We are now offering bookings for this SINGLE side of the cottage duplex (the other unit will be empty so you will still have the ENTIRE property to yourselves). This side has 2 bedrooms with 3 beds, sleeps 6 max (including children), 1 full bath, 1 half bath, full size washer/dryer, full kitchen, outdoor summer shower, enclosed front patio and outdoor back porch with lights. There is a gas grill, picnic table and lighted oak trees out back as well.

A charming and stylishly remodeled vintage beach cottage consisting of 1 attached unit of our single-level, duplex cottage. About a 90 second walk to the sand, you can easily enjoy the beach for your morning coffee or spend the day enjoying the sun, soft sand, and ocean breezes while swimming or shelling. Park in back, walk right in! We have private, large concrete parking both front and back. WE INCLUDE ALL LINENS AND BEACH GEAR!! SUPPLIES WE PROVIDE: PAPER TOWELS, TOILET PAPER, DISH SOAP, DISHWASHER SOAP, HAND SOAP, TRASH BAGS, LAUNDRY SUPPLIES, TIN FOIL, PLASTIC ZIP LOCK BAGS, COFFEE, SUGAR, CREAM, AND 2 GALLONS OF BOTTLED WATER. ALL LINENS INCLUDING BEACH TOWELS. BEACH CHAIRS, BEACH UMBRELLA, ROLLING BEACH CART, LARGE AND SMALL COOLERS, SAND TOYS, CORN HOLE GAME. ***FREE WIFI, CABLE AND NETFLIX.

A true vintage beach cottage duplex, LAUGHING WHALE COTTAGE underwent a big restoration and renovation to provide all the quality, charm and character you want for your beach vacation. You have the use of the ENTIRE property to yourselves for parking, relaxing, BBQing, games or dining. The pictures say it all: original ceilings and beams, new ship lap walls, full kitchens and 1 full/1 half bathrooms with all new fixtures including full size washer and dryer! Since this house is furnished for use by us and our family/friends, you will find comfy beds, new and vintage furniture, and top quality linens such as Tommy Bahama and Ralph Lauren. There is an enclosed front patio with climate control with table and chairs for dining or games. In back is a covered wood porch and gas grill so you can BBQ, play corn hole (provided) and sit under the pair of oaks that are lit for night time enjoyment. There is an enclosed outdoor summer shower and shell washing station (great for sandy toys too).
You are a short walk to several restaurants/bars and a short drive to SO many restaurants, shopping, golf, miniature golf, and bowling. Minutes from Barefoot Landing, House of Blues, and many other local attractions, as well as all the tourist attractions in Myrtle Beach. There are many special events here in NMB such as Thursday free summer concerts downtown.

***We have ALWAYS taken great care in the cleanliness of our rental as you can see from even our first reviews. We have ALWAYS used bleach based products as well as disinfectant wipes to clean all high touch surfaces, counters, light switches, handles, door knobs, remote controls and even EACH page of our guest book! We also provide a bottle of disinfecting cleaner for guests to use.


LAYOUT:

EACH side features a kitchen, dining set with 4 chairs, living room. The enclosed front patio has table/chair seating for 4 with 2 extra chairs. (***with whole house rental, the connecting door is open to seat 12 on the patios)
EACH side has a primary bedroom with king size bed. The second bedroom on one side has 2 queen beds, the other side second bedroom has 1 queen and 1 full bed. The sofas are NOT sleepers.
Each side has a full size washer and dryer!

**Please note we have exterior, motion activated cameras.

Living rooms have a large flat screen TV, sofa, love seat and chair.

Kitchens have dishwasher, full oven/stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. Blender, iron and ironing board available by request.

This was such a wonderful place! We went for a girls weekend getaway! Place was clean and we were welcomed with a sweet sign as we entered as well as treats and drinks in frig! The host was great!! The laughing whale cottage is nothing short of beautiful. Mary and Scott are incredibly accommodating and make sure you have everything there for your stay! From the cleanliness to the high quality beach chairs our family stays here every time we can. We call it our little beach house. Highly recommend to anyone for a getaway.

To say this home-away-from-home is a delight is an understatement. It is comfortable, welcoming, extremely clean, easy walk to beach, has all the comforts and conveniences one expects and then some. The best vacation

The cottage was perfect for our 5 night stay for two adults and two teenagers. Scott and Mary have thought of everything needed for a perfect stay from beach chairs and beach wagon to coffee and creamer. They even supplied containers to take seashells home! The location was easy to find and close to attractions while still being quiet. We would definitely stay again when coming back to the area.

Such a great place to stay. My wife and I wanted a small weekend getaway and it was the best spot, privacy, and only a block from the beach. We had access to chairs and even had complimentary snacks and a small gift. Will definitely be staying here again, especially when our son arrives.

This house makes you want to slow down with it's friendly old beach style and character and has a great "Happy Beachy Feel". Our friends and family say they literally feel decompressed after walking through the door and we couldn't agree more! We never would've dreamed we could be this close to the beach, and the days spent here are ones of sitting under beach umbrellas with a good book, playing beach games, collecting shells, wine at sunset, BBQing and hanging out under the oaks in the evening, playing cards or games on the enclosed patios until bedtime. It just never gets old:)

The house is single level with just 2 short steps to get in back door. You can pull your car within feet of the back door to load and unload. There is plenty of concrete parking, which is rare at the beach. Many of our neighbors live here full time so there is more of a neighborhood feel (and we love our neighbors!). Short walk to several bars/restaurants, ice cream shop.
