*Kauai is open and welcoming visitors as our island continues to recover from Hurricane Lowell. Guests may see ongoing repairs, roadwork, and temporary closures around the island as our community continues to rebuild. Please come with Aloha, be patient, respect posted closures and give local crews and residents plenty of space. *

Kai Nalu, which means "Ocean Wave" in Hawaiian, is right on the beach in Waimea, between the river and the historic Waimea Pier. Located on the sunny West side of Kauai, this spacious home provides a perfect setting for your holiday in paradise.

Enjoy spectacular ocean views (enhanced by a fabulous view of Ni'ihau -- the Forbidden Island) and watch the sun set into the sea every evening from a nearly endless stretch of charcoal sand beach. We recommend going to a life guarded beach for swimming. Take a stroll down the beach at your leisure and if you happen to see green sparkles in the sand here, they are mineral crystals called olivine. Gem-quality olivine is known as peridot, the birthstone for August.

Two expansive lanais overlook views of Ni'ihau sunsets and are a great place from which to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or cool beverage along with the fabulous vista.

The living room is bright and comfortable with wonderful ocean views. The huge master bedroom suite has a sitting area and equally fabulous views. The master bath has marble floors, an oversized glass block shower and jacuzzi tub with an ocean view. The gourmet kitchen has a gas island cooktop, tile counters and all appliances. There is an outdoor shower for convenience.

Earth friendly home utilizes green technology to provide solar hot water and electricity.

We absolutely loved this house. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms, beautiful views of the ocean, well stocked kitchen, walkable to local restaurants and stores, and all the beach gear we needed. Hosts were kind and communicative.

We arrived to a clean and well put together property. The neighbors were sitting on their back patio and greeted us and told us about the area and gave us recommendations. Restaurants, a grocery store, coffee, and shaved ice all within walking distance. Enjoyed our stay

We had an incredible stay in Waimea. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked and we felt like we had a private beach, watching the sunset every night was a highlight and even though the water isn’t good for swimming our kids loved playing along the waters edges.The location is walking distance to a number of lunch and dinner spots great for takeout and it’s easy access to the Waimea Canyon. This area is not very touristy, more residential and quiet at night. Highly recommend for folks looking for an experience away from resorts and busy beaches.

Quiet location in a small town

Away from the tourist rush, but close enough to join any excursions you want to do. Lots of room on the lanai for group meals and games.

We loved staying at this home!

This home is so much better in real life. We loved having beachfront access, and being able to hear the waves. The beds are all very comfortable. We loved our stay and would book this house again.

Beautiful Home

The property was well kept, very clean, quiet, beautiful beach to walk on, had everything we needed. Waimea is a nice quiet town with everything you need, grocery store, restaurants, shopping.

Beautiful Waimea

This house was perfect for us. We had plenty of room and our host thought of everything to make the stay a pleasant one. Many items were provided for us and we had all the tools needed to cook, grill, enjoy the beach, and just hang out on the back yard. Stores in the town were an easy walk away. Loved our visit.

Quiet and relaxing.

Even better than the photos!

This VRBO was everything we hoped for and more! The location was unbeatable—right on the beach, with stunning ocean views and just a short walk to restaurants and shops. The place itself was even better than the photos. Super clean and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts clearly put a lot of thought into the details, making it feel like a true home away from home.If you're looking for the perfect mix of relaxation and convenience in Hawaii, this is the spot. Great location on chill part of the island

Outdoor dining area is great. The beach is not crowded at all. The house is spacious and offers a lot of privacy for each bedroom. The kitchen has all the utensils and pot/pans you need. But you will have to buy everything to cook with including oil, sugar, flour, and any baking stuff (baking soda etc).

The wonderful Kai Nalu House

This is a beautiful well kept property. 7 in our party and no complaints from anyone. Nice beach for walking, jogging, but you cannot swim there and even wading is difficult due to slope of the sand. Waema the town is only 3 blocks from the house with gasoline, 2 stores and various little shops and eateries. 1 bank and 1 credit union. Enjoyed our stay. Would stay again.
