Great location!

Great location! Overall we had a great stay, however, the bed in the main bedroom had was sunken in and made it uncomfortable for two people sleeping in the bed. The couch in the living room was not completely flat, again making it uncomfortable. Other than that, the place was great.

Perfect family rental, just steps from the beach

This property was honestly amazing. We have two small children, and proximity to the beach is huge for us because we want flexibility/ease of going back and forth from the beach, as well as the option to hang around a pool. The house had everything youā€™d need for the beach/pool like beach chairs, wagon, shovels, boogie board, and pool floaties. The only thing that wasnā€™t there was a beach umbrella, but that didnā€™t bother us. The house was very clean, with the exception of the shower curtains (extremely molded, luckily my kids use a bathtub so we pushed their shower curtain out of the way). And all the drains seemed a little clogged. The worst part about the house was the beds, the master bed was extremely uncomfortable (hard as a rock), and the others were only slightly better. Another note, because this property is run by a management company, they give you very little supplies (toilet paper, dish soap, etc.) for your stay.

This is a lovely home in a great location. A short walk across the street to the beautiful beach, minutes to either end of the island, and in a quiet neighborhood. I gave it a 4 star rating for the following reasons. The agency that oversees this rental has a policy of not providing toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags or cleaning products beyond the first day. After that you are responsible for getting your own. As a VRBO owner and operator of my own rental, I find this unacceptable. Even the worst motels provide their guests with toilet paper. In my view, these things are basic necessities that out of consideration to your guests, should be provided. If the guest is unhappy with the quality of the products then they can purchase something more to their liking, but the paper products and trash bags should be made available to paying guests.

Great place to stay for families

We love AMI. This house was an easy walk to the beach. Right across the street. Itā€™s an easier walk than a house we stayed oceanfront at bean point. Get up, go to beach, then pool, and back to beach for sunset. Get some wagons. They help to carry little ones and beach gear. Itā€™s close enough to the beach to walk back to house if needed. Nice to have private pool. Pool area had lots of shade. It got some direct sunlight around 2PM for a couple of hours. We rented two cribs and they fit fine in the two bedrooms. House is at a good location. Not too far from anything in car or golf cart. House is on a main street for the island but itā€™s not busy. Beach across the street didnā€™t get that crowed. Only complaint would be the master bed. Itā€™s time for an upgrade. Not too comfortable and my wife felt like it was about to collapse if you moved. Also, you could hear the people talking sometimes on the other side of the duplex inside the house. Wasnā€™t a big deal. We would stay at this house again.

Exceeded all expectations!

This property was beyond what we imagined. It is absolutely beautiful. I felt like I was in a home that HGTV had done. It is literally right across the street from the beach. The pool was wonderful! There is also an outside shower that is very convenient after a day at the beach. The water is absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend this house. We will definitely come back to this property. The only complaint I have was the mattress needs an update; it was very lumpy and uncomfortable.

Wonderful week!

Our family of 5 (14 yo, 12 yo, and 9yo) had a great stay in this house. It was so close to the beach, we could easily walk back and forth if needed. The pool was also amazing and our kids enjoyed it! We would definitely stay here again and would absolutely recommend it to others. The 1 and only complaint would be that the mattress in the king bedroom was like sleeping on plywood. Our advice would be to pack a featherbed or something to cushion it if you want to get a full night of sleep!! We canā€™t wait to return to AMI/Holmes Beach.

Such a great little gem!

We could not have been happier! The location was so perfect!! Right in the middle between Holmes Beach and Anna Maria. Easy to bike or walk to each! The beach was literally right across the street about a half block walk, so we could make a drink and walk over for sunset every night! I loved that there were benches on the beach too! Although it is NOT a dog friendly beach there was plenty of dog parks and she could come watch sunset. The pool and landscaping were so nice in the back. Perfect for morning dips and coffee. And for dipping after the beach. The beach chairs were a little worn out and one broken and a better umbrella would be nice but we brought one. There was adequate cooking utensils and plenty of plates and cups. Loved the thermal cups. The only annoying thing was the pool alarm on the sliders and windows. I get it as I have grand babies. So we used side gate to access the pool most of the time. Would totally go back!!!

Property nice great location

House has great location 1 block from beach on a main road but not noisy. Backyard pool area is fantastic great landscaping Weber grill and pool with water feature. House comfortable futrniture nice and good kitchen very functional. Lighting in kitchen snd family. Room a little dark need brighter bulbs. Rooms small but comfortable. We had a very nice week.

Cold water

Hot water heater was not functioning properly the first week and had to heat water on stove for the babies to take a warm bath. We reported it the first week, but took until the 2nd week to repair. They ended up replacing the tankless water heater. The heated pool was to cold to swim in, while everyone around us were using their pool. Maintenance finally regulated the water and we were able to use the pool the second week. I do expect a full security deposit and possibly some compensation for our troubles. Sincerely, Paula Reagan

Good but could have been better

Our stay was mostly very enjoyable. There were a few issues that we had with the property such as the shower liner had a few mold spots on it, the sliders to the pool area had an alarm on it (for children) and I wish there was a way we could have turned it off since it was just my husband and I and we don't have children. It made it quite annoying to go in and out of the pool area. Also, the slider to the pool area was quite heavy and it was hard to pull it open and push it shut, especially when you had that pesky alarm on the top that if you didn't shut it in time the alarm would start ringing. The master room was very lovely other than the VERY uncomfortable mattress and the french doors aren't properly sealed (you can see sunlight coming in towards the ground) so that was definitely the hottest room in the house no matter how cold we put the air at. The location of the property was AMAZING. You walked down the road and there was beach. The pool was extremely enjoyable to be around (this and the beach were the best part of our vacation). There was a mosquito issue around the pool, I am not sure if this was just because of the area or if people in surrounding houses have standing water but I didn't get bite up by mosquito's out there. The pool area also smelled like dog pee at times, it wasn't constant but you would get a whiff of it every now and then. The kitchen and living room were really nice and comfortable. The only complaint with the kitchen was that the ice machine was completely frozen into one block of ice which made it unusable. This wasn't a huge deal as we just went and bought a bag of ice, but I thought it would be worth noting. Again, we really enjoyed our vacation, but we felt if it wasn't for these few pain points it could have been better. I don't regret renting this place for the week, but I don't know if we would stay in this exact location again.

Very Close to Beach, plus Great Management!

We asked for a same day weekly rental and they were able to fit us in, along with an early check-in. The property was just as gorgeous as the photos. The barbecue was in pristine shape - we used it almost every day, and there's a great story about that. The first night, we found it was out of gas so we left a voicemail that night. The next morning, not only was there a new installed tank when we woke up, but they also replaced the wire brush with a new one. Talk about service! The pool was a great bonus, and we used that almost every day, also. The Gulf-side beach was less than a 4 minute walk away. The great property, great location, great amenities, and fantastic property management made for one of the best vacations we ever had. Thank you, Tea and Anna Maria Island Accommodations!

NICE but could have been cleaner/fresher

I loved the location for sure. I found the furniture and the bedding to be very dingy. Especially the bed skirts. There was only a filthy mop to clean floors with so I asked, and they brought a sponge mop. I could not get the floors clean and we mopped 3xs a day. I had to wash my feet every night before I got into bed. The light fixture in kitchen was very dusty. The ice maker had issues and water dispenser never worked. I did complain about that. Otherwise we loved our stay. For the price, I would not stay at that property again

GREAT NEARBY BEACH AND PRIVATE POOL

Great stay at Mermaid's Hideaway. Only 1/2 block to beach and beautiful pool in private fenced backyard. House was clean, neat and very nice. Liked the big screen TV in living room and DVR feature. Plenty of towels provided for pool and daily use. Only complaint was turntable in kitchen microwave did not work, resulting in uneven heating. Would definitely recommend this house to others. Quick response from property manager when I called about need for pool to be cleaned.

This house is absolutely gorgeous and in the perfect location with a pool. You couldn't ask for anything more perfect then this place. The home provided dishes, silverware, linens, and beach towels. There was also beach equipment such as beach chairs, boogie boards, floaties and shovels to use at the beach. The beach is right across the road so it is about a 2 minute walk straight from the house. We love this property and will continue to rent it!

Loved it, wish we could have stayed longer

First night we stayed the smoke detector batteries went dead, we couldn't sleep. Had to listen to it beep till late morning the next day before it got fixed. Every thing else was excellent. Plenty towels and beach extras to take to beach. Including a wagon to carry it!!!

Love the Pool

We had an awesome stay with 6 of us at the Mermaids Hideaway. Loved having the pool in back, everything was clean and nice. Close to the beach.

Enjoyable vacation

This was a great rental and had everything we needed! Nice cozy villa, beautiful pool & short walk to the beach. We were very surprised to find beach chairs, a wagon & toys included at Mermaidā€™s Hideaway.
