A true home away from home, this Kiawah Island cottage boasts an enclosed porch, a furnished, wraparound deck with charcoal BBQ grill, a community pool and quaint, owner-inspired interiors.

This one-of-a-kind Kiawah Island rental is decorated by the owners, a bestselling author and his wife, who is a beloved children's book reviewer. You'll feel as if you were transported back to 1950s when you walk into this cozy beach cottage and nestle into its comfy overstuffed chairs surrounded by bookshelves filled with beach reads. But cozy does not mean old fashioned. You'll find plenty of USB ports, two wireless chargers for those of us who forget our own and 1 gig wireless broadband throughout.

The kitchen has been updated and has everything you need plus there is an enclosed Florida room with a large Smart TV. There is new paint, new carpeting, new rugs, new reupholstering, new bathroom fixtures and mirrors, new kitchen pots and pans, new art, and carefully curated books.

The master bedroom offers a new king bed, en-suite bath, and flat panel television. Bedroom 2 is furnished with a queen bed and Bedroom 3 includes a bunk bed with a twin bed up top and full on the bottom to create a flexible sleeping space for either 2 or 3. These bedrooms share a full bathroom.

The front porch offers a pair of new Maine rockers to enjoy and there’s plenty of room to barbecue on the back deck. Best of all – and certainly fun – this original Kiawah beach cottage still has its outdoor shower so you can get a brisk start to a morning or clean off the sand after a day at the beach which is just a short walk down the quiet, twisting road that takes you through the beautiful oak trees and pine trees of Sparrow Pond.

The Sparrow Pond Cottages are island vacation rentals set in a serene setting near West Beach Village. Take a scenic stroll through the oaks and pines to Kiawah Island’s 10 miles of beautiful beaches, enjoy hours of family fun in the community pool and discover the best of Kiawah Island from this central location. West Beach Village is located nearest to Kiawah Island’s main gate and is situated around the Cougar Point Golf Course and Clubhouse. West Beach is Kiawah’s oldest neighborhood with meandering boardwalks, mature maritime forests and a charming, Lowcountry island vibe.

You’re an easy walk to the beach, a bike ride away from Freshfields Village, The Sanctuary Hotel, Night Heron Park and Kiawah Island’s world-class golf courses and tennis, and a short 40-minute drive to historic downtown Charleston.

Pool Access: Guests have access to the Duneside/Sparrow Pond Community Pool only (Apr-Oct). Please note this property has NO resort pool access.

Beach Access: Beach access is via Boardwalks 1 and 2.

Please Note: The use of the fireplace is prohibited.

Pet Policy: This property does not allow pets.

Parking: There is parking for up to 3 cars.

Check-in instructions will be sent via email at least 10 days prior to check-in once the Rental Agreement is signed. If your stay is within 9 days, or lesser, from the time of booking, the instructions will be sent via email as soon as the Rental Agreement is signed.
