Port Bonaire Reef A601 is located in the Laguna Marina neighborhood, an artificial lagoon situated between Kralendijk and the airport, connected to the Caribbean Sea via channels. Surrounding the lagoon are villas, boutique resorts and hotels – including Ocean Breeze, Plaza Beach Resort and Water Villas Bonaire – many with private moorings. The water here is sheltered and calm, making it ideal for kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and relaxed waterfront living, while a direct boating connection to the open sea and the dive sites along the west coast is always within reach.

Bonaire and especially the hotspots like Washington Slagbaai National Park, the remote pristine beaches, and the kitesurf and windsurf locations, are best enjoyed with a rental car, as our lovely Caribbean island has so much more to offer beyond the immediate surroundings of Port Bonaire Reef A601. With your own car you can explore remote snorkel spots, dive sites and local restaurants at your own pace. We strongly recommend renting a car so you can get everywhere easily. Most roads on Bonaire are paved, but for nature areas like the park, a pickup truck or SUV is advisable. The park roads are unpaved and sometimes rough, making a regular car less suitable. There is no public transport on Bonaire and taxis are limited, especially on busy days when a cruise ship is in port.
