We have installed and upgraded our KItchen. Everything is brand new!

Ideally located at the protected inside of the waterway leading to Plaza Marina Resort, this condo combines a smart layout with a beautiful view over the bay of Kralendijk. Features include a shared pool, spacious sundeck and direct access to the sea and world class dive and snorkeling sites. Lay out: luxurious living/dining room, well equipped kitchen (with granite counter top), covered terrace with breathtaking views, master bedroom with private bathroom and second bedroom with two twin beds; bathroom & separate toilet. Outside attainable storage closet. The unit comes complete with stylish & high quality furnishings.

This property is surrounded by world class diving and snorkeling, and DiveFriends Bonaire is located on the property for your convenience.

* Snorkel and dive directly in front of the condo. There is an easy ladder entry for you to use just steps away from your door, and it is a very short swim to 18th Palm or Windsock dive sites. Some of the most spectacular snorkeling and diving on the island is right in front of you. Dockside rinse tank, freshwater shower, and hanging hooks.
* Walk to Ti Amo beach judtva few steps south of your condo through a secure access gate.
* Dive shop on site. Dive Friends runs a full operation on site and that includes rinse area and lockers.
* Close to the action. You are less than a 10 minute drive to the coveted south shore dive sites or windsurfing at Lac Bay, and 5 minutes to the center of Kralendijk.
* Easy access to the airport, rental cars, grocery, and a short walk to Plaza Resort, just next door, where you will find boat rental, water sports, tennis and restaurants..

Bonaire Stay

Port Bonaire is a beautiful resort. Absolutely stunning interior and exterior. Our host Melinda was extremely responsive. Only positive feedback!

Nice place

Clean, well stocked kitchen, private. Good location if you like to cook your own meals, which we do. Groceries are a short drive away. Dive Friends right next door is very handy. There is, however, no place to hang your scuba gear.

Bonaire Rental Stay - Repeat Guest

This was our 2nd timing staying at Melinda's condo. It was a great vacation, and we plan on returning and renting again from Melinda. Melinda is wonderful host; she is always available if or when a question comes up. The condo is always exceptionally clean and maintained! Thank you again, Melinda, for being an exceptional property owner and host!

Melinda is absolutely fantastic host to deal with from the moment we booked the condo. The condo is spacious and quiet. The balcony have an absolute view of the ocean . We enjoy watching the small boat passing by the channel, as well as watching the big cruise ship sails out at night. The kitchen is well equipped and functional for our use. We have a little problem with the air condition and Melinda addressed and call a technician to fixed it way the way. There is ladder that you can go to the ocean and we swam over to the beach everyday. On the way there are lots of sea life and schools of fishes. We even saw a small school of squids. The only comment I will say is we do not know how to set up the TV. It would be nice if we have a couple of channels to watch. The condo is next to the airport,but you hardly hear the planes due to so few flights comes to the island.It. It makes it most convenient to access the condo. I would command to stay in Melinda condo.

Comfortable, clean apartment with great sea view

This first floor apartment in Port Bonaire is in a perfect location and well maintained. Everything was as described in the ad and more. The second bedroom has 2 new beds and the master bedroom had its own balcony overlooking the ocean. The owner was easy to communicate with and was very responsive. Plenty of towels and beach towels were available. The location, with direct access via a comfortable stepladder. From there it was a short swim to the Te Amo beach, which has wonderful coral close to the shore. There is a more solid reef further out but you need to be a diver to see it properly. We really enjoyed this apartment and hope to go back!

Paradise Found

You’d be hard pressed to find a more beautiful view than sitting out on the deck of this second floor paradise! Melinda’s condo..which is in a gated community.. is a fabulous place to spend the time relaxing, reading, or just gazing. The condo has a brand new updated kitchen, great A/C and top notch accessibility to snorkeling right off the property. There is a lovely quiet pool area for the condo property guests. The entire property is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The condo is right next door to a dive shop/school, a 5 minute drive to supermarkets, liquor stores and very close to many restaurants. The property is directly across from the airport (though there are so few flights, you don’t really notice the airport). The area is a great place to explore..both in water and on land. Melinda is extremely responsive before and during your stay, as is her maintenance staff. The hardest part about staying here is leaving!

Just facts

Our initial extra charge by owner was for $497: $275 for “extra cleaning”, “proved” by three pictures of few crumbs in the kitchen and a couple of spots in a shower because of a slow drainage (there is nothing in a check-out list about exit cleaning); $222 for a property damage. This charge disappeared after we requested an itemized bill, but the owner blamed us for an extortion when we promised to post an honest detailed review instead of our initial polite thanks that we said before the charge.

Worst vacation rental experience ever!

Kitchen sink leaked (and the owner was aware); several appliances did not work properly (including cable TV) or at all. Refrigerator had open containers of leftover food from prior guests. Not very clean. Owner took over a week to return my damage deposit, and I had to ask for it twice. Will never use VRBO again!

Melinda's condo was perfect! Updated kitchen was fully equipped. The cross breeze was amazing and the bedroom a/c worked well for sleeping. The complex is lovely and very close to beaches and great snorkeling. Grocery store and restaurants were only a few minutes away by car. Host provided wonderful tips on where to snorkel. We will be back!

Comfortable Condo in Great Location

Loved everything!

Belated review - sorry! We stayed at Melinda's condo in October 2021 and it was perfect! Clean and comfortable and the full-time residents were charming and so nice! We loved the location, the wonderful community pool for evening dips and condo close to many great snorkeling and dive locations, airport, and town. We plan to return this year and hope to stay here again. Thank you Melinda!

Tropical Paradise

This was a great choice for a vacation rental. The suite was spacious and included everything we needed, aside from a washer and dryer. We were told that all of the suites in the building we’re without laundry facilities and it wasn’t a big deal. We hand washed our clothes and dried them on the patio. The location was great, right across the airport and a quick drive to town. There were diving resorts and shops close by and one right next door. Swimming pool was great and the beach was within walking distance. Overall convenient for us. Favourite part of the home away from home was sitting on the patio every morning having breakfast while over looking the beautiful bay. The owner was also great and responded quickly to any questions. We would stay here again and highly recommend it.

A little bit of Paradise

What an amazing stay in Melinda's condo. Everything you need for a perfect vacation is within a short car ride or just use the ladder and go for a snorkel or dive with two reefs a short swim away . Melinda was always available and very helpful. This beautiful unit is not only a spacious 2 bedroom but has an awesome view. Be sure to catch the sunset while enjoying a drink with your spouse.

The Best Stay In Bonaire

Port Bonaire was ideal for us. We were well pleased with the location 2nd floor condo. We enjoyed the boats coming and going out front in the channel and the snorkeling around the point of the harbor was good.

Great location

We have stayed at Port Bonaire before, but like this unit the best. Love having the bedroom doors open to the ocean at night. Great location right next to dive shop and dive sites. Very safe and secure.

Melind’s even better than advertised!

Melinda’s condo was perfect for 2 divers from KS! Access across the street from the airport is great, Dive Friends right next door is great. When we had a problem w/ cable (yard trimmer accidentally cut cable) Marco made a special trip to get things to repair it,

nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans l'appartement de Melinda. Il est grand,propre,bien ventilé et la vue depuis la terrasse est magnifique. on peut faire du snorkeling directement depuis le bas de l'immeuble avec un accés facile par échelle. la résidence est sécurisée et trés calme et possède une piscine. Melinda est une personne charmante et trés facile à joindre .Si besoin ,Mark ,trés sympathique,est sur place pour régler d'éventuels problèmes, bref nous y reviendrons sans doute

Beautiful views and excellent location

The owner has good taste in quality furnishings and original artwork. She thoutfully provides a complete information packet. The condo is near the Plaza resort which has a fully loaded buffet at 12:30 and great snorkeling at twenty-nine palms. Park in the public lot down street around corner. or go south to Windsock. Delicious food truck serves Windsock Beach which has nice snorkeling south of the pier.

Another good year

Updates to the unit were made since our last visit (this is our 3rd to this unit) like new ac unit(s?). Kitchen is well stocked with the pots, pans, storage containers etc. check cabinets before you go to supermarket. We enjoyed the roominess of the place and ac in the living/ kitchen in addition to the bedroom. We cooked most nights and used the oven for the first time (oven cooks fast!- be sure to follow instructions). Dishwasher makes cooking at home during vacation more enjoyable. Kite city food truck at the beach next door is a good alternate to going out into town or cooking. Port Bonaire complex is a small number of units quiet and friendly with some not being rentals. Be sure to ask to get the port Bonaire discount at dive friends for scuba divers. One location is next door! (Boat leaves from this location or get your tanks) We plan on coming back next year

Loved It!!! Just What We Expected and More!!!

We had such a wonderful time spending 9 nights in this condo, our only complaint was that it wasn't long enough. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The condo was very well cleaned and well stocked, there was nothing we needed or wanted that wasn't there. We made a quick trip to the grocery store and only ate out twice while there. That saved us a lot of money for sure since one night we had a burger and fries and El Mundo with two frozen blended drinks each for two people and our bill was $75. We would definitely like to stay at Melinda's condo again. The convenience to the airport was nice as well. The view of the ocean was amazing! The sunsets were fabulous! I took pictures of the sunset every night. The snorkeling right off the back deck behind the pool was excellent in both directions. We swam towards Plaza Resort one time, the others we swam towards the left and Donkey Beach. We saw schools of barracuda, a spotted eagle ray that was magnificent, a lone barracuda that was at least 5 feet long and fat, many turtles, several eels, and a ton of different types of fish including several scorpion fish, puffer fish, etc. We thought the best snorkeling on the island was right off the back deck. We tried other places like 1000 Steps and Oilslick but it was windy every day and the water was much rougher than it was right by the condo. I saw the review that someone left right before this one and I gotta say, I'm quite surprised. I'm not sure what they were expecting. Melinda's place isn't "brand new", very few places on Bonaire are, but in our opinion it is well maintained, and very comfortable. I can't speak to whether the TV worked or not, we never turned it on. We were going all day long and at night we ate dinner, watched the sunset, showered and went to bed. We were in bed one night at 8 PM which I can say is a first for us. There was so much natural beauty in Bonaire and things to do, we can watch TV at home. We didn't want to miss a thing while there. We left things in the fridge that we didn't use up as well such as salad dressing. It is a personal choice, either help yourself to what's there, or don't. We appreciated that there was mayonnaise and mustard in the fridge, we didn't have to buy any as groceries are expensive on the island. When we were there we kept the doors open and the breeze kept the condo very cool. At night, we closed up and used the A/C in the bedroom and we were extremely comfortable. Happy Travels!!!

Location, quiet, well kept

This was our 1st time to Bonaire and staying in Port Bonaire unit and all was glorious. Unit was wonderful. Owner Melinda was wonderful, giving lots of in depth info. Nice to rent from private owner. Port Bonaire location is great. It has around 22 units. I believe around 9 had someone in them when we were there, so lots of privacy. Port Bonaire grounds and buildings are so clean, the snorkeling to the left and right of the unit was the best we found with easy access into water. This is such a comfortable, quiet location and very secure. Loved the parking was enclosed in the grounds. Even though across from Airport, planes coming or going once a day did not disturb at all. Location was great as we dropped car off night before, and next day walked over to airport 1/2 hr before flight out. That was a treat, not to mention coming in, can go to unit and drop everything off, take a swim, then cross the street to rent vehicle. Yes, stay at Port Bonaire. Your only decision is weather to book a 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor unit. 1st floor you can just walk out to pool, ocean and gardens by just opening your door. However, Hubby wanted a view and more privacy. His thinking, if you were sitting on your porch and it was on 1st floor, people are walking right by you, but on 2nd floor you are more private not only on your porch, but in bedroom. However, the place is not full of people so not a problem. Melinda's unit on the 2nd floor is very nice with 3 bathrooms. Master Bed comfortable and screens on windows and lots of space, ceiling fans, appliances all working, TV, DVD worked. The unit is very spacious. I liked that it felt homey. We don't like the modern, chrome feeling. This place you didn't feel afraid to live in it!! The view, grounds, location for snorkeling, the pool, the fact that Port Bonaire units are privately owned and not teeming with people, are all the reason we will stay here again if we come back to Bonaire.
