival.
A washer & dryer are available, as well as a charcoal grill, one bike and toddler trailer, pack and play (2), play yard, high chair, cornhole, beach chairs and assorted children's toys. There is also an Uppababy Cruz Stroller with Piggyback Platform available for use (stored in the dining room closet).
The property is immaculately cleaned by professionals before each guest arrives.
A computer monitor, keyboard, HP Laserjet P3015 printer and Scansnap S510 scanner (all wired) are available in the house. (No paper or technical assistance included).
Wi-Fi and smart TVs (with Roku or Amazon Firestick systems) are also included. A 30 amp RV outlet is available for an additional daily charge. Details available upon request.

Beautiful home and hosts

My family and I love the Blue Gecko; it is our home away from home. The home is always very clean, comfortable, and the hosts are the best. We do not feel spied on or micromanaged. We are allowed to enjoy the home and our stay. When visiting the area, this is the only place we will stay. Thanks Mike and Beth.

Wonderful house and hosts

Our group of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this great location. It had everything we needed. We would recommend staying here in this beautiful town. You can walk to town, walk to the bay, and there is plenty of parking.

We were there for a baseball tournament with our boys. 3 dads and 3 10 year old boys. Great place and very clean. The owners were really great with communication. Definitely will be back.

Perfect girls trip

This property is clean, well decorated and cozy! The neighborhood has a school close by and is well lit for some evening pickle ball. It is close to Safety Harbor downtown. It was an easily drive to Crystal River. Mike, the owner, was super responsive to our needs! We would book here again in a heart beat.

My husband and our grown children and their significant others all stayed here together. My husband and I took the mother in law suite out back and loved it. We walked down to the water and along the boardwalk one morning and to Nona Slice another! We also enjoyed hanging out in the comfy living room!

Wonderful!

The Blue Gecko house was perfect for our family Christmas. They had great quality baby equipment, and the separate living space for our newlyweds. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were comfortable and well equipped. Great communication with the owners as well.

The best VRBO I’ve ever stayed at all around

This property is by far best for families and has everything you need and I mean everything. The home owner are the most polite and accommodating. I love this house it is so beautiful and well located to food and shopping within walking distance. I will rent every time I come to this location in the near future. Great weekend getaway

Came over from Melbourne Beach for a visit to the gulf and Busch Gardens with our 4 kids (one grown with husband and two kids under 2 took the master) and exchange student from Germany. Her last weekend in the US was a great one! efexchangeyear.org/iec/lisa-mohrman/ My husband and I enjoyed the studio apt out back. Perfect layout, lots of kids toys to play with, well stocked, super location and great area near lots of shops and restaurants. Enjoyed strachans for ice cream. Hosts were super accommodating.

Blue Gecko, Safety Harbor FL

This was my family's first visit to Safety Harbor. We loved that Blue Gecko was a short walk to restaurants, bars, shops, and the waterfront. The main house and guest house were clean, nicely decorated, and well-equipped. The outdoor space, front porch and back deck, were very pleasant. Our hosts Mike and Beth were attentive to our needs. They left clear instructions, making check in and out and finding things around the house easy. We would definitely return to Safety Harbor and stay at Blue Gecko again!

Home Away From Home

The house itself and the overall experience were outstanding. Safety Harbor is a wonderful setting, with something for everyone – nature lovers, foodies, people watchers, etc. In addition to providing easy access to a number of top attractions in the area, the house was spotless, well decorated, well equipped and comfortable for our extended family. The large yard and children’s toys and equipment made it especially fun for our multigenerational group. The hosts were amazing – thoughtful and responsive to every situation and need. We give “Blue Gecko” our highest recommendation.

Home away from home

This is our second stay at the Blue Gecko, and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The home is well maintained and clean. Having a clean place to stay is very important to me and my family. The hosts (Mike & Beth) are very responsive and kind. They allow you to feel at home during your stay - no multiple sheets of paper listing rules and regulation for you to read. You also do not feel spied on. I love the Blue Gecko and it will be our place to stay on all our trips to the area. It is our Home away from Home!

Blue Gecko in Safety Harbor

6 adults stayed here for Phillies spring training games. The house is in a good location within walking distance of Safety Harbor shops, restaurants and the waterfront. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the Phillies complex and about 25 minutes from Clearwater Beach (depending on traffic). The house and the additional outbuilding were perfect for the 6 of us. The main house slept two couples while another couple used the completely self-contained extension of the garage. It was everything we needed for our quick getaway. If I could give the hosts more than 5 stars I would. They were very accommodating to our separate arrivals and eventually delayed departures, and they were very responsive to our needs.

Great Family Stay in Safety Harbor

This clean, comfortable home was just right for our family group. The members with children stayed in the main house, while the grandparents enjoyed peace and quiet in the backyard apartment. So many nice little touches…toys and games and a fenced yard for kiddos, ample supplies (including facial tissues), and the snacks and K cups for the Keurig machines (one in each kitchen) were much appreciated. The location is good for easy access to Tampa and Clearwater, but we didn’t realize how much we would enjoy Safety Harbor. The town is an attractive, walk-able village boasting a variety of good local restaurants just a few blocks away from the house on Main Street. The owner was very responsive and friendly. When we initially experienced a glitch in our booking dates, he immediately responded and resolved it. We would be happy to return!

Great Grandparent Connection

We came with our son and his young family to the area so that their 3 children, 3 year old twin boys and their 9 month old baby brother, could meet their great grandparents in person. My parents live about ten minutes from Blue Gecko. The rental arrangement was perfect: my husband and I stayed in the studio apartment and my son and his family in the house. Both places were charmingly decorated: appealing to adult tastes, yet whimsical for younger tastes. Clearly the owners are grandparents: toys and children's books as well as other items were available! The house and studio apartment were immaculate and well equipped. Our host was attentive and good at communicating with me before and during our stay. When the local power went off our first night there, he verified the problem with the provider and gave us more details about what was going on. He was ready to contact them directly if the problem had persisted, but thankfully we didn't have to wait too long before we had power again. Safety Harbor is a great town in a quiet area. Tampa and several beaches are nearby. Philippe Park, one of my favorite places in the Clearwater area, is about a ten minute drive from the rental. My family had a great time in Florida, and Blue Gecko was a big part of that!

We had a wonderful stay at The Blue Gecko. We found the property to be just like the description and Michael was very quick to answer any questions I had. Safety Harbor is a delightful small town on Tampa Bay with wonderful shops and restaurants. I would love to visit again.
