Glad to hear the guest enjoyed this unit and location. Actually, the free Keystone SHUTTLE stops 40 YARDS from the east end of the building (just go out the east door from the lobby). Last stop before the Gondola drop off in River Run Village so it only takes a minute (400 yard shuttle ride to the drop off with no stops).

The guest does have a very valid complaint about the elevator disruption. Here's an outline of what we told him in writing: 1) Only a licensed technician can repair an elevator, so only the BUILDING MANAGER can handle the problem; 2) we contacted the manager who said he’s furiously working on getting an engineer up from Denver; and 3) here’s the manager's contact info so that you can discuss the problem with the person DIRECTLY involved with solving it. That access MINIMIZES misinformation when tempers are flaring. In all fairness, our response is mischaracterized in this review as an attempt to pass the buck when we were actually offering the ONLY RECOURSE available: a way of communicating at first hand with the one person who could solve the problem. In truth, NO reply by us would have defused this situation. When there's no way to review the actual problem (the elevator), it’s natural for an aggrieved guest to take out his frustration with retaliatory comments about the property. That often results in a jaundiced review. Specifically, this condo has been reviewed 77 TIMES by previous guests (2 separate listings): VRBO.COM/263935: 50 Excellent; 6 Good; 1 OK VRBO.COM/1237686: 19 Excellent; 1 Good No rental property is without flaws. But a reasonable person can conclude 76 Excellent/Good out of 77 reviews is a far more reliable consensus assessment of the property than 1 angry "Terrible" review triggered by a building malfunction completely beyond the Host's control.

We're glad the condo worked so well for this large group. In terms of checking into the unit remotely, that is easy to arrange since the condo has keyless entry. We do not give out the pass code in advance, since we need to respect the privacy of departing guests and the property has to be cleaned and inspected prior to the arrival of new guests. So we usually have guests stop at our office (right on the main road into Keystone) around 4PM to pick up an arrival packet which includes, among other things, the push button code. But if guests are ALREADY in Keystone skiing that day, they can just phone us for the code at the check-in time, which saves a trip back to our office.
