Location is perfect for fishing in fort Morgan or hanging out at the beach. The cleaners do fine inside. No bugs inside. Caught big fish at the fort Morgan point.Downside is the general upkeep of the property is poor. Lots of trash, tall weeds, and rusty junk. Killed a cottonmouth in the carport, that made the tall weeds even more of an issue. Everyone got sharp burrs in their feet and they got brought inside by sticking to clothing. Handrails on back stairs felt like they would fall off, lots of mold in upstairs bathroom.

Perfect Vacation

This was such a great location for our family trip! Everyone had such a great time, and the house was perfect for us! We ended up staying and playing in the bay more than the beach. We brought our paddle boards and made use of the kayaks provided and everyone loved every moment of it. Nothing better than the sunsets. Thank you!

Fort Morgan/ Gulf shores

I want to start by saying we had a great trip, however there were a few minor issues. The third bedroom with a full/queen bed is actually a loft. It looks over the entire house and has zero privacy. However, it has some of the best views! You can see a little bit of the gulf and a whole lot of the bay. The bathroom up there is TINY and there was a lot of mold growing on the ceiling from people showering and then shutting the door. When we originally got there, the house was SO warm. The ceiling fans in the living room and the loft bedroom wouldn’t work. I did let the owner know and he tried to get someone out. However, the house ended up cooling down by the next day and with the floor fans that were provided, the house became comfortable. You can swim right outside the house, but I would be careful. We saw a gator (evening) and a stingray (morning) within 12 hours of each other, directly on the shore behind the house. Lastly, Fort Morgan is WAY out there on the peninsula. It’s a beautiful drive, but know it’s about 23 minutes back into GS. There’s not much out there, a Dollar General, a couple food places and a small market/ liquor store. Don’t let that deter you, just make sure you shop before heading out. We had a great trip. We had a group of 9 ( 4 adults, 5 kids) and each of us had plenty of room. We had beautiful views and saw dolphins one evening. Make sure to check out the fort and take the ferry to Dauphin Island (bring your car), it’s a must do experience!

Wonderful for family

Love the large spaces for family gathering (games, etc.)… There were ants in a few of the rooms, however they did send someone right out to treat for them ..

Definitely Recommend!

This property is SO beautiful. I spent most mornings drinking my coffee while watching the waves crash in. There was no shortage of wildlife to watch from the sunroom. The kids loved watching for crabs and seeing the jumping fish. We even spotted a baby stingray. The only downside is that many attractions are 30 minutes away. However, there are restaurant options very close so we did not need to go into town each day. The beach across the street is amazing! Beautiful sand and water. We were there in the height of tourism and easily found a spot and was never crowded. (the bonus of being a little ways from town). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Owner was very accommodating and responded to any needs we had!

Amazing location

The propertys location was amazing. The house was clean but the down fall was dishes were put up dirty. We found lots of dishes that were dirty. The internet there did not work for us at all and there was a storm 2 days while we were there and couldnt get the TV's to pick up anything. There was nothing on the listing saying anything about the Internet we had to find out once we got there in a note book of notes. Again the location was great.

The description was perfect. The home is beautiful. Perfect space for family. We really enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend this home, especially to unplug from your busy life. Thanks for letting us enjoy your home.

Relaxing by the bay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. House was as listed, but more beautiful in person!! Waking up to the beautiful view was so lovely. Even though there was a lot of people at Fort Morgan, we felt like we were at a little secluded corner of the world. Everything was wonderful except for one thing, the internet. It was terrible and there was no tv service provider. We made it just fine, but would have been nice to be able to watch the Iron Bowl without stressing over trying to cast it to the tv with bad internet.

Absolutely beautiful!

First of all, this place was more than I expected! When we arrived, my family and I were blown away, and not just because of the house either. When I was searching for a vacation rental, I was a little disappointed that I could not get a place right on the beach, that is, until we arrived and saw how beautiful the location was. You literally, are right on the bay, which is unbelievably gorgeous. You get to hear sounds of the gulf shores, ( which is right across the street), at the front of the house, and the sound of the bay right in your back yard! My kiddos enjoyed very much all the ammentities that were included. The shuffle board inside, the corn hole, darts, fishing on the dock, and of course.....the canoes!! I very much appreciated the beach gear that is there for you to use! Oh, yeah, and the outside elevator shaft that was located by the stairs!! Saved our backs when unloading all the families luggage. The host had 2 water hoses outside to rinse off with before going inside, which helped a lot with the sand. Having all your basic needs in the home made things very easy for us. The washer and dryer, all the kitchen gear, comfy furniture, nice fridge, etc. VERY CLEAN!! As for the host.....Deb was very nice and accommodating. I made contact with her during our stay with a few questions and I had no trouble getting a response. When she sent the email with all the requirements while staying there, she also gave some good options for places to eat and visit, which was nice because this was our first time to Gulf Shores. If I was to offer any suggestions, it would be to maybe add extra comfy blankets to have and possibly investing in a small vacuum to pick up the sand instead of just a broom. But honestly that's it! All in all, a wonderful place to stay! I would definitely bring my family back here!!

Sunset Bay was amazing!

We had a wonderful time. Short walk over to the beach, the bay at your feet. Out of the hustle and business of town, but not to far to drive. Tacky Jacks was great. Fresh, hot seafood. Would definitely recommend for anyone. Gorgeous sunsets! 😍

Great Getaway

We're from Texas and my teenagers really wanted a few days at the beach this summer. With camps and jobs, we finally realized that we could get away the week of July 4th. I went on VRBO to try and find a place, and Fort Morgan popped up. It was a brand new listing and there were no reviews. I typically rely on reviews but given the short notice, I took a leap of faith. The pictures looked good and they were offering a new property discount, so I booked it. After our 10+ hour drive, we pulled up and the place was awesome! It far exceeded any expectations we had, and we had a wonderful stay. It was away from the crowds, with a great view of the bay, and only a short walk from the white sand beach. The house has been recently remodeled, and it seemed nearly brand new. Deb, the owner, was very responsive to our inquiries and even came by to check on us in person. This truly is a 5 star experience.

Beautiful and great location

Deb was a wonderful host. We were her very first guests and she did amazing. The house is amazing and the beaches across the street are beautiful. I would recommend staying here every time you would like to stay in the Fort Morgan/Gulf Shores area.
