Great Family Vacation Spot

The Sea Oats location was perfect for our family vacation. It was close enough to all the tourist activities without being right in the middle of it. We enjoyed the deeded access to the beach and the pools! We went back and forth between both throughout the days!

Great place to stay

We particularly loved that this property was on the bay as well as directly across the street from the beach, allowing us to enjoy time at the beach and do a little fishing if we wanted to. The pool was usually not overcrowded and was very enjoyable. We would love to stay at Sea Oats A203 again in the future.

We had a great time

We liked the location just across the street from the beach a short walk. The condo had most of the amenities we needed and was comfortable. I should have asked more questions as we came empty handed in regards to things like hand soap, tissues and spices for cooking etc.. I didnā€™t know it was on the second floor with no elevator but thatā€™s my fault for not checking first. I really liked the decor and there were plenty of towels and dishes. I would mention that the frying pans were scratched through the Teflon so we didnā€™t use them, but there were plenty of other pans. The burner on the coffee pot didnā€™t heat so coffee got cold but we rewarmed it in the microwave. We had plenty of ice in the freezer. We only ate in once, there are so many great places near by to eat! The balcony had nice tall chairs to sit and enjoy the weather. We also enjoyed the big pool, wish there was a little shade there. Weā€™ll bring an umbrella next time we come. All in all a nice place to stay and enjoy the beach and the town!

Antiquated property

The floor was Sandy and dirty, the place had not been dusted. The accommodations appeared newer on the website then in reality. The televisions did not work well in the front room.

Absolutely awful, save your money!

There was dirty bathing suits and food in the couch on the pullout bed. Trash, toys and food under the beds. Dirty dishes in the cabinets. Blankets that smelt like a dirty musty old house. The walk way/stairs smelt like cigarette and weed smoke. When we called for assistance we were greeted with the remark of "do you really need me to come clean that up?" ā€” when we asked for a cleaning refund we were given a $58 refund which is a slap in the face after washing the bedding and towels ourselves and our kid had to sleep on the floor all week. It sleeps 6 and we were given exactly 4 towels that felt stiff, scratchy and hard. The condo was outdated, beds and pillows hard as a rock, the WI-FI and TVs didnt work half of the time, the sofa bed was broken and Vacasa KNEW about it when we called stating it was stuck in the air forcing our kid to sleep on the dirty floors. After several calls and texts a few Vacasa cleaning and maintenance people came but nothing was truly fixed or made right. They were clearly frustrated for us but had limited access or resources to help us themselves. The people on the phone and local property managers could have cared less and made that very clear. We spent a lot of money and worked very hard to come on this trip. The CONDO was not worth it. We travel a lot, we are not hard to please and complain very little. We hardly leave reviews so the fact that Iā€™m taking the time to do this says ALOT. Never, ever again.

Very good, but room for improvement

Our stay was overall very pleasant. The vacasa staff were responsive and welcoming. The unit had everything we needed. That said, there is definitely room for improvement. For example, there was only one pillow provided for each person. The bath towels left lint all over our bodies. No beach towels were provided. The WiFi was unreliable.

Quick getaway

We had a wonderful time, the house was great. Would have been better if there was an elevator because my mom has health issues and the 4 flights of steps were very hard on her. We didnā€™t know there were that many steps. Had a good time fishing behind the place in the lagoon, lots of pelicans and a huge turtle kept us company!

Very comfortable, updated condo.

This condo is in a nice/safe location & had all the basic amenities. We enjoyed the balcony & fished often direct from the pier. Would definitely rebook.

Unfortunately very unhappy with the cleanliness

This could easily be a great little stay. We loved the location, but the cleanliness was not up to our standards. The rugs and carpet had lots of stains which made the place feel dirty and we definitely did not want to walk around barefoot. But the worst part was all of the mold. There was mold on the shower curtain, on the ceiling above the shower, and the countertop in the kitchen has pulled away from the wall in the kitchen from what looks like moisture and mold as well. There was also a fowl moldy smell in the kitchen. Because I am 8 months pregnant, I felt unsafe staying there. I reached out to VRBO with pictures and while they assured me they would have someone come out and look at the property, no one ever came and no one ever gave me further help.

4 flights of stairs, very hot stairwell/hallways. It says it sleeps 6 but the pullout sofa is so thin the bar hits your back so we couldnā€™t use it. Not enough places to sit with very little living room furniture.

Not great but not terrible

The location was just okay, but thatā€™s my fault for booking not oceanfront. The condo was a bit dated and dingy. My girls wouldnā€™t even shower in the guest bathroom. The hallway up to the condo was so hot and smelled terrible. I wouldnā€™t recommend this condo.

We showed up before 4 so when it turned 4 we were locked out. Then the whole refrigerator and freezer stunk of fish. Off to get some baking soda to help absorb the fish smell. Then master toilet was clogged plungers were broke. Off to the store again to get a plunger. 2 days later the handle on the toilet broke. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Well equipped condo that suited our needs

Upon arrival, it was a little tricky to find the correct building/parking spot. I found the building was most easily accessed via the driveway just after the last beach club entrance (after the brown privacy fence). On first appearance, the condo seemed pretty good. It was fairly clean and it was as described online. Check-in was very easy. I had read the description online that it was located on the second floor and did not have an elevator, but being new to Gulf Shores I did not realize that all the buildings are on stilts so it is 4 flights to get upstairs not just 2. We found that to be okay but it is a little much for loading and unloading your luggage and if you are like us and bring your dog it is kind of tiring doing it multiple times a day to take your pup in and out. The condo was well equipped and had tons of the comforts of home. I will note that on our arrival there was a fishy smell in the kitchen which I am assuming was from a previous renter. By day two of our stay, it was getting really bad. I ended up finding about an inch of dirty water in the crisper drawer in the fridge which may have been the culprit. After cleaning the drawer my husband and I went out and bought Arm and Hammer to hopefully remove the smell, so maybe that issue is now solved. We had issues with the Wi-Fi during our stay as well. It would work decently in the morning but at night it was terrible. I'm not sure what caused this issue but it was frustrating and we ended up trying to use a hot spot on our phones instead. The location was nice as out one door you have the lagoon and out the other direction a short walk to the beach. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Gulf Shores, and the accommodations suited our needs well.
