The house is clean and well kept. The view of the ocean is amazing and there is a short walk to the beach. I had an issue with the door code but I called the host and it resolved quickly. I would get a text each morning checking in with my trip and ready with recommendations if I needed them. My family and I enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend this property. It’s cozy and clean with an amazing back deck to take in the sights and sounds of the ocean.

The property was bigger than we originally anticipated and it was set up wonderfully for our family of 7. We loved the porch with the beach view and having an onsite laundry room. We thought that the property had its own private walkway to the beach, which it did not, but it was only one house over from the public beach access so not a big deal. We did have a little bit of trouble with our door code, but the customer service representative was wonderful and very nice and fixed it for us right away. Would recommend.

We so enjoyed the vintage cottage vibes. It was a birthday girls Labor Day weekend. The town was so cozy. My only complaint is NC doesn’t have enough Spanish moss for my beach getaways.

Perfect Vacation

Our family had the best time! The house is just perfectly cozy and charming. I loved the amazing ocean view and easy walk to the beach. The house was clean, well stocked and the beds were comfortable, good parking, washer and dryer lots of cupboardspace. The house just had a warm, inviting vibe and I didnt want to leave. It's definitely an amazing place to unwind from a busy world.

Perfect family cottage on the ocean

The Last Chance provided the perfect spot for our adult family of 5. The bathrooms were nicely updated and everything was clean and waiting for us. After a bit of a planning snafu, the owners and property managers went out of their way to help us resolve the issue and we were so grateful. Highly recommend this cottage.

We had a very good experience overall. Compared to other 3-bedroom, first-row properties in the area, this one is among the most cost-effective. The view from the back porch is excellent, the neighborhood is family-friendly, and access to the beach is easy (via the public access route one house away). Salt and Sand Realty is responsive. You can expect to receive automated text messages from them daily, so they stay in touch. They were also responsive by phone and text when we reached out. I appreciated the credit they provided for VayKGear rental services, which we leveraged to acquire beach chairs and a small cart, which are not included in the cost of the property.Some issues: (1) The ceiling light in the living room was not working upon arrival, so seating area was dark at night. Salt and Sand Realty arranged for that to get fixed within 2 days of check-in. (2) While the property is advertised for 9 visitors, only 6 chairs are provided for dining. We asked if we could have a couple of foldable chairs, but the owners of the property declined the request. There are no bar stools either, so a large group may need to either take shifts during a meal, or sit in different spots. (3) The top bunks were not made, despite us indicating that we were a full part of 9. (5) the automated key pad didn't work a couple of times, so we needed help getting in. (6) Not enough glasses in the kitchen, which were topped up 2 days in.

Great family house!

Great property! Better than expected. Few things that are important with my family when renting a beach house that you may not know until you show up - beds are cozy! Not cheap and hard. AC works great in all bedrooms. Nice deck with a dining table outside- we love our family dinners outside with a beach view. Kitchen had everything we needed for dinners in. The grill was missing and they delivered a new gas grill immediately when I called. Salt and Sand is great! Will be checking out all their properties. I will share as there was only 2 things with the property that wasn’t a big deal for us but may help others, the master bath toilet is so close to the wall my husband couldn’t use it, my knees touched the wall. The laundry is outside under the house. I’d go back to the same property, but this may not work for others- so check the other Salt and Sand houses if needed! Thanks and we will be back!

House if fine - management company terrible

The house in a good location - looks like pics - three star meaning it's an average house - a little older but just fine for us. If the owner wants to be successful he needs to find a new managment company. Basically nothing to use in kitchen. We flew in - had to buy beach chairs for 3 days use - they could have supplied these. Bathroom shower curtain too short and fell down. Asked for late check out - they said we could stay until 11am - asked if we got out of house and packed car if we could stay on the beach a little longer if we could leave car in one of two spots at house - the answer was no because it might confuse the maid. Later in the day when we realized that we left a small electronic item we called to see if maid could get it for us - but they told us maid wasn't coming until next day. So they could have let us stay later - just couldn't be bothered - but that would have made our trip much better. Asked them to call back when they found the item - they never did. Followed up much later and they said they would charge us $25 to stick in regular mail. Oh forgot, asked if they had a grill - they said yes - ends up to be a TINY floor unit that might cost $19. They had not beach towels or beach umbrellas or any beach toys of any kind. The wifi code in the unit was the wrong one and the TV didn't work the entire time. Nobody there cares. But the house is fine.

We brought a family of 5 to stay for a week. Loved the house - very clean and as described. Good cold a/c. My only complaint was that the bathrooms were pretty small for my family - but my kids are 6’5”. Easy access to beach. Little more crowded near our spot though because of the public beach access one house away. Great daily communication check in from the host!
