Beautiful Meadow View

Newly renovated 2 Bedroom 1 bath Cabin with large yard that sits along a big beautiful meadow at the base of Weminuche Wilderness. The views are breathtaking as you look out to the towering peaks that reach over 13 thousand feet. With newly remodeled floor, bathroom, and kitchen you'll enjoy every minute of your stay. Master bedroom has a spacious queen size bed along with plenty of lighting and large clothes dresser. The second bedroom has two twin size beds along with a dresser and lamp. Both bedrooms have plenty of space in the closets to hang things up. Just off the kitchen there is a queen size couch hide-a-bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of dishes, cookware, both a full size coffee pot and Keruig machine with supplied pods, coffee and filters. There is several ice trays in the freezer. In the living room you'll find a smart TV along with a couple board games if you decide to stay inside. During Summer and Fall there is a cold water only washing machine and clothes dryer if you need to do any laundry. The cabin is less then a quarter mile from a popular trailhead that leads deep into the wilderness. If boating and fishing is your thing you'll love how close you are to Vallecito Reservoir where there's awesome Trout, Pike, Walleye, Small mouth Bass, and Kokanee salmon. There is 2 rivers that feed the lake where you can fly fish. If horseback riding is more your liking there are several companies that do horseback rides during the summer months. Minutes away are several trailheads that lead to many hours of exploring and adventures in one of Colorado's largest wildernesses. If you want to bring an RV or trailer you'll find lots of space for parking as well as an RV dump station on the property. This is a dog friendly property but we do have a dog fee as well as a limit of 2 dogs. We just ask that your furry friends do not get on any of the furniture or beds please.

Great Cabin to Share with Camping Family

The proximity to the Vallecito Camp Ground allowed us to be close to our family camping, but still provide comfort for non-campers. Great time and recommend highly.

Vallecito Area

This was a good location to access Vallecito Creek Trailhead and the creek itself. We had dogs with us which the Host kindly allowed. There is not a fenced in yard or area, and that was a problem for us, as there I was TONS of traffic, walkers, baby strollers, dog walkers, bicycles and cars. I knew it wasnr fenced, I just didn’t know it was so close to neighbors. Good trip though, thanks for the stay.

Not sure how we got 4 stars for not having a fence you can clearly see we dont have in our pictures. As well as you mention this. Its a shame your unruly dogs that were aggressive went after those enjoying the area because you didnt leash them when i called to talk to you about this you took 2 days to get back to us. I believe we allowed your 4 dogs which is 2 more then we allow because you said they were well behaved which clearly they are not. So now future dog people who do have well behaved dogs will suffer because we cant trust people who say their dogs are well behaved.. Asking questions before renting also helps to understand an area. I dont believe hosts should recieve 4 stars for inability to properly communicate. Nor did we charge you extra for the massive amount of dog hair left on the furniture which we should of especially after i told you that the dogs are not allowed on the couches, beds, or any furniture.

In between homes

We stayed at James’s cabin while waiting to close on our new house in nearby Bayfield. This is a gem, in a beautiful location where you can hear Vallecito creek flowing. It gives you the feel of an old school family cabin, while offering all the modern and clean conveniences. We appreciated how well stocked it was. We also had our grandkids spend one night and they enjoyed playing in the yard. We had a beautiful experience and highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a peaceful and gorgeous Colorado mountain location!
