Enjoyed our stay!

The cottage is as advertised and offers a nice location with privacy. We enjoyed the true beach cottage feel and found the beds and kitchen met our needs. We rode our bikes to the beach access or pool each day which only took a a couple of minutes. Communication with the owner was excellent through the entire process.

Great week at West Beach

Excellent property. We have been visiting Kiawah regularly since the early 90’s. This cottage is among the nicest properties we have rented n Sparrow Pond Would book this property next time.

Kiawah Island Stay

We stayed at this property for the Kiawah Island marathon weekend and a few days after. It was a great location very close to the start/finish line at the West Beach conference center. Easy beach access. Location was clean and accommodating. The only points of feedback would be that the guest bath sink was slow to drain, and the tv was not super easy to operate, but overall we had a terrific stay. I will stay at this property again and recommend to others!

Great Vacation

The house and furnishings was comfortable. The pathway to the beach was pretty much shaded which made it comfortable to walk. The beach was fantastic for me because the sand was firm and easy to walk on. We would stay here again. Loved it.

Excellent get-a-way

We had a wonderful time! The cottage is roomy with a huge kitchen there’s plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed our bike rental and explored the island every day.

Wonderful summer vacation!

Loved our stay here! The Sparrow Pond setting is lovely/ peaceful & very close to beach access. The cottage was updated & very cozy. Susie was easy to contact & helpful if needed. I highly recommend this property!

Perfect getaway in crazy times

Great location on quiet end of island, easy 2 mile bike ride to the Sanctuary, excellent communication with property manager, stocked with everything you could need. Wifi worked great for our virtual schooling needs. We had a great stay and look forward to our next visit!

Kiawah Golf

The property was just as advertised. Well equipped, very clean. Convenient location for our golf vacation. Only criticism is that the beds were a little hard. Would stay there again. Would recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time on kyawah, this property is very convenient, close to the ocean. Everyone in our group loved this cottage and it was well furnished with everything you need. It was well laid out with multiable sitting areas. Bedrooms are spaced and private.

Very Comfortable, Very Clean, Great Location!

We had 6 adults and 1 baby at the cottage last week and we just loved it. It was a great location to get to the pool, beach & shops quickly. We enjoyed biking and looking at the lush foliage everywhere. The beds were very comfortable and sheets/towels very nice quality. The updated & generous-sized kitchen had everything we needed. I would not hesitate to stay here again!!!

Lovely Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage on Kiawah Island. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Loved the glassed in porch. We enjoyed biking around the island. The beach and pool were a short walk away. Susie, the property manager, was very helpful and the check in process was super easy. It was a great vacation!

Enjoyed the property. Exterior lighting was lacking on the steps leading to front door. All solar lights were not working. Had to use flashlights at nighttime.

Perfect for Us

Our family had a wonderful time at this property. Susie was awesome to work with and very timely responding to any questions we had. We also loved the location, community pool, and short bike ride to the beach. Also, you can walk to Cougar Point to play golf! Awesome.

Wonderful

The Sparrow Pond Cottages on Kiawah Island are just lovely. Clean, plenty of room, great wi-fi access, great management. Close walk to the beach, quiet, in a wooded park-like setting. We had everything we needed with easy access to so many wonderful places to visit. The area is full of history and gardens - with a lot more diversity than we learned in school! Many places drove us to dive deeper into learning more. Great place to stay.

Fantastic Kiawah Condo!!!

We loved our stay in Kiawah at this condo! It was close to everything, very well equipped (it even had a cast iron skillet!!) and perfectly laid out. There was plenty of room for my two teenagers and I loved the sunroom! Such a perfect house and the location can't be beat. Susie thoughtfully had dish and hand soap waiting for us and everything else is just a quick drive over to Fresh fields. Her attention to detail is not to be beat! We are all looking forward to spending time at this condo again soon.

Great House, Great Location, Great Price!

we enjoyed our stay at 1028 Scaup court Easter weekend and the week following. great location right near the front gate and the beautiful west beach. Clean. Newer kitchen and bathrooms. We appreciate the flexibility on our arrival dates. Not having or allowing a gas grill was quite inconvenient and would likely cause us to seek a different house on our next visit. would strongly encourage the owner to change his mind on that.

Beautiful and fabulous location.

We were there the week of hurricane Matthew so we left early. But we had several fabulous days. We had alligator bikes drop off bikes before we got there. Then we rode in morning. Beach. Rode to lunch. Beach. Then dinner. And then bike ride. The location is fabulous. The inside is clean and nice. The smell is nice. I'll be back.

Comfortable Home in Paradise

Our family just ended 10 days in paradise. Kiawah Island is more beautiful than I imagined. The pool and beach are truly just a 5-10 minute walk away. (I counted about 600 steps from the house to the water's edge.) There are numerous cycling and walking paths in the neighborhood, and around the rest of the island. But the best treat for us was riding for miles up and down the beach, with the wind in our faces, and waves crashing next to us. The comfortable and accommodating Sparrow Pond home coupled with Susie Oringel's exceptional property management made our family vacation absolutely perfect. The home is true to the pictures on VRBO. It has a very efficient use of space, along with large windows, skylights, and a tray ceiling in the family room to make the home feel larger. We were surprised that our family of 6 adults fit so well. Several of us cooked together, and the spacious kitchen accommodated us all without bumping into each other. We used the sunroom table for puzzles, reading, card games, and morning coffee; and ate at the counter and dining area table. There's plenty of comfortable seating area to watch tv. The home is well-equipped with large, functional appliances, and adequate cooking equipment. The only thing we found missing is a cutting board, so we bought an inexpensive set at the Tanger Outlet. (Our way of "paying it forward" for the future guests.). The super-sized washer and dryer are in a separate laundry, convenient and relatively quiet. The shared bathroom is the only room overdue for renovation. Age and humidity have taken its toll, but my adult-aged children didn't seem to mind. They did a great job renovating the master bath. So the other bath may be on the "to-do" list. Susie graciously provides information with grocery options. With the exception of seafood, my family was completely satisfied by what Harris Teeter had to offer. As a suggestion, get the HT Smartphone app, and VIC (loyalty) card, and the groceries will be quite reasonable. They had some exceptional surprises, too, like grilled chicken breasts, and inexpensive bagels/muffins/pastries produced by a local bakery. We will definitely return to Sparrow Pond. We've vacationed in Rehoboth Beach, Hilton Head, Aruba, and Myrtle Beach, to name a few beaches. But Kiawah beats them all.

In 2007, a friend on nearby Seabrook Island asked me if I would help her rent her villa also. Since I loved helping people plan their vacations in the area, I obtained my South Carolina Property Manager's License and began a business - Kiawah By Owner.
