Great condo in a great location

We had a great time. The location is convenient for many different outings including Rum Point beach, Starfish Point, and various boat trips right from the dock at the resort. The host was very accommodating and the condo is very well stocked.

Great Stay Thanksgiving Week

We had a wonderful week. Great place for our family of 5, and we loved this side of the island. We were so happy we stayed here instead of on 7 mile beach. So much more peaceful. We loved the access to Kaibo Yacht Club, Starfish Point, great restaurants on the north side, pool and hot tub, etc. and could still take day trips to the other side. We’d definitely stay again.

Kaibo and the Mastic Trail.

Kaibo is certainly the quiet end of the island, and it is close to our two top attractions: the Mastic Trail, and the Botanic Gardens. The bar/restaurant next door is good and nice that we could walk there along the beach. The Turtle Centre is a long drive away.

Great family location!

We really enjoyed our stay! The unit was clean and well stocked with just about anything you could need for swimming, snorkeling or just relaxing. There's a good size lanai for your swim gear or to have a bite to eat. Right on the beach, but also feet away from a clean pool / hot tub Steps away from a restaurant so food was easily accessible, but keep in mind this is Rum Point so you'll want to plan out your trips to the other side of the island. Definitely would recommend - especially for a family!!

How can you complain when you are at Kaibo

First of all nothing to complain about…Such an amazing location on a dream island. Both owner and property manager were super communicative and explained all processes. It may be a little thing but having beer and soda in the fridge when we arrived after a long day of traveling, was a nice touch.Would definitely rent from them again!Thank you for making our family vacation amazing with your little slice of heaven.

Place is nicely stocked

Everything was very good. We arrived on a Monday and everything, and I mean everything, is closed. It was like being on a deserted island! Wednesday, a few people started to come because the only restaurant opened up (right next door). The property was perfect, but I’d HIGHLY recommend a location on Seven Mile Beach.

Andrew -- glad you liked our condo - -sorry you were disappointed with the quietness. we DEF are on the quiet side of island. that was one reason we bought there and the fact direct ton water and calm for kids and kaibo next door ! sadly, grand Cayman has been slow to return to normal activity. With the dismissal of mask requirement this month i think you will find it getting better. Rum poitb is supposed to reopen this fall and there are still local places -kaibo- over the edge- curts corner -italian kitchen.

Great Stay

This property was exactly as described on VRBO. The owners were great to work with when I needed a slight change to our reservation. We love the location and the ability to walk right out from the screen porch to the beach. The condo is stocked so well for arrival; I love the concept of replace what you use up! Even though you are a 45 minute drive from Georgetown, there's plenty to do in the area. Snorkeling, paddleboarding, boat trips, sting ray city, etc. Thanks, Anita! Great stay.

Wonderful stay. we are a family of 5 and stayed for 5 nights and loved our stay! Very relaxed environment. The condo was very well stocked with tons of extra food items (condiments . . . ) as well as snorkel gear. The bedding was comfortable. Would have been nice to have a kayak, though we could have rented one as well. There weren't hammocks in front of phase 1 and the hot tub wasn't working but there were hammocks and a beautiful hot tub at phase 2 which we did use (not sure if this was allowed but definitely didn't feel like we were doing anything wrong and was never crowded!) It is right next door to the kaibo yacht restaurant (amazing chocolate croissants at the cafe for breakfast!). Easy walk to starfish point, and could walk or drive to rum point (which we did do for sunset and enjoyed). We did a day trip to 7 mile beach which is definitely a nicer beach and way better for swimming in the ocean. But we loved having coffee on the beach in the morning and grilling dinner at night on the beach. If you are looking for a relaxing environment - this is a great choice! We also did the bioluminescent tour (amazing!) and sting ray city which are closer to this side of the island than 7 mile and booked with white sand for both which leaves right from the boat ramp in front of the condos which was super convenient!

Relaxing getaway

we loved our time at the condo, it is right on the beach , stocked with everything we needed and more! The location is secluded, you WILL need a car to get around. Anita provided a lot of helpful details and great recommendations. We stayed one week here, and one week at a rental in 7mile, and the difference between a rental that is used by the owners themselves vs a rental just bought to make money was astounding! We were missing this condo during our stay at 7mile ! The only annoying thing was a few days into our trip , another family checked in to the upstairs condo with multiple kids who love to stomp around and be loud, but that's just bad luck i guess.

Nice condo on beach

Condo was well stocked with more than just starters of TP/paper towels/soaps. Plenty of towels and dishes. Extra sunscreen/bug spray if you forget yours. Multiple snorkel fins and masks, although there weren't any fins that properly fit my 8 year old. Life jackets. Lots of sand toys. Pool and hot tub were clean and not too busy. Very quiet and relaxing.Location: If you are planning to be on the West side of the island a lot you may want to think twice about booking here - it is a long drive and traffic can get bad with only one major road. The public beach right next to Kaibo was fenced off for construction, but you can walk to Starfish Point and a short drive to Rum Point beach. Can get boat trips from Kaibo dock right next to condo.Did not like: scratched/chipped non-stick cookware, bedskirts/pillows needed washing, condo was very damp/musty when we arrived which may have been due to previous renters. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel/pristine condition place this is not it. The grout on the tile floors/showers is no longer white; things have dings/dents/chips.

When you talked to me sounded like you enjoyed our condo - however - your review does not indicate that. The condo is 20 years old so def not going to be brand nee condition. But we have upgraded and replaced slot if things over the years we do have renters in there frequently who may not care for things as we do. We also have an on island manager and Covid gets cleaned during each turnover. Thank you fir pointing out things cleaning crew may have missed

Quiet Side

Condo was easy to find and parking was plentiful. Starfish Point is a very quiet part of the island even next to the Kaibo Yacht Club (condo is about 50 yards down the beach). While you could hear the music (especially the bass!), we never felt it was intrusive. It also led to some great "people watching" as people were ferried over from Seven Mile Beach for dinner at the Yacht club. The condo itself was very well equipped with dishes, pots and plenty of spices as well as extra food stuff such as coffee, btea, pasta of all sorts, oatmeal, popcorn, etc. A warning though, this is a sand, beach, water and relax area. There is no night life, activities, etc. available and limited restaurant choices without a car. For us, that is our kind of place and why we chose Starfish Point. Furniture was nice and beds comfortable. Wifi and TV are available and wifi extends out to the beach. There were lots of lounges and chairs available on the beach. There was no sargassum which was great. For beginning snorkelers (and advanced for the picture taking) there were hundreds of fish to see in about 3 feet of water about 10 yards from the condo so even kids could safely swim in an 'aquarium'. There are plenty of starfish to see!! I also saw a small stingray and a small barracuda. There is a large modern supermarket between the airport and the condo (Hurleys) and a small store (Chisholms) about 10 minutes from the condo. There is a very nice pool and spa available just a few feet away but not close enough to be bothered by activities in the pool. Communication with the owner and manager was easy and we experienced no problems in our two week stay. One caveat, bring mosquito repellent (but they also have a supply if you forget!) as there are times when they can be bad as with any place in the islands.

The perfect getaway at Kaibo

This rental was absolutely perfect for us! The location is more relaxed and quiet being away from 7 mile and is my personal favourite spot to hangout. The condo was super clean and bright and had everything we needed for our stay, so we didn’t need to bring any extra items. Checking in and out was super easy and the beaches and pool were incredible. Pictures here require no filter, it is an absolute paradise. I would definitely recommend staying here. Amazing location and condo

Anita was amazing since the day we booked her condo. She was quick to respond to questions I had prior to the arrival and very helpful providing link to hospital for covid testing, grocery markets, etc. On the drive from the airport to her Condo, you could feel the instant sensation of relaxation. The condo is very comfortable and since we arrived late on the sunday, it was nice for her to have frozen bread in the freezer for a late night snack. She also kept the place well equipped with spices, shampoos, etc. The view of the ocean is spectacular. The worst part of renting Anita’s place was having to leave. That said, we hope to return on a yearly basis! Thanks so much Anita, we had a wonderful time!

Understanding owner

We actually did not stay at thIs amazing property bc of the COVID-19 pandemic. We cancelled our trip last minute. The owners were understanding and sympathetic to our decision even though technically the Cayman borders were still open. Prior to this worldwide disaster, Anita sent me an extremely detailed welcome email with maps of groceries and restaurant recommendations. Definitely a lot more than I've ever gotten from other condo owners. It's obvious that they want to insure the best experience for us. I highly recommend this rental for your peace of mind. I hope my family will get to stay here in the future.

Great getaway!

We spent a week here with our 2 young kids for our anniversary. We loved all the amenities described and knew we wouldn’t find a better deal on the island and we were right! We used all the snorkel gear and life jackets which were perfect! We walked to starfish point most mornings and had the place to ourselves until around 10. It was beautiful! I think only 3 or so units were rented at the time so it was quite and secluded. We usually had the beach and pool to ourselves. We rented a car, which we needed and we drove the entire island. Grab an explore magazine at the airport so you will have a map! We think we picked the best spot! There were many more things to do with kids on this side. We did Pedro castle, botanical gardens, blowholes, wreck of the 10 sails, rum point, the beachfront BBQ next door which was fun but costly! About $140 US for family of 4! We were not aware of the currency difference and all restaurants add the gratuity so keep that in mind! It was nice to have a kitchen and we cooked most of our meals. We ran to Chisholm grocery for a few items but it’s more expensive than the large chains so I recommend using those instead. We went to 7 mile once and West Bay for the turtles. Loved the turtle center! We live in SC and 7 mile reminded me of Myrtle beach. I’m sure the beaches and water are gorgeous but it’s super crowded and touristy with high rises everywhere so we were very happy we stayed in our quiet peaceful spot away from the crowds! I contacted Anita once through text when we couldn’t find the Bluetooth speaker for outdoors and she responded within 5 minutes! Even Judy the property manager stopped by and asked if everything was to our liking! Such a friendly and fun island! We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return!!

Alison , thanks for the kind and thorough review ! so glad you enjoyed grand cayman, Kaibo area and especially our condo! Our condo IS kid friendly -- it is our 2nd home and we have grandkids there a lot with us. We try to provide extras you will not find in many vrbo homes. YES-- eating out can expensive -- but probably no more than in resort city in USA. Good feedback and I will add more hints about food costs and how to make more econical choices in my welome letter!.

We are both retired firefighters who enjoy to travel. We have been involved in real estate ownership, development, building and management for over 40 years. We are also avid scuba divers and snorkelers. Grand Cayman offers a great mix of all of these loves. It also gives us a second home to escape to for part of the winter after the holidays with our kids and 'gaggle' of grandkids. We call Elk Grove (near Sacramento) home as do all of our kids. We love our time here by ourselves and with family. We have found all seasons to be great here in Cayman.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

WHY DID WE CHOOSEE KAIBO !!!??? We are a family owned business who visit Grand Cayman often and wanted a place we could truly call a home away from home. One we could enjoy and share with others at an affordable price. Before buying this condo we looked at property all over the island and loving the rum point area decided this condo is the perfect setting to enjoy the island. We are sure you will enjoy your stay here and be as anxious to return to Cayman Islands as we always are.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

This IS our second home - we spend 1/4-1/3 of the year here - so our condo has the extra amenities that make staying here easy and nice. Our condo is VERY kid friendly. We only ask that you take care of the condo as if it was your home too!!
