The Sandcastle is a completely updated beachfront home that has been owned by a single family for over 40 years, and is now available for renters too! The Sandcastle is located on some of the most prized beachfront property on the entire island, featuring some of the BEST FISHING, SHELLING, AND SUNSET-WATCHING in southwest Florida. Step outside your door and walk ten feet of white sandy beach to the water. This location is so private that you may go an entire day without seeing anyone else on your beach. Enjoy the pristine waters and exceptional fishing, all to yourself!

The house was designed to take full advantage of the beautiful beachfront location. A huge sundeck expands the length of the home, and is ideal for enjoying your morning coffee while watching schools of breaching dolphin, meandering manatees, and osprey diving to catch fish. The beautiful custom kitchen features an open design and is fully equipped, including plenty of dishes and equipment to make and enjoy homemade dinners. The living room features a pull-out queen sofa bed, and a huge flat screen TV with satellite and DVD player. The master bedroom features an unbelievably comfortable king-size bed, full bathroom, flat screen TV, and dresser. The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for the kids, with a flat screen TV and dresser. We also have baby items like a Pack n' Play, highchair, and toys. There are two full bathrooms with all-new linens. The decor is playful, modern and cozy, perfect to make you feel at home during your beach vacation. If you need something we don't have, a simple call to the property manager will fix that!

Beautiful North Captiva Island (also called Upper Captiva), is one of Florida's best-kept vacation secrets! The island remains COMPLETELY NATURAL, without paved roads, cars, or crowds of tourists. Our island's sandy roads are traveled by bicycle and golf cart, and North Captiva can only be reached by boat or private aircraft. Our property manager will help you arrange transportation (including a water taxi from the mainland), groceries, and how to fully enjoy the island. There are three restaurants and two gift boutiques on island. Kayaks, paddleboards, and watercraft are available for rent, and fishing expeditions can be arranged for full or half day adventures! A golf cart can also be rented for your time on the island through us, but is not included with the rental. The secluded island is not for everyone - only for those who desire a natural getaway with time to relax. Almost half of the island is dedicated to a state nature preserve. Nearly four miles of white sand beaches await you, without the hustle and bustle of many other vacation destinations. We hold a deep respect for natural beauty and wildlife of the island - this is truly one of the few places on the planet where the delicate balance between man and nature has withstood the test of time. We would love to share this unique place with you.

What a Beautiful Place!

We absolutely loved our stay at this home. We enjoyed coffee and a dolphin show every morning, a beautiful beach and so much privacy. The house was so pretty, clean and updated. We were very comfortable there and can't wait to go back!

Great family trip

This is the second time we have stayed here and we are looking forward to going back in the future. Home is perfect and location is wonderful right on the beach. Views and sea life are amazing. Island is fun too and our kids enjoyed it. This was a fun family trip and I would recommend people check out the Sandcastle itā€™s a great place.

Great location on Captiva Pass

Great location on the northeast point of the island on Captiva Pass. The main attractions/features to the house are the large deck and the dining//living area that face the water. The kitchen has all you need for cooking. Jane and Jeff are very nice people who are willing to help make your stay enjoyable and know the Island well.

Sandcastle North Captiva

The property is honestly even nicer than the pictures. We stayed ten days and mostly did not leave the house. There was lots of wildlife to watch, beautiful sunsets, peace and tranquility. Will miss the manatee, osprey, dolphin, and the multitude of bird and fish that could be seen from the large elevated porch.

Honeymoon in the Sandcastle

From the moment we booked the house for our stay, Michael was extremely communicative and informative with recommendations as first time visitors of North Captiva. He helped us navigate each mode of transportation as well as loading/unloading groceries in what ended up being the pouring rain. Not only was he very professional, he was very personable, assuring our stay was the best it could be. The house and the view were everything we couldā€™ve hoped for and more. We were able to enjoy our honeymoon in this up to date house overlooking the most beautiful, nature-filled waters with the shell-filled beach. Thank you!

Captivated, we will be back!

Just got home last night from a one week stay at the Sandcastle and without a doubt the most relaxing vacation Iā€™ve had in 40 years. When you remove cars from the equation, you remove a lot of stress. Everyoneā€™s tooling around on their golf cart or riding a bicycle or strolling down the sandy roads, greeting each other with a happy new year or good morning. Definitely a shared community experience! The beaches were amazing Especially towards the south end. I felt like I was Gilligan in Gilligans Island again, loved that show! Michael was the best and when I go back my first preference is the Sandcastle, the view off the deck and the water is so close you could almost jump off the deck into the water.Thanks again for everything Michael! Little piece of heaven...

We had randomly heard about the "sand castle" through a friend of the family and recently spent a weekend there in November. It was one of the best vacations we have in recollection. The house itself was beautiful with brand new appliances, huge tvs, and a very warm, chic feel to it. We were right on the beach which was completely deserted, and only had to look our front door to see a plethora of wildlife including osprey, crabs, porpoises, tarpon, and stingrays!! Also, the island itself is just delightful, with golf carts as the only means of transportation, and everyone being so friendly and welcoming, it's no wonder that people come to the island and never want to leave. The sand castle was a wonderful little get away complete with everything except the crowds. We highly recommend it, and cannot wait to come back!!!!

Falsely accused of damage

Be careful with this property! We have traveled to captiva island several times and never had an issue until we stayed at this property. the houseā€™s manager charged us 500 for not doing laundry of the used bed linens and beach towels (and never asked us to do laundry, they just charged us!), accused us of staining the king mattress (which my husband and I slept), and couch, accuse us of leaving the sink full of dishes and food (we only left 2 cups of coffee)ā€¦ The golf cart they gave us was the oldest in the island (I typically wouldnā€™t complain about this details but in addition to false accusations they didnā€™t provide what they have offered in the advertised pictures). It doesnā€™t include everything they show in the pictures.**IMPORTANT** if you have kids, be careful outside in the patio, there are many nails sticking out. My son got cut this foot. I would recommend looking for another house in this beautiful island. There are so many beautiful , renovated , for cheaper!

Wonderful Stay Post-Quarantine!

Wonderful experience. Great communication and help getting on and off the island. We wanted a place that was not crowded or high risk for COVID exposure, and this was perfect. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We brought minimum items for beach, because the house had it all. We were given great instructions for groceries and ferry to get on an off the island. Our groceries were delivered to the ferry and packed in coolers with dry ice to stay cool. We were picked up by Michael (the owner) and he helped us with all of our luggage and groceries to get settled in. We also had a golf cart to ride around the island. Highly recommended! We will be back. My only other suggestion is BRING MOSQUITO SPRAY! They were really bad, especially under the house, and away from the beach.

Location, Location, Location!!!

If you want to be on an island, with only golf carts allowed and a beautiful ocean outside your door with amazing views, this is the place! We took our 4 kids for a week long family vacation and we had an amazing time. Michael was amazing to work with. Connected us with airport and water taxi services and picked us up at the dock. Took a guided half-day fishing trip and got some great snapper and trout. Canā€™t wait to go back!

Wonderful property

We had an amazing time here! Michael and his wife met us at the dock and helped bring al our luggage back to the house. We had used the local grocery delivery service (north captiva groceries) recommended by Michael and everything was unpacked in the kitchen when we walked in. The house was perfect, amazing views, very comfortable, clean. Beautiful sunsets from the porch, private beach, manatees, dolphins etc. the kids had an amazing time. We rented a golf cart from Michael and we highly recommend that. The island was awesome to explore and we canā€™t wait to come back! The house is well equipped with beach chairs, beach toys for the kids, lounge chairs etc. this property will not disappoint!

Beautiful Beachfront

We loved our time at The Sandcastle. We had a beautiful private beachfront where we saw dolphins, stingrays, and swam with manatees daily. The home was well stocked as described. Wonderful first time at North Captiva!

The house is perfectly situated so you have the most majestic views of both the sunrise over the water and the sunset into the water! My kids loved every second and we are already hoping to go back again! Loved it!! Homeowners were great every step of the way! Made it as easy as possible!

Paradise!!

This was my family's first time to North Captiva and we fell in love instantly! The house is picture perfect and the island is stunning! It is very lush with palm trees and flowers everywhere!! Michael was an amazing host and answered all of our questions before and during our trip. He met us at the harbor upon arrival and even told us the history of the house and other aspects of the island. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! This house is the best on the island! The privacy was perfect! We would maybe see a few people walk by during the day. Other days, we wouldn't see a soul. The house is beautifully decorated and had all the essentials.We are a family of 4 adults and the house was spacious for us all! We saw dolphins and manatees daily from the deck! There are so many amazing birds as well! The house sits so close to the water, when looking out the windows, you felt as if you were in the water! If looking for a secluded, low key, relaxing vacation, this house fits the bill! We are already planning our next trip back to this house!

FOUR generations of our family have grown up in this tropical paradise.
