House was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Only complaint was gas grill didn’t work. However, we would return. Host was very responsive.

I’m a grandmother who gathered my sister and BIL and my Dyr and SIL and my spouse and three grandchildren for a reunion. We chose for square footage and separate spaces with 3 full bathrooms and proximity of multiple things to do across generations. Four elderly and 2 disabled adults.

We had a lovely time staying with family... doing the typical Saugatuck things. We had a fire in the fire pit... went to the beach (the toys, chairs, and cart were great)... took a short cruise... went to Virtue Cider... made breakfast and watched football. The littles played outside and inside... took naps... slept through the night (mostly)... and wanted to return to the "red house" as they drove home.

We really enjoyed our stay - Great house! Updated and lots of space. House is a quick drive to downtown and easy 20 min walk to Douglas beach. Beautiful quiet location with many visits from deer. Owner replies very quick to any questions.

The house was great for our family of 11, we were there the end of July and the bedrooms upstairs never cooled down much there was one box fan but a second box fan would help to circulate the air for each room. The kitchen is nice size but is the least stocked kitchen, we have stayed in for a VRBO property. Cleanliness was good and the host always responded promptly to any questions prior or during our stay. We would rent again but just be better prepared and bring some kitchenware with us.

Great visit to Saugatuck!

Nine family members (6 adults and 3 children) stayed at this comfortable and beautiful property for a week. There was plenty of room for all of us. The 3 children loved the double bunk beds and the the basement playroom. The property is in a very convenient spot. Its walkable to Douglas Beach and very close to Oval Beach. Both are beautiful spots. It's also an easy drive to the town's of Saugatuck and Golland, which are wonderful. I would definitely recommend staying at this home.

Nice and convenient

This is a large house in Saugatuck. Very convenient to the town and Holland. It's in a quiet neighborhood on a large lot. We saw a family of deer several days. There's a fire pit that we didn't use. It was a bit too cold for us. Two screened in seating areas. It was quiet no sirens or traffic. The kitchen had everything we needed. Large frig and freezer. Everything worked fine. There's a nearby pizza (which was quite good) and convenience store that has everything.

Fall 2024

We enjoyed our 3 night stay with family, ages 24-65. Loved the main level area and the table where we could enjoy watching nature. We enjoyed watching movies at night in the movie room. The desk cubby on the second level was great for those that had to work remote.

Comfortable, serene, and spacious

Wonderful stay for a mult-generational trip, including one dog. We had age ranges from 11-77 and the home was perfect to allow community and family bonding, but also give quiet space and retreats when needed. Being pet-friendly was the cherry on top! Owner was incredibly responsive, usually responding to inquiries within minutes via the VRBO app message system. Restocked promptly on a few items, so 5+ stars for owner support. Location was fantastic-close enought to the town of Saugatuck and Oval Beach, but tucked away that it felt like a peaceful hideaway. We enjoyed the patio, fire pit, and use of the grill. Lots of deer will wonder through the yard which is pretty cool to see! Very well appointed home with modern furnishings, a great washer/dryer, and the basement theater room was amazing for nightly watching of shows and movies with family. Overall, great place with a great owner. Highly reccomend, especially for larger groups.

Excellent Saugatuck Stay

Ten 3-generation family members had a wonderful visit in this spacious accommodating property where we could all have both together time and also private time. Easy and comfortable for sleeping, cooking, as well as playing games. Using the really big screen was a lot of fun. Only a short drive to the beach and the town made for a great time overall.

Spectacular

Just returned from a three night stay at this fabulous home. Four long time friends from different states gathered to to enjoy the weekend in Saugatuck. The home could not have been better! Very clean, well appointed and large enough for each of us have our own bedroom. Bonus for us city people were the deer that came to visit throughout the day. Appreciated all the elements the house offered, the basement theatre and gaming were outstanding but we ended spending most the time in the living room with the fireplace on, we had many years to catch up. The location of the house was perfect, within minutes we were in Douglas and Saugatuck. Phoebe has done a remarkable job with this property, we hope to stay there again sometime later this year! Can't thank you enough Phoebe!!

new Year getaway

The house was perfect for our family. best part was the deer that was in the backyard every day. house was clean and kitchen/ family room was perfect to play games with kids. the kids loved the basement with big screen and their own bedroom with bathroom. Close to everything and yard was amazing but too cold for us to use. owner responds very quickly to emails sent through VBRO.

Great spot!

What a wonderful stay! The location is very scenic and private. We woke up to deer at the door and on the property daily (which the kids and dogs loved). Just a five minute drive to downtown Saugatuck, so perfect for everyone who wanted to explore as well as relax at the house. Perfect spot in the basement movie room for a hangout with the entire family. Nice to have the rooms on multiple floors so no one woke each other throughout the night. Overall positive experience, clean home with a lot of thought and care put into giving us a great stay. Plus phoebe was super accessible the whole time which put us at ease as well.

Perfect location

All nine of us loved our stay in Saugatuck. The house was in a perfect location— close to both Oval Beach and the downtown area. The kids loved the game room downstairs and the adults loved the sun screened in porches. I did have to message phoebe over some minor issues and she was always prompt in her answers and very easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again!

A really nice property!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The teens loved their space down in the big game/movie room. My daughter loved what came to be known as the napping porch. We had a total of 12 people at our max, 8 adults, three teens and one child. It sleeps 12, but that would require adults to sleep in the bunk room or the game room with the kids, so for us, we could have used another bedroom, but we made it work for the two nights we had everyone there on the weekend. Otherwise it was everything we needed! Having ample pantry space was really convenient. We did a lot of cooking during our 12 day stay and had enough cookware and dishes, though not serving dishes, but we managed using baking pans and casserole dishes. I did pick up some throw rugs at the dollar store for the kitchen and bathrooms. The bath mats are thin and not very functional. There were enough bath towels and beach towels as long as we ran the washer often. Plenty of laundry and kitchen detergents, trash bags, toilet paper and a starter paper towel roll. Really nice having shampoo, conditioner and bath soap dispensers in the showers. Four beach chairs, two beach umbrellas, and many sand toys for the younger kids were in the garage. The gas grill was used a few times, and the burners aren’t in great working order, but worked well enough to get us through our meals. Phoebe was very responsive to any questions I had, she’s tried to think of everything and has done a nice job on this house! We would recommend!

Scenic quiet house

My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. There are a family of deer that come through the back yard every morning that were so peaceful to watch. Master bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable.

Beautiful spacious modern home

We have visited Saugatuck many times over the years with my family. My son, my sisters and I spent a long weekend here and loved it. Very comfortable beds. Clean. Lovely gas fireplace in the family room with plenty of seating. A great home. The manager was super attentive to ensure our stay was best in class. Awesome basement with so much to do. Highly recommended.

Winter Retreat

We had a great teen retreat at this property for a group of 13. The layout was perfect and the basement was a teenager’s dream. We loved watching the deer graze in the morning. We would definitely come back! Thank you for hosting us.

Beautiful home with a great location and wonderful host!

Beautifully designed and very spacious home. Great views from the windows of the wooded yard full of wildlife. Feels like you're miles away from civilization and yet you're within walking distance to the lake and no more than several minutes from the Saugatuck and Douglas downtown areas. Host is extremely prompt with communication and very hospitable---she even had firewood delivered for us! Would definitely stay again.
