Hi, Brian. Thanks for the great review. I also appreciate you making me aware that the management are only letting 5 cars stay in the unloading area at a time. Ski season is extremely busy at Sugartop, and I guess this is the only way they can manage the flow. I hate that you were inconvenienced. When possible, I don’t mind working with guests to offer an earlier check in time if I don’t have someone else checking out the same day. Keep that in mind for next time!

I’m so sorry you felt blindsided about the parking situation. Many times, renters are given permission to park on the top level, and you can certainly always load and unload your bags on the top level so it is not necessary to take your luggage on the shuttle. It just depends on the weekend whether or not you will need to park on a lower lot. As you say, it’s completely out of my control. I’m sorry you felt inconvenienced. I’m glad your stay was otherwise enjoyable.

I don’t understand this guest’s comments. She arrived and seemed very put out by the temporary power outage which only lasted for a few hours. I made several phone calls to the building manager and maintenance to get the latest information on the power outage. The porch furniture was moved temporarily because the balcony floor had received a new layer of coating. The building manager had the furniture brought back to my balcony later that evening, after the rain stopped. The guest stated she “didn’t have much confidence in our maintenance people”, which was completely unfounded. Otherwise, everything was in perfect working order. She told the woman at the front desk that there was no water, which was not true. I called the water company and checked. She was not entitled to a refund for a 5 day reservation under these circumstances. I’m sorry she decided she didn’t like the location or the building, but accurate information and many pictures were on the website. I have never had a guest show up and decide not to stay and demand a refund they were not entitled to. Obviously, I could not rent it to anyone else at that point. Cancellation policies, as clearly stated on the website, protect both owners and guests when abided by. Our unit is not particularly child friendly because of the decor, which is why our listing states it’s not appropriate for young children. Many people who have children do come to Sugartop and enjoy the pool, gym, and other amenities. I did offer this guest a partial refund for one night to compensate for any inconvenience she might suffer from the short power shortage, but she decided to leave instead. With regard to the condition of the building, a massive project to replace the building coating is ongoing. Therefore, the outside of the building looks patchy. This is in the process of being rectified and the building will soon look new.
