🦌 THE DEER HAUS - A HOME BUILT WITH HISTORY

This home was originally designed and built in 1980 by two local brothers — one an artist, the other a builder — who brought their vision to life using reclaimed materials from around the area.

Throughout the home, you’ll find carefully preserved materials that tell the story of how it was built:

★ Living room beams and trusses were reclaimed from a local railroad bridge
★ Stained glass window in the living room came from a local church
★ Upstairs front door was repurposed from a local restaurant
★ Kitchen bar was built from leftover wood used in the ceiling beams

We fell in love with the home’s character and chose to preserve it — exposing the brick, beams, and wood ceilings — while adding modern touches.

For guests looking for something a little more adventurous, our property features a vintage 1948 Greyhound bus that has been thoughtfully converted into a cozy glamping-style guest space. It’s one of the most unique places you’ll ever stay and a guest favorite for those who love memorable travel experiences.
