This unit is truly one of the largest, most beautiful condos in Destin. This amazing three-bedroom, three-bathroom, 6th-floor unit with a spacious floor plan offers unparalleled views of the Gulf of Mexico, lake, and golf course. The private balcony with full Gulf views is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or experience a romantic sunset.


This open floor plan condo is tiled with luxurious travertine throughout the foyer, living room, bathrooms, and kitchen. There is a full wet bar in the living room, complete with beautiful wine, martini, beer, and margarita glasses for your enjoyment. There is a sound system throughout the unit, including speakers on the balcony! The high-end dining table seats 8-10 comfortably. The kitchen and bathrooms have just been renovated with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, including a double oven and French door refrigerator, vessel sinks, a heated Jacuzzi, and a rainfall shower-head!


This beautiful vacation rental condo offers two gorgeous master bedrooms with king beds - each with its own private spa bath and balcony overlooking the Gulf. A third bedroom has two double beds and a huge window with a stunning view of the lake. An additional sleeper sofa is located in the living room. Large tiled balconies facing both the front and rear with ample comfortable seating, provide a place for sunbathing, reading, dining, or just enjoying the view.


In the living room, you will find a TV with an HD converter, iPod docking cables, movies, and board games. This condo is perfect for a family vacation and provides all the comforts of home right on the Gulf of Mexico.

This condo was beautifully decorated and fully equipped for all your vacation needs. The front balcony is very spacious overlooking the beach and ocean. We also enjoyed having the back balcony overlooking the lake for a more private setting. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone and will definitely stay there again. The Empress is a well kept secret and an incredible vacation destination.

The pictures online didn't do any justice. The view was amazing. It was peaceful and central to where we needed to go. There were some snags, but they did fix them, which is what mattered. I would overall recommend the condo.

We have stayed at the Empress for years, was surprised the carpet is really bad in this unit has "tons" of huge stains from spills, needs to be replaced, especially in this price point! Air conditioning is terrible in the master bedroom, when you walk into the room there is a huge difference, we left the curtains closed the entire stay and still terribly warm, the rest of the condo seemed fine.

The doors don't close good and the ice machine or water dispenser did not work. Seems like a minor issue but even hotels give you free ice. So if I paid that much I would expect everything to be working - especially a fridge in that kind of heat. A solution might be to have a community ice machine or something. We needed ice for coolers, etc.

Location vrs Aesthetics

The view, location and beach access are 5 Stars! The wear and tear abuse of the unit is obvious upon entry and annoying by the time you leave. The baseboards and leading edges are dingy in color, marked and chipped paint throughout with some trim loose and falling apart. Door handles are all loose and falling off. Some blinds and blind cords donā€™t work or function correctly. Window tint is winkled and bubbly. Whirlpool faucet and handles loose and wobbly. The TVs are older than the first edition Keurig coffee machine. AC works great in every room except the master bedroom, it doesnā€™t work at all. All agreed the mattresses could be updated. Balcony patio furniture has seen its days.

Reviewer Comments: Honestly, this place is as advertised - beautiful decor, excellent location and views, excellent parking, carts and an elevator to help you load and unload your luggage. Staff was attentive. Kitchen had lots of storage, the fridge was large with a working ice maker, stove worked fine and the dishwasher was super quiet. The fan was a nice touch and was used often as temps along with the humidity reached over 100 a few days. The only thing I would say was negative was the master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. Once that's done, I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! If we make the trek to Destin again, this will be the place we stay. As an FYI, we had 5 adults and one baby staying the week - plenty of room! Another FYI - if you stay here and turn the TV in the living room on and get the grey bars on the side, simply hit the '*' button on the Dish remote until it gets the correct aspect to show - took us a few days to figure this one out...

Really nice furniture and decor, great internet and the master bed slept like a dream, but that's where the good ended. For a large place that accommodates up to 13, we were allowed 12 towels, which went fast. Doing laundry every day isn't my idea of a great vacation. Also, the kitchen utensils were really lacking for a place of this caliber. Make sure you bring your own, well, everything. If not, you're going to be shopping for toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, garbage bags,etc. on your first day there. The washer and dryer were older and the dryer took 3 cycles to dry beach towels. The laundry room in general smells like sewer, especially in the evening. As another renter stated, the master bedroom a/c wasn't working so we were dealing with that the 1st night and a mobile a/c sitting in the floor, venting out a window the entire stay. For a place this elegant, there needs to be some improvements.

Nice unit -- just needs a couple of things

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful,large unit that needs attention. There were a few small issues that we're addressed very quickly, and a couple of larger ones that really need attention, one cosmetic and one functional. The carpet in the second living room (which is being used as a dining room in this unit) is a total mess. There is a large tear that is unraveling with thick threads of yarn hanging loose. Second, there is no separate icemaker and the one in the fridge works very, very slow. No one wants to be continually out of ice on vacation. This is with average use; we didn't make frozen drinks or fill coolers. Often at dinner, we'd fill two or three glasses and the dispenser would be empty. We had to buy ice twice just for normal use.We enjoyed our visit, but wouldn't knowingly choose a unit with ripped carpet and a bad icemaker. I hope these items are repaired, because this is a gorgeous unit in many ways.

Big Condo, Great Location

Pros: My family couldnā€™t say enough good about this space. Finding space for nine is no easy task, but this spacious condo was perfect. The views from both balconies are beautiful. The kitchen is stocked with nearly everything you could need to cook meals for your family. The building itself is clean, modern, and convenient to access the beach and local businesses. Cons: We arrived at the complex 30 minutes prior to the 4:00 check in time. When we pulled in, we found it to be a gated complex that requires a code. I called the rental company to get the code so we could wait in the parking lot for our check in time & they lady refused to give it to us & said weā€™d get the info we needed when it was the 4:00 check in time. Fortunately, someone at the complex gave us a code to get into the parking lot so we had somewhere to wait. (The complex manager, Al, was FANTASTIC.) After a short time in the condo, we found a coffee maker with no pot & the floors were very dirty. I messaged Glass Casa and someone was in our condo very quickly with a brand new coffee pot & someone to mop the kitchen floor. Despite the cleaning of the kitchen, the carpet & other flooring in the condo is dirty/soiled below the surface & our feet were visibly dirty & black from walking around the condo. The flooring needs a good, deep cleaning, both carpet and tile. All things aside, this is an incredible space & we will absolutely book it again when we come back with the whole family!

Spacious, Relaxing, and Beautiful!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo was beautiful & very spacious! Amazing views of the beach on one balcony and peaceful views of the inlet and golf course on another balcony! Beds were comfy and it was nice to have a washer and dryer. However, upon our arrival one of the master bedrooms and bathrooms had a VERY bad mildew smell! It was pretty dang BAD! But once I discovered it was a wet, mildewed shower mat, we set it outside on the balcony and I sprayed some room spray and the smell went away. There were some cobwebs in the fake greenery too. There was also construction going on the condo right below us for a couple of days. It was loud and obnoxious. Also, we had a surprise visit from a maintenance worker one morning who said he needed to inspect the unit. We all felt awkward and even wondered if he was legit. We assume he was just weird having someone come inspect the unit during our stay. I figured they would do that after we checked out. The balconies could use a good cleaning too. If someone could get up there with a blower to blow off all the sand and maybe mop one good time it would make a big difference. We loved the spacious kitchen and rooms! We can't wait for our next vacation at the beach!
