The Harvest House is home to a delightfully rustic interior complete with a wood stove and hardwood floors, yet the updated full kitchen, sauna, and free WiFi will provide you with plenty of modern comforts. The two-story layout is well designed too, as the four bedrooms call the upper-level home for separation between the living areas and sleeping areas. When you really want to relax, be sure to soak in bliss. under the stars in the hot tub!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Overall, the house was just okay. It is an older property, and there were several issues that affected our stay.First, the hot water had a very strong unpleasant smell when showering — similar to a rotten egg or sulfur smell. We believe this may be related to the water heater or plumbing system. In addition, there were quite a few insects inside the house, including spiders, ladybugs, and flies, which made the space feel less clean and comfortable.However, the most serious issue was that the listing description was misleading. The listing clearly states that there is a “private hot tub,” which reasonably implies exclusive use for our stay. We booked this property expecting a fully private experience.After arriving, we discovered that there is another apartment connected behind the main house that is rented to other guests. The backyard and parking area are shared, and most importantly, the hot tub is shared between both units. This was not disclosed anywhere in the listing. Sharing a hot tub with strangers is something we are completely uncomfortable with, and had this been clearly stated, we would not have booked this property.This lack of transparency was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We strongly believe the listing should clearly state that the hot tub and outdoor areas are shared to avoid misleading future guests.

Our overall impression of the house is not great. All of the floors sag/squeak with every step. There was a dangerous long splinter in the floor which could have injured our son/friends' kids. The second floor was over 90 when we arrived, but when opening the windows and setting up the fans to try to cool the space, all the fans were very dirty and there were tons of dead flies in the windows on the sills. Lots of ladybugs and other insects inside as well the entire time we stayed there. Very dark, not cozy at all for our anniversary getaway and some of the bathrooms got no hot water to the showers. There also seemed to be a weird smell when using some of the bathrooms which i think is an issue with the septic system/venting pipes in the house. The sauna had shades that were covered in mildew, so we did not use this at all during our stay. The maintenance guy who came removed these and was ordering new ones, but we still did not feel comfortable to use the sauna after seeing how much mildew there was in there. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay and did not find it worth what we paid with all the fees for three nights.

Comfortable for a large group

Needed a reasonable place to stay while the kids played a tournament. Kitchen was great for cooking large meals. Not fancy but clean and reasonable. We had a good time!

Nice space for a large family

Home has a nice layout and was very comfortable. Well appointed kitchen. Hot tub was fun! Bring bottled water for drinking as the well water is a bit sulphury.

Fire alarm Rang when we sleep Everyday that we stay 3night

I had a very bad experience. Fire alarm Rang when we sleep it was loud, and it went quiet and got louder again 3-5time a day. I feel like I don't get enough sleep . The pillows were quite old, and the water in the bathroom 1st floor flowed very lightly. The bathroom can't be locked. Tv can't choose something to watch much.It was a really terrible experience. I stay there for 3 nights. I contacted the host and the agent. Very difficult to contact and did not solve any problems.

What it needed to be

The short version: This is NOT a vacation rental... This is a place for you and 13 people to sleep to be 15 min from Stowe and 2 min from the nearest shuttle stop. Number of small inconveniences throughout the stay but all in all a pretty place and somewhat well kept. The LONG version: Lot of weird stuff along the way that dimmed the experience. First thing you notice is a lot of light bulbs are out... Not sure why, but was annoying. Then, the kitchen sink is stuck on spray mode and will soak you and anyone in a five foot radius. Then, the bunk bed mattresses feel like cardboard. Then, the hot tub isn't on when you arrive so we could not use it that night. In fact, we couldn't get in touch with Vacassa so we reset the breaker ourselves. Then, the third day we get back from the mountain and there is somebody in our unit..? They were performing hot tub maintenance and had refilled the hottub and of course now we couldn't use it at it is 54 degrees. Grr. Guy said they were told there were new renters coming in tonight Oh well there is a sauna right? NO. The sauna is very broken, two different control panels and neither of them work. Don't be fooled, they won't have fixed it by the time you book it, multiple other reviews say the same. Then, the worst part. The property clearly has well water and there must be no filters or something because the tap water is disgusting. Undrinkable IRON TASTE and showers will smell like EGGS. It all worked out, but just sucked at times

Clean and comfortable

The house is really nice, in a classic VT farmhouse way. The kitchen is modern and well stocked with all the needed cooking equipment. Very nice. Plenty of room for up to 8 people to sit in the living room. Nice big TV and Vermont Wood stove. Bathrooms are older but work well. Plenty of hot water. Will be back!

Great location, plenty of space

This house is conveniently located along the main road in Stowe and short drive to town center and Stowe Mountain Resort. Plenty of space and linens were clean. Hot tub stopped working several times. Customer service was available onsite and via app to fix it which was great. Water does have an odor but is harmless. Would definitely stay again.

Charming but many flaws

This home was only 20 min from Stowe Mtn. A huge plus. The beds were comfortable. But that’s where my good review ends. The towels were tiny and scratchy. The walls had constant bugs crawling. The shower and water smelled like rotten eggs and almost unusable. And 2 out of the 3 toilets were clogged. The sauna didn’t work and the hot tub broke twice. The owners have a lot of work to do before they rent this place again!!

Disappointing and Dirty

I have been making a this memorial day trip every year for 12 years to stowe and never had a place like this. The worst part is anyone who walks into this place can identify most of these problems with in 5 minutes of being inside so it's not just an oversight. First off the hot tub is gross, tried cleaning it for 20 minutes and still just not usable because of how dirty it was, probably weeks and weeks or neglect. Next up the sauna had 2 broken windows. The water for the house has a terrible odor to it, kind of like pennies. As a result the showers were terrible, brushing your teeth terrible, any time using the kitchen sink terrible. There was a hamburger left in the microwave for an unknown amount of time. The window sills had piles of dead flies on them. The beds are not comfortable at all and make a lot of noise. The heating vents had a lot of trash/debris in them. The outside of the building was also dirty. Most of these problems are easy fixes but it's clear there is not a lot of love put into this place. I relayed all my issues to the owners and they did not deny the condition of the place and offered no explanation or compensation

Harvest House

The house was good for our group gathering. There was plenty of room, beds, and towels. Location into Stowe and surrounding areas was great. The kitchen supplies were adequate but more kitchen towels would have been nice (3 were only supplied). Keep in mind that this house is on the older more rustic side, but was clean and comfortable.

Great place little issues

House was fantastic. perfect distance from the mountain, kitchen was perfect, living room are had plenty of seating and all were comfy. Only issues I had was with the bathrooms, one had a shower that would not drain, and the other had a shower faucet that only dribbled water out. Pretty disappointing and quite frankly gross in the upstairs bathroom. Leaving one working shower for 11 people.

Good Property for Stowe Mtn

We had 11 adults stay in this property comfortably. The hot tub was not in service during our trip and due to working with a third party it was not fixed during our stay. This was disappointing because it was a big reason we rented the property as 3 of the adults do not ski and those of us that do were excited to decompress in a hot tub. The water has a very strong sulfur smell, buy bottled water. This also was an issue with showers as the smell was so strong taking a shower back to back was a little uncomfortable and felt dirty. The tubs also did not drain well when showering. The location of this property to Stowe mountain was the best part about the property. I would recommend this stay for those who are going to Stowe to ski / board but not really for other visitors. The fireplace was great and warmed the house beautifully. The sauna was good for getting warm and drying our gear.

Short Ski Trip

We had a party of 12 staying in this 4 bedroom property. It was about a 20 min drive to the slopes. As far as older homes go, this one had its quirks but it was well appointed. It had all the pots, pans, dishes, and towels you could need. Only odd thing was the water - it had a very strong sulphur smell so we did not drink from the tap. Purchased gallons of water from the local Shaws.
