LOVE this place!

Bright, clean, and comfy! We loved this Bungalow on so many levels. (Yes, it is up a flight of stairs, a treehouse for certain!) The Banyan Tree is epic! This location was perfect for our daily beach visits and perfect sunrise views from the gorgeous, steps away, Kailua Beach! The Host made our visit here effortless and we would highly recommend staying here. We appreciated the relaxed local vibe experience, the nearby Thursday Farmers Market and the Saturday Outrigger Canoe Club races at Kailua Beach Park, and breakfast at the Over Easy, just to name a few. We look forward to our return to beautiful Kailua, Mahalo Vicki!

Treehouse in Paradise

My wife and I stayed in the Banyan Bungalow and we could not have been happier. The white cottage style decor was done so well and everything that we needed was there. With the floor to ceiling windows looking out at the banyan tree it truly felt like we were staying in a treehouse. Since it is on the 2nd floor we had total privacy. A short walk to the gorgeous beach.It was the most relaxing and distressing vacation we’ve ever had. Vicki made everything go so easy, she even helped with recommending a florist and she put the tropical flower bouquet in the room for me before we arrived to check in on Valentine’s Day to surprise my wife.

Perfect location!

My husband and I loved the this property. The location was perfect, steps from the beach and walking distance to downtown Kailua for all the shops and restaurants. Would stay again!

5-Day Stay at Original Bungalow

Beautifully furnished, maintained bungalow beneath magnificent 300-year old banyan tree. Had every necessary convenience in kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom, etc. A few steps away from the most beautiful beach. Vicki was an outstanding host, accommodating our every need.

Incredible treehouse in paradise

My husband and I stayed at the magical banyan treehouse for a week, and easily could have stayed longer. We loved everything about this unique apartment, and Vicki was such a gracious host, sending us multiple spot-on recommendations for local food and things to do, and responding quickly to messages. Waking up to the birdsong in the banyan tree each morning was nothing short of magical. The never crowded beach, on which you can walk for miles, was a short stroll (about 200 steps) down a sandy walkway just outside the bungalow’s private parking area. The bungalow itself was clean, bright, very tastefully decorated, and plenty spacious for us. We never stopped marveling at the breathtaking size and beauty of the banyan tree canopy above us. Kailua itself was very walkable from Vicki’s location with multiple great dining options. I will continue to dream of the restful week we spent there; what a gift! I sincerely hope we are able to return someday. Side note- I assume from listing photos the other units Vicki has here are equally as lovely. If you’re traveling with a group of a few couples, renting all three together would be a fanatic lodging option.10/10!!

Retirement get away

This is a unique property and is in an excellent location. The host was fantastic and offered a lot of information about the area, where to visit and where to eat. It was a great get away and good disconnect. The access to the beach is easy and it was not busy when we were there during the first week of October.

Amazing getaway treehouse

If you're thinking about booking this spot don't hesitate. It is the stuff romantic getaways are made of. Kailua, on the windward side of the island, is charming and far from the tourist crowds, good restaurants and easy close shopping. We were steps away from what often felt like our own private beach with turquoise waters, powdery soft sand and the sunrises were amazing. On the map this place is two or three houses back from the beach on the access path. Vicki, our host, was so lovely and made our stay incredibly pleasant and clearly loves the area. And the bungalow. I can't say enough. It's comfortable, beautifully decorated and nestled in the most amazing banyan tree. (Other reviews mentioned the large number of noisy birds but bring your ear plugs and aloha spirit! They in no way detracted from our stay.) Overall, a gem.

Tree house studio steps from the beach

The studio was as lovely as the photos and description. Vicky was very helpful, we learned new things about Kailua and we have stayed in the area many times. One main highlight for us was the location, practically on the beach! Not that you need much for a beach vacation but a couple shelves in the bathroom would be nice, as there is really no counter space. We would recommend to anyone looking for a very clean efficient studio!

Beautiful place, great, responsive host, close to beach

This little studio has everything we needed to sleep and relax well as well as make meals. Vickie, the host, goes out of her way to provide anything needed. The beach is easily reached. There is a huge banyan tree that makes it feel like living in a comfy tree house.

Location and proximity to beach, town and restaurants was fantastic. I did have to sleep with an eye mask and ear plugs - no blinds or curtains and there are a lot of birds that wake up early in the banyan tree!

Banyan Tree

Property was exactly as described. Cool place under the canopy of an incredible banyan tree. Location was amazing. A very short walk (200 ft) to a beautiful beach. Vicki did a fantastic job at providing us some of the local favorite dining places and shopping spots. Was so nice to eat local food rather than some big chain restaurant junk. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Very relaxing and would definitely return.

Fabulous Place!

The beach bungalow “treehouse” is truly spectacular! It is in a great location and provides the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing vacation! The beach is extremely close and we took advantage of the comfortable beach chairs provided! Look no further if you want to stay in Kailua! You won’t be disappointed.

Tree House in the Banyon Tree

Quite the find! The beautifully designed house, its proximity to the beach and to the restaurants and stores in Kailua town far exceeded the positive comments in the previous reviews. The welcome of the hostess, and the care that she took to make sure we were comfortable, and familiar with our surroundings was a great experience of aloha! The house had everything we needed: comfortable bed and linen, a well equiped kitchen, and a washer and dryer--plus private outdoor spaces that include a balcony and an outdoor shower. Add to this, the fact that Kailua beach is literally 110 steps from the house (yup we counted it) and we ended up with a stay which was a sweet taste of paradise. Looking forward to our next stay!

Great vacation stay!

This was an excellent find - clean, modern and perfect location. Soft sandy beach only 2 minute walk and Kailua is our favorite area of the island. The host is super nice and helpful. Hated to leave.

Lovely comfortable studio for a relaxing stay

The studio is a beautiful and comfortable space for a couple to spend a week. Vicki provided great tips on local dining options and the kitchenette was well appointed for breakfast and snack preparation. We loved the proximity to the beach and green market for morning coffee :) We appreciated the beach equipment to use during our stay. Thanks for a such a lovely space to relax in

Best vacation

Looks too good to be true but it was exactly as described. Host was very easy to work with, great communication. Easy beach access, check in process, and extremely comfortable living space. Would highly recommend.

Look no further!!!

If you’ve come across this property in your VRBO search, stop looking, and book this immediately! It is on the absolute best beach in Oahu and the place is absolutely perfect! Everything is just as pictured, the host is exceptional, downtown is within walking distance, fantastic restaurants, it’s absolutely perfect!!!! We fell in love with the banyan tree and setup of this place. We stayed for 10 days and loved every minute of it. It is extremely clean, has all of the essentials, I wouldn’t change a thing!

Perfect Location

My wife and I stayed for 10 days. Vicki was a gracious and easily accessible host. The location is perfect and it really is just steps away from an uncrowded part of Kailua Beach. The bungalow has every amenity we needed, including beach chairs, body surfing boards, towels and umbrellas. If it is not evident from the photos, an incredibly large and beautiful banyan tree overhangs the courtyard, attracting all kinds of birds. We hope to return one day!

Great accommodation, great location.

We had a great stay. The bungalow is comfortable, light and airy, well designed and equipped, and within easy walking distance - about 250 feet - of Kailua Beach, which is one of the best beaches around. Vicki, the owner, is very thoughtful and considerate. All together, it's a great place to stay.

Perfect Location and Very Clean

The bungalow is a great place to clear your mind and have a true vacation. The large Banyan Tree makes you feel as if you are in a tree house. The accommodations were the cleanest of any place that I have rented and to us that is extremely important. Vickie was a great hostess and extremely accommodating.

Under the Banyan Tree

Great clean small cottage under a huge banyan tree. Just a quick walk down a sandy path to the beach. Air conditioning was a bonus!!!
