Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

The beds were very comfy. I always clean regardless of where we stay when we arrive. I’m glad I did here as there were open wrappers on the floor and hair in the bathroom. Overall though it was clean. Would have been nice to have trimmed trees and wasp nests taken care of on the back porch so we could have enjoyed our morning coffee there. Blinds by door handles can be dangerous… watch your fingers! The smells in the house were musty but I also bring air freshener so after a day or so not as bad. Overall a great place to stay. Short walk to beach and pool. We enjoyed both!

Needs some updating

The neighborhood is great, we’ve been going there for 10 years. I would book a different place the next time we go. This house needs some serious updating and general maintenance.

Our stay was lovely. The dryer squeeked very loudly when drying but other than that it was clean and a perfect spot!

Good time but not as clean as wished.

The place is really nice, but felt that cleaning could have been better. Check-In & out was a breeze and codes to get in easy to use. Our only issues was how cleanly the place was. There were crumbs on the nightstand in the master bedroom with dust bunnies under the bed. Within the first 2 days we had to kill 2 cockroaches (living room & master). I picked up the remote after it went under the couch in the living room and found an old sock… We pulled up and a trash can was near the fence almost overflowing with trash.

Built For Me

This is the perfect place to stay for some autonomy time or with your partner. I loved the location. I was able to see fireworks from the boardwalk. If you plan to stay here in the summer heat, beware that there is a walk to the beach access. It actually took me a minute to find the access point. We loved staying in the fall. The weather was amazing. This will be for sure a once a year go to spot for me. This house was built for me!

Dissappointed

Upon arrival, everything seemed in order. Once inside and we started looking around, it became obvious that attention to detail is not a top priority for this management company and/or owner. Cobwebs on dining room lights, sporadic mold in showers and living room furniture that blocked portions of the front door. Upon our departure and stripping the beds as required per check out procedures, the foam topper had several stains and appeared to be overly worn from several years of use without replacement. The front door handle was hard to operate from the inside due to an oversized window blind that impeded access to physically grab the door lever. The front gate, worn, rotted and pickets falling apart, was unusable and was equipped with a combination lock. A beautiful neighborhood deserves better. Our first year at Destin Pointe in 2003 was at the Destin Dolphin, and over the past 21 years, across many homes and condos and great experiences, this one stands out at the top of biggest disappointments. There is no doubt we will continue to rent in the neighborhood for years to come but the Destin Dolphin, unless the attention to detail becomes a priority, will NOT be on our list of potential places to stay.

House was clean and easy walk to pool and beach. It was perfect for our family of four with two full baths and plenty of kitchen utensils,etc. The one problem was that the listing said four bikes are available. The code that was written in contract was not the correct bike like code. I reached out several times and they answered that it was the same code. A handyman even came by and tried it and it still didn’t work. We were disappointed that we couldn’t use the bikes for our week there as it would have definitely made our visit more enjoyable.

Not as advertised

House smelled musty and found a lot of black mold all over the furnace closet. Couldn’t even run the AC cause of the smell and it distributing the smell throughout the house. Management did nothing about it. House is listed with two beach chairs and umbrella at private beach and once there the guard at the beach said home we were staying in did not renew the membership for chairs and umbrella. Had to sit in sand and on towels when the rest of the group had chairs. House came with 4 bikes that they didn’t know the combo to unlock them when I asked for it, so no bike lane to use. Did not get money worth or accommodations for issues.

Go Somewhere Else

This is a lovely neighborhood with a property that is run down. There were stains on the furniture and rugs, three years of dust on the fans, the dishwasher door wouldn’t close, the refrigerator froze our food, there weren’t any knives. Those are the highlights. We’ve stayed at Destin Pointe many,many times this was the absolute worse house in the neighborhood.

Great place for a small group or a couple

This house did a very good job for my wife and me. It would have been cramped if more than one other couple had been with us. The kitchen is small and the property is in need of some updating. We had a great time.

Great place to stay

What a Cute house! It smelled clean and looked well kept. Not too far from the boardwalk with pool and beach access. Stations available to rinse off or shower after the beach and also in the restrooms of the pool section for after the pool to keep the sand under control. The mattresses and pillows are encased with zipper covers under the shams and sheets with an extra layer of protection. It’s something important to us because one of our kids has allergies. Comfortable stay with plenty of things to cook with and plenty of napkins, toilet paper, towels, dishes , ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, washer and dryer. They even have scissors! TVs have Netflix access and cable. Our stay even included an umbrella and two chairs at the beach (first come, first serve) The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because the bath tub in the hallway drained way too slow and we couldn’t use it like that. Fortunately the other bathroom had a bath tub and a shower so we all shared those. Also the rooms don’t have lights on the fans so you can’t turn on the lights with the normal switch, you have to use the lamps, which was very inconvenient especially for our kids who had a harder time. Would stay here again because it was a decent price and a good stay. Way better than fighting for parking at a condo place and having to go up a few flights of stairs.
