SAND, SUN, OCEAN and FUN at the BEACH.

Welcome to 'Hale Lokahi', where the only thing between the lanai and the ocean is the long sandy beach that seems to go for miles. The covered oceanfront lanai runs the full width of the house, so you have a front row seat from which to view sizzling sunsets over the ocean towards the island of Niihau. There are very few actual beachfront houses on the Westside, as most have a road between the house and the ocean. BUT NOT HERE!

You can walk to anything and everything from this location. The Waimea River is just short walk away offering fishing and kayaking opportunities. In less than 5 minutes, you can walk to either of the large grocery stores in Waimea, several restaurants and shops, or take in a movie at the Historic Waimea Theater. Walk in the footsteps of Captain Cook, where he came ashore in 1778 as the first Westerner to come to Hawaii. This is old Hawaii and far from the tourist crowds. Quiet and peaceful with the dry sunny climate that guarantees you the best weather for your vacation.

This lovely ā€œbeach cottageā€ belongs to one of the older families of Kauai. Until recently, it was used exclusively by their large family as a place to get together and enjoy the beach. Newly renovated, they have opened up their home to share with a few lucky vacationers. This may be just the place you have been looking for.

This one story cottage sits on a large oceanfront lot and offers 3 bedrooms, two of which are Oceanside, and all 3 have a/c. There are three full baths, so no one has to wait to get ready to enjoy the day. Life here is meant to be lazy and enjoyed. Take a long walk on the beach, sit in the shade of the covered lanai, or just enjoy a good book waiting for one of those fabulous Westside sunsets. Because we face westward, this is the only part of the island that has a sunset view over the ocean, and what a view this is. This house is spacious enough for 3 couples, a large family, or a couple celebrating their wedding with a wonderful honeymoon. There is a large kitchen, fully equipped to make a gourmet meal at home served at your own private ocean-side table. All the furniture and bedding is new along with an updated kitchen and baths. Itā€™s not likely that you will have a rainy day here on the Westside, but if you want to catch one of those morning football games or watch a movie, you have a new 40'' flat screen LCD television complete with 'High Definition' Cable service! We also have a blu-Ray/DVD player, stereo system with CD and ipod dock, and of course, wireless Internet so you can stay stay connected.

The bedroom a/c did the job. Nice layout for big family. We loved the ocean views. The only thing to disrupt the serenity was the roosters (now we love them). Quiet neighborhood. Close to Waimea canyon. Lots of food choices within walking distance.

Spent 7 days at this vacation home rental and for me and my family it was relaxing!! Chad the rental manager was quick and responsive to any questions about the property. The home is located away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts which we really enjoyed. The house was comfortable and to be able to sit on the lania in the mornings and evenings watching and listing to the ocean waves rolling in was very peaceful. The town of Waimea was the perfect size and had plenty of places to eat and enjoy.

Very comfortable and clean! Loved the beach access, the area was great, weather was good and the house had everything we needed. Air conditioning in the bedrooms was perfect. Loved having beach chairs to take exploring with us! Would definitely come back!

House has pros and cons.Pros: 1) Spacious for large family, we had 5 adults2) Outside lanai (patio) was nice if there was any breeze 3) Bedrooms had Window mount AC (little noisy)Cons:1) Living room and kitchen area very hot (even with all windows open)2) only 1 ceiling fan operated on high speed, the other 3 ceiling fans operated on low or med speed (living room & kitchen area)3) could update the TV to a larger size.Overall I think if there was a AC unit in the living room/kitchen area (giving you the option to use when there is no breeze) this house is a perfect hidden gem.

Something Special

This was pretty much everything I was dreaming about for our Hawaii vacation: walking along an empty beach with the kids, dinner with an ocean view every evening, and staring at the stars through palm trees while the waves crashed in the background every night. This home was perfect for us. Plenty of space for everyone with three bedrooms and bathrooms and we all slept well despite the warm days thanks to the AC. Kitchen checked all my boxes; sharp knives, no eggs sticking to the nonstick, and everything a vacation cook could want was there. Having chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler for the beach was very convenient. I also liked having my own garage for the rental. Now, it's probably not for everyone; if you leave food out ants will find it and there are people who aren't on vacation as your neighbors. If you chose Kauai because you wanted more adventure than luxuriousness, you'll be thrilled with this place. If you do need a bit of poshness, Poipu is just 30 min away. It was especially nice being closer to Port Allen for boat tours and Wiamea canyon early. Communication with the host was great, had more than everything we needed, and the few drawbacks were more than outweighed by the amazing location. Honestly, if this is your price range, I don't think there's much that could beat it. Overall highly recommend. Mahalo!

A view you won't want to leave

We celebrated my dad's 75th birthday with sunsets every night on the lanai, easy access to Waimea canyon and the Napali coast and the small-town vibe of Waimea. The place couldn't have been more perfect for us who enjoy beach walking and living like locals. Bedrooms with screen doors leading outside lulled us to sleep to the sound of the ocean and waking up to the roosters. Yet we had all the appliances and amenities of home. Loved the stay!

Waimea Beach House Rental

Our group of 2 couples had an awesome two week vacation staying at the beachfront house in Waimea. The location was perfect for us as we used the property as a home base. We traveled Kauai on a daily bases & we were always happy to return at the end of our outings enjoying the house and ocean front property. We spent most evenings on the lanai enjoying the view, having a few drinks playing cards & fell asleep every night to the sounds of the waves with the bedroom patio doors open. Chad was extremely helpful with his knowledge and suggestions which made our vacation even more special. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we have already booked for next February.

South/west Kauai in December

The house is conveniently located at the base of Waimea Canyon and within easy driving distance of several lovely beaches including the stunning dunes of Polihale. While the high surf up north makes ocean-swimming too dangerous in winter, there are several reef-protected beaches (e.g., Salt Pond) down south. It gets very quiet here after 6pm sunset. For crowds of tourists stay up near Princeville.

The house was clean, well-stocked with appliances and cooking supplies, and the beach view (especially for sunsets) are beautiful. Only thing to remember is the beach is walkable, but not swimable. Highly recommend the nearby Salt Pond Park for swimming!

Amazing view! Beautiful sunsets!

Our stay on the island was an amazing treat. My favorite place was the porch. Whether it be in the morning the afternoon or the evening, it was so beautiful and relaxing. The chickens came in the yard periodically and they were so fun to watch. The house was well appointed, the TV was great. The beds were comfortable and linens/towels were great too. My only original disappointment was the only air-conditioning were units in each bedroom. I was afraid it would be warm in the living room. By opening both the front door and the back door both which had screens there was a lovely breeze, and we were never too warm. Overall the home was everything we were hoping for.

As much as the house worked well for our little group, we spent most of our time on the Lanai listening to the ocean and watching beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The kitchen is perfect and all the rooms were as listed! We will go back and wished we had the time to explore Waimea more!

This property is true beach front with an open neighborhood access on one side which is lightly used and adds to the view along beach that appears remote (any structures are two or less stores and behind a vegetation buffer. Perfect family home

A beautiful home on the waterā€¦walking distance to Waimea pier and downtown. We loved our stay ā€” great communicators and ease at getting to home was wonderful. Ideal Beach House in Waimea

If you're looking or a great house on the beach in Kauai, look no further. In the garage, one will find beach umbrellas, chairs, and a cooler for your forays to local beaches and an extra fridge. Once inside, you'll find a clean, spacious house with a very well appointed kitchen, all bedrooms have air conditioning, all the towels you could possibly need. Out the back door is the ocean view lanai where we spent a lot of our time, watching beautiful sunsets every night from there. Salt Pond Beach is 10 minutes away for grat snorkeling and the road up Waimea Canyon even closer. We have found Chad to be a great property manager and his local representative, Keenan, very responsive to any issues we encountered. Alan, the groundskeeper is also very friendly and helpful. I don't think we could find a better place than this and we will be back as often as we can!

All that we hoped for.

The home is great, very well equipped with every essential. Close to stores and eateries. Beautiful views. Very relaxing. Ocean sound is wonderful but it is not a swimming beach. The waves crash right on shore and are very rough. The black sand beach is perfect for long walks and the historic pier is fun. Be aware you are in a working neighborhood which means early morning noise. All in all it was fabulous.

Beautiful House with Beautiful Views

This house is Awesome! 3 bedroom, 3 bath and perfect for our group of 6 with 3 adults, 2 teenagers and a child. Upon arrival, the house was very clean and furnished with tons of things to help our trip from dishes and towels, to shampoo and sunscreen. The sunset here can't be beat!!! Walking or driving to a few local eateries is simple. On this side of the island, you are close to Waimea Canyon and the most beautiful beach on the planet, Polihale!!! The only 2 things I feel are important to know. This beach is not swimmable. Wading in the water and playing on the beach is fine, but direct swimming was not safe during our trip in April. Also, Poipu, Kapaa and Princeville/Hanalei are a bit of a drive. Poipu about 25 minutes, Kapaa 45-50 and North Shore 1 and 1/2 hours. We knew this going in, because we have visited the island numerous times, but it could be a surprise to others. For us, being in the more local part of the island truly immerses you in the culture and true Aloha of Kauai. Would definitely rent again! Also, Chad is the best!!! Phenomenal communication.

Our 5-day stay

Honest feedback with Aloha: Pros: ā€”Communication with Chad was excellent, as were instructions. ā€”Location is great to walk for meals and shopping. Very short drive to Chicken in a Barrel/Da Pizzaā€” excellent food! ā€”House is very close to canyon state parks. Cons: ā€”House needs a thorough cleaningā€”unfortunately we had to do a fair amount of cleaning upon arrival to feel comfortable enough to stay for the 5 nights. When we requested new shower curtain liners and a sheet for the king bed, Chad responded quickly. ā€”Because the house is in a neighborhood with dogs, be aware theyā€™ll be barking early morning. ā€”Property description does need to specify that beach is not swimmable rather than having to discover that in guestsā€™ reviews. This property may be suitable for some travelers, but for us we would not stay there again.

Fiftieth wedding anniversary celebration with family.

It was a wonderful house at a perfect location. The house was spacious and the kitchen had every cooking utensil and appliance. Could walk to stores, restaurants, and bank. The host was very responsive.

Nice house and town.

Loved the house and Waimea town. Great access to Waimea canyon and had a fun meal at wranglers steakhouse. Also Da Booze Shop for quick decent plate lunch. Only drawback is beach not swimmable because of muddy water coming in from the river. Salt pond in Hanapepe or down to Kaheka beach to swim.

Highly recommend this property!

We would highly recommend this property. Let me get right to it. The ocean view and ocean sounds from the lanai were just amazing! The view is framed with mature palm trees and lush ground cover. The beach and the ocean view is essentially all yours. Hardly ever see anyone on the beach. We chose to stay at this property in lieu of staying at a crowded resort. This felt like our own private space and a very relaxed setting. The house was somewhat older but very clean, beautiful furniture, kitchen extremely well equipped with quality cookware, appliances, dishes, spices, dishwasher, condiments, sheet pans, cutting board, washer-dryer. When using the sink you can look out large window and look at the ocean. Canā€™t beat that. Each bedroom has its own window air conditioner. To be honest the running of the air conditioner along with very comfortable bed we both slept like a rock! 2 bedrooms have sliding glass doors to lanai. You will find out that you will be out on the lanai about 90% of the time you are at the house. 2 car garage. 1 block away is a very convenient and nice market/grocery store that had everything we desired. Gas grill on lanai for grilling. Tiki torches. 2 umbrellas and lawn chairs for sitting on beach to take in the sights and sounds of the ocean. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever been on in my life and the property and its location had a lot to do with that. Mahalo to the property manager - Chad and contact Keenan.
