Highlights

Freedom I is a single-family beachfront, pet friendly home located in desirable Morgantown. The amazing views, upgraded polywood deck furniture and private beach access boardwalk create the perfect outdoor space. Once inside, you'll find that the home is loaded with extras. A professional fridge/freezer, a 6-burner gas stove and upgraded Bosch dishwasher make cooking and clean up a delight. There is also a wet bar with wine fridge in the living room as well as a stand-alone icemaker on the lower level.

The Space

The main living area of Freedom I is open and inviting and you'll find the large sectional and comfortable chairs provide plenty of seating for you and your guests. A large dining table, counters and bar height tables and stools provide extra space for dining, game playing or just hanging out. Massive windows span the length of the home and you be enchanted by the views and the wildlife. Resident great blue herons and dolphins are frequent visitors! Love to fish? In just a few steps, you'll have your pole in the water and hopefully you'll catch something tasty for dinner.

A freestanding ice maker means no daily trips to the store for bags of ice! You'll also find a wet bar/beverage center with a build in wine cooler. Guests really appreciate the outdoor shower with both hot and cold water.

The main level boasts a master suite with a king size bed and private bath. Also on this level is a second king bedroom, a bunk room with a twin over full bunk and a full bath.

Head upstairs where you'll find the spacious living and luxury continue. Two extravagant king bedrooms ensure their occupants will feel pampered and relaxed. The kids will enjoy having their own space in the bunk room and access to their own hallway full bath.

Does your group include more than 18 guests? Consider booking both Freedom I and Freedom II (next door neighbor) for your reunion or company getaway!

Fort Morgan and Morgantown

Morgantown is a lovely, unique seaside community featuring two swimming pools, a kiddie pool, two lighted tennis/pickleball courts and several beach access boardwalks. When you first arrive, you'll notice pride of ownership in this pastel colored, beautifully landscape neighborhood. Guests really enjoy walking and biking along the quiet streets and many rent golf carts and enjoy sunset drives. If you have small children or just prefer the convenience of parking close to the beach, there is a public lot just to the west of Morgantown.

Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.

Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.

Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain, and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

Perfect for needing to go back and forth with the kids and dogs. Everyone could come and go as needed. The house was spread out perfectly so everyone had their own space. The kitchen utensils, pots and pans were more then you could ever need. The ice machine was a nice touch as well. Loved having a gate there on the walkway to keep the dogs in on the porch with us and would be perfect for little ones that walk as well. The beds were all super comfortable. The management Co was amazing to work with. Everything was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be back and would love to make our yearly vacay house as the kids have grands thru the years. You won't be disappointed.

The weather was perfect, the water was as clear as I have seen in this area, and the sand was white and clean. Freedom 1 is steps from the beach. You can sit on the back deck, and you feel you are on the beach. This subdivision is nice, and in an area that is not congested. And the house was open and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect beach getaway

Beautiful house that was large enough for everyone to have their own space but yet managed to feel cozy at the same time. Comfortable beds! This was one of the more well stocked kitchens that I have ever experienced at the beach so that was a plus especially since you are pretty far from the restaurants and are likely planning to cook more than you will be dining out. Loved the commercial coffee maker, huge fridge/freezer, and ice maker. The boardwalk to the beach has red and green ā€œnavigationā€ lights like on a boat which is a very nice touch! Makes it easy to find when coming back from a night walk on the beach! We stayed at freedom 2 last time we came and I have to say I might just like Freedom 1 more! Would definitely stay here again!

Loved that it had everything we needed to make great meals and there was a lot of beach chairs and sand toys so that was so much appreciated and used! Steps away from the beach so easy to get up and go back to the house for a snack or something you forgot! The beach was amazing our weather was not that great but we were still able to be on the beach. It was a great family vacation you won't be sorry . We will be back next year as the Costal Views staff is amazing their houses are amazing just an all-around positive experience you won't be sorry if you book with them and stay at Freedom I!

This house had everything we wanted. Great beach access. House was great and well stocked (not like most rentals). DeDe was our manager and personally came by just to check on us on day 1. Don't look anywhere else.

Perfect big beach house

We loved everything about Freedom 1. Kitchen is awesome; location is perfect with one of the prettiest beaches in the country. Highly recommend. Morgantown could use some upkeep- tennis net torn and one was completely down. But overall, very nice peaceful location.

Family rendezvous for Thanksgiving

Members of the family live in 3 states, so each year we plan a location that meet our best needs. This year we landed in Gulf Shores. The family loved how the house was right on the beach, 150 feet walk on the deck and your on beach and the gulf. Everyone had their own bedroom and bath. The beds were very comfortable came from a number of family members. The house had more cooking pots, pans, dishes, utensils, blender and other cooking items than you would ever need. The living room furniture could be updated. The two rocking chairs in front of the big windows we a favorite place to drink coffee in the morning and naps in the afternoon. The deck chairs were new, very nice and comfortable to take in the sun and views. The house was a lot 15 mins from the busy city, which was nice a quiet. Dee Dee was very responsive to our request and very helpful about the area. Weā€™ll visit again!

Great location/cleanliness could use some work

To start off, the location was fantastic. The house was just as described and we loved how close the beach was. The neighborhood was very quiet and seemed to be well maintained. The only issues we had was the cleanliness. Upon arrival I noticed several sticky places in the kitchen floor and one of the upstairs bathroom showers didnā€™t appear to have been cleaned (old soap still on the shelf). Under the living room furniture doesnā€™t appear to have been cleaned for months. In one of the kitchen drawers we came across a live cockroach crawling on utensils, a cockroach was killed crawling on one of the upstairs bedroom headboards, and my mom had her bag on top of the downstairs bedroom and found a cockroach crawling on it. I understand that pests like that can be a challenge but that was enough to gross me out. We just made sure to clean any kitchen supplies before using them and we didnā€™t spend much time inside, so overall we had a great trip! The property manager came over and introduced herself and was available if we needed anything.

Freedom 1

This is a lovely property right in the beach. We loved that it is dog friendly and that our small dog could go to the beach with us. The layout of the house fit our needs just right. We also loved the huge refrigerator/freezer. There was ample parking under the house as well. The few maintenance issues were handled quickly. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the Coastal employees were great!

Beautiful House Great Location

We loved the house. It's beautiful! And the location on the beach was perfect! My family had a wonderful vacation. My only complaint is, and I hate to give low-star ratings, the house's cleanliness. We stay at vacation rentals frequently. Maybe have your cleaning staff do a deep clean. We have small grandchildren, and a toy went under the couch, and oh my, that was gross. I may just be OCD about cleaning, but it does matter. Then, we saw at least four rather large roaches. Two in the kitchen, which really bothered me. I know it's the beach and climate they love, but maybe spray more often. You do not need to share this on your house-linked reviews because I would not want anyone to miss staying here because of it. We had a wonderful time. Maybe just address those things, and it's all good.

Chicago Family Trip

This house was PERFECT for our family stay in GS! It was clean, kitchen very well stocked, great location right on the beach with super easy access to Fort Morgan pools. Also great to be within a mile of Sassy Bass - in either direction from the house. Very convenient. Will recommend and book again for future trips. Thank you for an amazing week!

Love Love Love

Freedom 1 was perfect for our family! We had 16 people and one dog with us! Plenty of room and access to the beach canā€™t be any better!! The private boardwalk is literally steps away from the beach! We kept everything we needed in an ice chest at the end of the boardwalk so we didnā€™t have to lug heavy items ; just roll your beach wagon and ice chest down your walkway and you are set!! (SO wonderful for anyone with children and older folks!) The outside shower was a hit with our grandkids! If you havenā€™t taken a siesta in a hammock you need to do it! The only issue we had was that we had 2 days with some heavy rain and we had water literally pouring in the dining area. I called coastal view to let them know and they offered to have maintenance come right away but we took care of it ourselves. As a homeowner myself it is definitely something that needs to get fixed before it causes major damage to the house. The only other issue was that we couldnā€™t open the door to access the front patio. Both issues were reported and I was told that the homeowners were aware of both. Overall we thoroughly LOVED this house and would definitely recommend it and come back again! We were sad to leave!

Location, location, locationā€¦ canā€™t be beat. To just walk down from deck to sand was so nice. House was clean and is spacious for large groups. Common areas are large. Ice maker was great to have as was the Bunn coffee maker for a house of coffee drinkers. Pictures need to be updated some. There is no whirlpool bathtub. Kitchen was well supplied with dishes, cookware, small appliances and large stove. Dee Dee was amazing anytime we called her. Very prompt and if she could she tried to remedy all issues, some she couldnā€™t as it would require more detailed timely attention. A few drawbacks to be aware of: The stove did cause all the cookware to have black marks on the bottoms which was messy to clean. There is a pantry with the washer/dryer and we had a little visitor eat into our bread. The barn door in the first floor bathroom doesnt close unless you mess with it some. The door to the front patio would not open. We all tried but didnā€™t want to drag someone there to try for us. There were two bad but short storms which caused the front patio windows to leak. This required our attention to keep replacing towels to soak up the water until the storm ceased. There were 3 large palmetto type bugs that surfaced during the week. These items did not deter us from having a wonderful time but for the caliber of the home should be attended to. We shared all of this with Dee Dee who was going to address or have the issues addressed.

Everything was in good order. One minor issue was fixed immediately ( on a Sunday). Management team was outstanding. Short distance to beach via the private boardwalk was a definite plus! Ice maker was also a real convenience. This house has it all. You will not be disappointed.

Reviewer Comments: Our primary complaint is that rats got into our kitchen and living room areas during the night and ate into some of our food and chewed into one of our bags. The property manager sent someone over as soon as we called her and he set traps for us. We also had a few problems with the gas stove. It was very easy to accidentally turn on the burners, even if you just lean against them lightly. Not safe when small children are around. The griddle on the stove caught fire on our first night there. When we used the burners to cook, they left black soot all over the outside of all the pots and pans. Also, the AC on the main floor stopped working the first full day we were there. The AC repair man spent a total of 5 hours over 2 days repairing it. Those were the three biggest issues, but there were a few smaller issues as well. The bathroom door in the main bedroom on the main floor was a sliding barn door that would not stay closed. The locks to several doors on the upstairs floor did not work. It would have been nice to have more than 2 bathtubs in the house since we had several small children. The lighting on the main floor (kitchen and living room) was very difficult to figure out. We never did figure out how to turn some lights on. It would've been helpful to have labels on the light switches. That being said, the property manager DeeDee, was very nice and friendly and responded very quickly. She sent someone over each time we called. We also really liked having an ice machine in the house and the boardwalk and deck were great. The setup of the house was really nice and easily accommodated the amount of adults and children we had. The pictures on the website need to be updated as some pictures are not consistent with what the rooms look like in person (some rooms have been renovated since the photos were taken).

Beautiful House and wonderful location

The house was as beautiful as the pictures. The kitchen was very well stocked. Living area was very well laid out for family gatherings. We had our three children, their spouses, one dog and one precious grand daughter. Views of beach were wonderful. Walk to the pool was very short. I highly recommend this house and location.

Perfect for families

We loved staying at Freedom 1. The house is one of the best equipped we have stayed at. I also loved the layout of the house with 3 bedrooms on the main floor and 3 upstairs. Access to the beach was perfect and the walk to the tennis courts/pool area was easy. We hope to come back.

Perfect house for groups!

We loved this home. The space and rooms were nice and the furniture was nice. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely book this home again!
