'Whatta View' & No Steps, 2 Slip Covered Dock, Hot Tub, Ping Pong, Pool Table

This lovely 5 bedroom, 3 bath home has been recently renovated from top to bottom. Enjoy the expansive view from the covered back decks. Added a 4 person side by side to come and go to the water at no extra charge. The upper deck offers seating for 19 and the lower deck holds the hot tub, ping pong table, corn hole and more outdoor seating. 3 bedrooms join full bathrooms and 2 bedrooms share a full hall bath. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy or gather on the main level in the large great room where there is an 85" smart TV for streaming, a 10' dining table, plus additional bar seating. The main level also has a bedroom with a king and a twin size bed and it joins the full hall bath. Upstairs are 2 large bedrooms with 2 queen beds in each room and a full shared bath in between them. The lower level has 2 additional bedrooms with a queen and a twin bed in each room. These 2 bedrooms share a full bath in the hall. Also, on the lower level is a large recreation area with a sofa, love seat, a recliner, 65” smart TV’s, ‘Doc & Pies’ arcade game, pool table, full size fridge, small drink fridge, ice maker, kitchenette, round game/card table and easy access to the private hot tub. All bedrooms and living areas have smart TV’s for streaming. Outside you will find plenty of level parking in the semi-circle drive and no steps to enter the main level. There is a firepit with wood/kindling/roasting sticks and the dock is massive at 1,800 sq. ft. with 2 covered slips, electric and a huge partly covered swim platform. There are 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and chairs/tables. Bring the family and enjoy our home. We love sharing it with families and letting you make memories that last a lifetime. We pride ourselves with the best equipped homes and the cleanest ones on Norris Lake. We provide house towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, hand soap, dish soap, laundry supplies, natural gas griddle, citronella candles/butane lighter and all the amenities you could ask for and enough for your entire stay - not just starter supplies. Wonderful!

Had a great stay! House was very clean. Plenty of room for the 12 of us to have separate space, if needed. Easy walk (or ride with the side by side) to the dock. Dock had great protection to protect the boats from wakes since house/dock is just off the entrance to a cove.

Wonderful property. As others have noted, Marie has a well stocked home, not only in the kitchen but smaller touches like Kleenex and hangers and plasticware (as well as regular flatware). Very clean. Best selection of pots & pans I’ve seen and really appreciate that non stick skillets were new or in great shape! Plenty of places to sit and take in the lovely view. The dock is nice and although it is not in a no wake area of the lake, it is well padded for your boat. A great choice for your Norris Lake vacation.

Thank you very much for staying with us and taking the time to write a review. We try to always keep things as if we were the ones checking in and I hate when the cookware is scratched so that’s an every spring checklist item for me. I appreciate your comments because it does take a lot to keep these homes supplied but we do our best. We do have another home that’s smaller and it’s in a cove if you ever have a group of 12 or less and don’t mind about 60 steps to the water. We also own the home next door to the one you were in if you have larger groups. Thanks again. Hope to see you soon.

Great Owners

I have stayed in quite a few rental properties and the attention to detail and the amenities provided in this house were the best I've experienced. The owners were very communicative, lived locally and were very attentive to any request we had during our stay. I highly recommend others to stay at this property.

Thank very much. We try our best to make sure you have everything to make your stay the most enjoyable it can be. That’s why we include a lot of things like the toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soaps, laundry detergent, sheets, towels, etc. Not to mention all the level parking. Lol. Thank you all for staying with us. Keep us in mind in the future. It’s also a great place in the fall, not necessarily for boating and going to the marinas, but for boating and just looking at the fall foliage. Hope to see you all soon.

Great Experience!

This was by far the cleanest and nicest lakefront property we've ever stayed at. We enjoyed our time and working with the property manager was a great experience. We will be back!

Thanks for staying with us. We just purchased a 4 seater side by side 4x4 to add for next season as well. My husband said he saw little ones playing with their toys on the beach bank area in the dirt (he was moving the dock out to keep it floating). We love that no matter what time of year families are making beautiful memories. Love to see kids play and families enjoy. Hope to have you and yours again.

Awesome home

We rented this home over Memorial Day week and had an amazing time. Everything you need is provided, and the mule makes getting to and from the water a breeze. Marie is a dream host. She's super easy to communicate with and goes above and beyond your typical VRBO host. We will definitely be back.

Great week at Norris

This home has EVERYTHING you could need in a rental house. There was every kitchen and bath supply, including napkins, paper towels, dishwashing liquid, and plenty of linens. The only thing we needed to bring were lake towels. The side by side was great for transporting coolers to and from the dock. We would definitely stay again.

Thank you. I try to tell everyone don’t bring toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. we supply it ALL for the entire stay. Just bring your family, food and yep lake towels. Thanks so much for the review. See ya next time……We also have Anchors Away next door you can try.

Perfect lakehouse vacation

The property was great, everything was as described. The property owner was very responsive to our questions. Our family does a lakehouse rental every summer and we all agreed this one was one of the best. The UTV was great for getting supplies and people to the lake. If you are towing a boat the boat ramp is super close. Parking is ample. We will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for sharing your home.

Thank you for staying and glad you enjoyed. Our parking/driveway is one of the best in the lake (I’m a Realtor and I’ve seen some bad ones lol). Plus we also have the ‘additional parking’ area just seconds away if anyone wants to utilize that. Hope you enjoyed all the amenities……..kayaks, paddle boards, hot tub, ping pong table, fire pit/wood/roasting sticks, UTV, etc. As always, if there’s anything you can think of that we could add please let me know. Amazing place

House was perfect for our family lake trip. Very clean and well stocked. Proximity to jump rock, cave and marinas was a definite plus. Owner is very responsive to any questions we had but those were few - mainly the boat launch location. Only issue we had (and not any issue w/ the property itself) was navigating those narrow roads to and from the the boat launch with a large pontoon boat/trailer. Not for the inexperienced. Though we are adept at this it was still a bit dicey at times. Would definitely stay again.

Creating Family Memories

We were able to create so many wonderful family memories on our vacation at Norris Lake (July 2023). “Whatta View” was the perfect place to start - Beautiful home, peaceful lake views, and certainly ALL/EVERYTHING you will need to enjoy and relax during your stay. Marie was a great host for checking-in and responding quickly to any of our questions or needs. Also, PLENTY of supplies -- in the Kitchen, adult & children’s games, water toys, boat dock, and more, so you never had to worry about “forgetting something”. Planning our next family vacation already.

Whatta View Norris Lake

We can not say enough about our first visit to Norris Lake and staying at Whatta View Lakehouse. It was a beautiful house with everything we needed. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, pans, utensils, and anything and everything you can imagine. The griddle grill made for a great barbecue for breakfast and dinner! The side by side Gator cart made it super easy to get the older folks down to the boat dock! the owner was fantastic and responded right away! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place!

Great house for groups

Our family loved the house, our teenage boys each brought friends, we cooked dinner and breakfast each day so the black stone, 2 fridges and large enough kitchen with pantry were key. Downstairs area with pool table and hot tub became the kids main domain! The ATV to take coolers and supplies up and down the hill to the jet skis and boat was awesome. We used the paddle boats and kayaks every day. They are close to a marina great for getting gas and to jumping rock. The views are STUNNING! The beds are a bit firm, but all the bedding is nice and the house is Stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, plastic cutlery and napkins, laundry soap, dish soap, hand soap and toiletries baskets. The owners manage the property with care. Great rental!

Do not book if you need a service animal

The house and property are amazing and everything you might want is provided. We decided to vacate the property a day ahead of schedule to give us enough time to try to remove all dog hair from my disabled veteran nephew’s service animal due to the owners severe allergies. Even though VRBO properties must allow service animals to comply with federal and state laws, the owners objected to our service animal in a way that put a damper on our enjoyment of our vacation. As a result, we decided to leave a day early and rent a hotel for our final day.

Communication is key. When I came down to our property on Thursday to meet an engineer to look at the dock for evaluation I was totally caught off guard with the truck/camper parked at the road with an extension cord running to our home. It looked like a fire hazard waiting to happen for our house or the camper or both. This is not just a vacation rental as we are there the majority of the year. While I was on the dock is when I noticed the huge amount of dog hair everywhere as I am highly allergic. When I asked about these two things you said your nephew and his dog were staying in the camper. Your nephew and his dad (was my understanding) came out and met us as my husband (who is an electrician) was looking at the camper electrical setup and explained it was a service dog and THEY said he was staying in the camper and would not be in the house and we left after chatting with them for at least 45 minutes and thought all was good. During which time I NEVER saw the dog which is supposed to be by the owners side at all times and under his control via leash or voice. I was not aware until late in the day on Saturday when I texted you the standard check-out reminder for Sunday morning that you were already gone as we had not been back by the property since Thursday evening. I wish we had known you all had pulled out early so the cleaners could have gotten started. It definitely took a lot longer to clean with the dog hair but worse than the dog hair was the failure to follow the check-out instructions (linens were scattered throughout the house and not in the designated location), furniture and décor was moved everywhere, trash was not removed from inside the home, food all over the countertops and floor, red sauce splattered on kitchen wall and white cabinets, red juice or something all over grey bathroom rugs, and several linen items needed to be replaced (1 quilt, 1 queen fitted sheet, 4 wash cloths, 1 kitchen towel and 3 bath towels). In over 17 years of renting this was by far my worse experience.

Everything it said it was and more

Marie was amazing to rent from. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was nothing less than perfect. She even brought us lanterns when we lost power for 6 hours. The house and property were exactly as described. The house was clean and beautiful. There were enough supplies, garbage bags, toilet paper and paper towels to last the whole week. Most places hust have enough for a couple days. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. The boat dock was nice having room for 2 boats which with a group of 13 you need 2 boats. They had a peddle boat, 2 kayaks, and 2 paddle boards. The house had pool table and board games. There's also a hot tub, ping pong table and corn hole boards, which came in handy because we had one day it rained all day. I would recommend this house for anyone. The side by side made the short trip to the dock easy for all ages. The Hitchcock and Eickhoff family's will return forsure.

Whatta View Indeed!

My husband and I, our 6-year-old son, parents and sister and brother-in-law enjoyed a weeklong stay at Whatta View. So many positives about this house it's hard to know where to start. So, we'll go with the obvious...the VIEW! Something we loved about the view, was that you are looking across the lake to undeveloped land. So, you aren't facing other houses. Just beautiful Norris Lake. The house is three levels with a great layout. Two bedrooms upstairs share a jack and jill bathroom. The main floor has a master with the attached hall bath. The basement level also has two bedrooms that share a bathroom. Roomy is an understatement. You can spread out in this house and still have plenty of space. Huge big screen TV in the main room with plenty of seating for all. So many cute touches in the décor that celebrates the lake life. We certainly enjoyed all the amenities. The pool table got a lot of use, as well as ping-pong, the cute custom Norris Lake corn hole boards and the HOT TUB! It was so nice when temperatures dropped to get in and warm up and enjoy the lake view. The fire pit, down near the water, was a special treat to roast marshmallows. There are plenty of seats and even a table. And firewood and skewers were provided. The dock has two picnic tables and 4 chairs for your comfort. We fished off the dock each day. Kayaks and a paddle boat were also such a treat to have provided. The waters were so clear and clean, which was lovely. It is a steeper trek down to the dock but completely doable. Marie the owner gives plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, softener, etc. The kitchen literally is stocked with any type of cookware you would need. With plenty of plates, utensils, silverware, etc. We would definitely love to stay again and look forward to that time. Norris Lake is a beautiful area. We also were close enough (50 min) to go to Knoxville and enjoy the zoo one day and dinner. We rented a pontoon from the local marina to enjoy the lake as well. The only thing we would love to see next time, would be faster internet speeds. All in all, this is one not to be missed if looking for a house that literally provides all the amenities and Whatta View!

I had missed your post but actually glad I did. We just got a much much higher speed internet installed and it’s working great!!! We keep adding to the homes. We just bought a brand new 4 seater 4x4 side by side for guests to use this next season too. One for this home and next door ‘Anchors Away’. You will absolutely love it!!! Hope to see you again.

Whatta View is exactly what it has

Super clean , very updated and kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would ever need to cook with. Definitely would stay again.

Thank you all for staying. We do try to stock everything we can think of and clean it thoroughly. Sometimes people want early checkin and we just can’t because it takes 6+ hours with 3 people to clean it to suit me. I’m a Realtor and I’ve seen a lot of rentals when they go up for sale and they are just not clean. Anyway, thanks for staying and hope to see you again soon.

This home features one of the best open water views on Norris Lake and yet one of the most gentle slopes to the lake. We have lots of outdoor space for guests to gather. A nice 1,800 sq ft aluminum dock with total bumpers around the slips and additional bumpers on the poles. We do get some wake but we enjoy riding the waves on tubes/floats and don't forget 'Whatta View'.....that's what we like the most. Our neighborhood is home to one of the nicest public boat launches in the county and it is 2 miles away to make your stay even better. All of our neighbors are great and its a good mix of vacation rentals and owner occupied homes. It's not the 'party place' but it is the come relax and enjoy Norris Lake community. We're happy to be a part of it.
