Home was in great shape and is well taken care of. It's the last one on the road to the top of the mountain, so it is very serene and surrounded by the woods. Saw some deer, chipmunks, squirrels and even a couple bears on trash day! The house has everything you need. We could cook, have a hot cup of coffee or tea, watch a movie with ample blankets, or relax on the enclosed patio with a book.

Beautiful cabin in great location

We had a wonderful stay at the Cedar Cabin! The living area was large with plenty of seating options, and the beautiful kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Our kids enjoyed eating breakfast at the kitchen island while looking out at the mountain view. The location was great - easy to get in and out of downtown Asheville, and nice and secluded. I highly recommend booking!

The home was very clean and nice. It was just disappointing that there was no fire pit and the propane tank for the gas grill was so stuck shut making the grill inoperable. My son and I could not grill out.

Great location - few details could be better

The house is charming, clean, as described, and in a great location. Everything was stocked properly. Wooded setting is relaxing. Only reason for not 5 stars is the furniture is a bit uncomfortable. Bed is soft but has hump in the middle. Couches make you sink in awkwardly.

Amazing Mountain Cabin

Modern cabin in the woods

Beautiful cabin in the woods. Great location, close to everything. It was a bit difficult navigating the winding, steep roads, but we got use to it. Well appointed and meticulously maintained. Overall, a very good experience.

Fall vacation

Came to Asheville to celebrate husbandā€™s birthday and wanted to stay close to town but have the mountain experience. This home was the best of both worlds. Secluded yet so conveniently located to downtown Asheville to explore and enjoy the gourmet foods, shops etcā€¦ I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home, super updated and clean. Close to downtown and outdoor attractions. Driveway/road is tricky as you approach the cabin, four wheel drive suggested due to ruts in the roadway. Thank you for letting us use your lovely cabin!

Impeccably clean and convenient

This was the cleanest property we have stayed at in the several years we have been renting in the mountains. Very well stocked and comfortable. Convenient to everything Asheville has to offer. If you are looking for a long Mountain View this is not the best place for youā€¦ but if you are looking for that mountain feel in a top notch setting and concerned with CLEANā€¦ this is a great pick.

Johnny, Shanti Mountain Properties owner, graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in industrial technology and a concentration in sustainable technologies. In 2009, Johnny built his first short-term rental to give people a sanctuary to recharge and reset from the everyday grind, thus launching the company. During that time, he lived a minimalist lifestyle and traveled. From there, the company grew gradually to serve the greater Asheville community.

Today, youā€™ll find Johnny consulting with other homeowners on their lifestyle investment, helping to manage executive duties of the company by working ā€œonā€ the company and occasionally ā€œinā€ the company. He believes in living the lifestyle you want and having a meaningful career. That means you ā€œlive what you do.ā€

When Johnny isnā€™t overseeing Shanti Mountain Properties, he spends time with his wife and three girls ages 11, 9, and 3. Johnny is proficient in Sil Lum Kung Fu martial arts and loves playing the guitar and old-time Irish fiddle. In addition, heā€™s health-conscious and works out regularly.
