Words cannot describe the 'peaceful easy feeling' this beachfront property offers. When you wake in the morning and look out towards the sea, it feels as if you are floating on the water, the house is so close to the sea. The magical garden is filled with hundreds of flowers providing a healing space to relax and revive. The villa is located near the beach town of Lovina. The area is rural and quaint, a place where you can still experience the 'real Bali' away from the crowded tourist traps in the South. The staff who attend to the villa are wonderful local Balinese who will share their life with you and provide any service you require from home cooked meals daily, tours directly from the house, daily massages, shopping trips etc... Or, they can leave you in total privacy if that is preferred. The house has spectacular artwork, high speed wireless internet, cable TV, and an extensive DVD library. If you want to revive and regenerate in a place that feels like "a loving home"... this is the place for you ! Don't miss this paradise!

Wonderful, just wonderful

The magical healing retreat is more beautiful and peaceful than pictures can capture - this is a home filled with art and love, and a wonderful place to escape. We stayed 3 weeks, and could’ve stayed longer! The lovely indoor-outdoor spaces offered multiple options to be together and to find time alone - it was hard to find a favorite spot as the garden is gorgeous, the pool is perfect, the rice house is special, and the lily pond was different each days as white and pink water lilies blossomed overnight. The kitchen is well stocked so cooking is simple, and Kadek was there to cook and buy groceries as needed. Jody answered queries quickly, connected us to drivers from the airport and around Lovina, and staff at the villa were super helpful and kind. Coco and Gusdee were amazing and friendly helpers for the outside spaces, and we all felt very pampered in this amazing place.

Was für ein wunderschönes Haus. Wir haben auf unseren vielen Reisen selten eine Unterkunft gemietet, die mit soviel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet war. Auch rund um das Haus war jeden Tag etwas Neues zu entdecken. Wir lebten drei Wochen in einer Blase der Glückseligkeit. Kadek kümmert sich liebevoll um ihre Gäste. Sie kocht wunderbar, organisiert Restaurantbesuche, Ausflüge und hat immer ein offenes Ohr. Coco und Guy de pflegen täglich den Garten und reinigen den kleinen Pool. Für Ruhesuchende ist das Haus perfekt. Wir hoffen auf ein Wiedersehen

Our favorite stay in Bali!

The property was immaculate and beautiful beyond words. We were all simply blown away. The staff were extremely helpful. Our chef Kadek helped us organize our trip and find an excellent driver. She planned a massage for us and helped us with grocery shopping as well. The beds were very comfortable. We loved this location so much we wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much!

Like an art museum on the sea.

This place is fantastic in every way. Right on the sand, extraordinary art work scattered around the home and property, lovely garden, flowers everywhere, helpful staff. Just an over the top positive experience. The pictures do not do the villa justice. Loved everything. We will be back!

Petit paradis

La villa est cachée au coeur d'un jardin luxuriant, posée sur une plage (très calme) de sable volcanique. Les espaces sont grands et bien aménagés, décorés avec gout. Quand on a passé du temps à Kupu Kupu, on ne veut plus repartir ! Kadek veille au bonheur de chacun, adultes comme enfants. Koko et Gushti sont également aux petits soins. La sympathique propriétaire, Jody, sait répondre à toutes les questions avant le voyage. Merveilleux !

Great place on the quieter side of Bali

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house matched the pictures and was right on the ocean. The staff especially Kadek were wonderful. The food Kadek made was exceptional and she took great care of us. The recommendations of what to see by the manager (sorry can’t remember his name) we’re fantastic. We did have ants in the guest bathroom but otherwise it was almost a perfect stay. Highly recommend

Simply amazing!

My wife and I stayed at the villa for two weeks. It was more amazing than we had anticipated. The pictures on VRBO are spectacular, but they still don’t capture the total beauty and the charm of the Villa! We were absolutely blown away by the overall landscaping, the interior decor, the many calming statues and figures around the property, the sound of the waves lapping on the shore just a few feet away… The owner was fantastic, making sure we had everything we needed, and going above and beyond our expectations. The housekeeper was wonderful, and the garden helpers kept the property looking fantastic. The driver who picked us up at the airport couldn’t have been more careful, and was so willing to help us with everything we needed. Whether we had been out for dinner or a short overnight trip, the first words we said when coming back to the villa were: “It’s great to be back home!” It truly felt that way to us. We couldn’t recommend this haven strongly enough!

Great Stay

The house is just great. Pictures don’t do it justice. Owner, Jody, was very communicative and helpful. Kadek, the housekeeper, cook, friend, was wonderful. She’s very friendly, kind and kept the house spotless. The two yard guys were great as well. Could not ask for a better Bali vacation.

Ein Traum!

Wir haben im August 2022 als Familie mit zwei Teenagern eine wundervolle Woche in der Villa Kupu Kupu verbracht. Die Villa & der Strand sind schöner, als wir es von den Bildern im Inserat her erwartet hatten. Wir hatten einen echten „Wow-Effekt“, als wir die Villa das erste mal sahen. Kadek und ihr Team sind bezaubernd. Kadek hat sehr lecker für uns gekocht und das trotz meiner vielen Allergien. Sie könnte ein Restaurant aufmachen, so lecker wie sie kochen kann! Darüber hinaus hat Kadek tolle Ausflüge und Massagen für uns gebucht. Wir waren Schnorcheln, haben Delphine beim Sonnenaufgang gesehen, verschiedene Tempel besichtigt und in heißen Quellen gebadet. Der Garten um die Villa ist wunderschön. Die Luft hat geduftet vor lauter Blüten. Alles in und um die Villa ist mit viele Liebe gemacht - bis ins kleinste Detail - und sehr gepflegt. Das Team ist super eingespielt und sie erledigen ihre Aufgaben viel Herz. Wir hoffen, dass wir in Zukunft nochmals die Gelegenheit haben werden, in der Villa Kupu Kupu Urlaub zu machen! Es war ein Traumurlaub! Danke Jody, Kadek & Team!!!

Little bit of Bali paradise….

Great villa near Lovina with amazing sunset and sunrise vistas and superb garden environment. We stayed in 2 villas in Bali, one in Ubud and one here….this was by far the best. Lovely homely villa perfect for a family. The gardens are gorgeous and well maintained and then immediately beyond this is a quiet beach. Kadek was a great house keeper who helped us with everything we needed….we will look forward to (hopefully) staying here again someday…..

Absolute serenity in North Bali!

Welcomed by Coco and Kadek we felt at home the minute we entered the front door! The decor whilst eclectic was just divine...we loved all the lighting and lamps! Bed was so comfy and the aircon in bedroom welcomed. Everything we needed was there..including blue tooth speakers! Right on the beach front we could hear the waves crashing nightly...bliss! The added bushes at back fence make for a private pool (which the other properties along the beach seemed to lack)..but we still had sea views from the verandah. Our 2 night stay here was the highlight of our 8 day Bali holiday. We were told by regular Bali visitors and I had also read on the internet by some people that it was a 9 hour drive to Lovina...Don't listen! Its 3.5 -4 hours lovely interesting drive from Kuta..then there are temples and other places of interest when up that way. Kadek cooked dinner for us and left for us to reheat on one night (yum yum!) ...and cooked brekky for us next morning (For a small fee)...we will miss her happy smiley face! These little extras made our stay so much more rewarding. I can't recommend this property highly enough...simply a stunning, comfy (and spotlessly clean) abode. Thank you Jody for allowing us to share your beautiful slice of Bali...and thank you Kadek and Coco for your service and making us so welcome. We will definitely return and next time spend more time relaxing here!

From the moment you walk in, you feel the love. My family enjoyed the home and staff so much we literally never left the house! Exactly as advertised, even better

The house and grounds look just as they do in the pictures, but have the wonderful addition of the sound of breaking waves just feet away. The decoration is upbeat and reflects the vibrant colours of the garden. A market is just 10 minutes away on a scooter. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, and ready to help with any question. The owner, while not on site, was also continuously ready to assist and was very friendly. I highly recommend this property and am already planning a trip back.

Hidden gem in a quit location

Me and my wife had a great 10 days in this beautifull villa, which is situated right at the beach. The villa is beautifull decorated with a good eye for details. Wide opening slidingdoors on every side of the villa which create a very open feeling with the garden, the many sitting areas and the swimming pool with jacuzzi. For us it was a dream come true (it was better than in the pictures). The staff was great, nothing was to much for them to make our stay comfortable. Tranquility away from the crowds

We arrived to a warm welcome from all the staff to this lovely home set among lush landscaping and ocean views. It was late in the afternoon from Ubud so it was a very nice surprise that dinner was already prepared for us. The rooms are large and the air conditioning works extremely well...and the units are quiet. Breakfast was prepared every morning for us. Kadek offered to pick up whatever we needed from the grocery store and there is a also small "store" just a few steps away on Jalan Tulip road where you can buy the basics....including Bintang. The home is very clean and the staff comes daily to clean, but are not intrusive. Kadek arranged for a driver to take us to a waterfall one day and we used Bemos for the rest of our stay. The lush tropical landscaping and multiple lounging areas made us feel like we had our very own slice of paradise for our 4 days in northern Bali.

Perfectly peaceful

I couldn't be happier. The villa was everything I was hoping for and more. It is a beautiful place right on the oceans edge, very private and yet close enough to town that ordering food or going to a restaurant was easy. Kadek was marvellous, she took care of any requests and made sure we were looked after fully. I fully expect that I will be back. If you want to get away this is the place!

Villa Kupu Kupu - tranquility

Beautiful, fully equipped villa with lovely grounds, nice private pool and access to a clean black sand beach through the back gate. A short Bemo ride to town and shopping. Occasional noise from nearby sea-do rental business, but overall very peaceful. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, went to college in Portland, Oregon, lived in Japan for many years and now reside in Los Angeles California. I travel about 8 months of the year on business, and my favorite place on earth is my villa in Lovina.

I have been a lover of the beach my entire life. I travel constantly for work, mostly throughout Asia, and have found a wonderful place to come and unwind, in a peaceful and nurturing environment right on the beach, with exquisite gardens. I chose this location because it is not overly touristic, the local people are wonderful and the views are absolutely breathtaking. It is a wonderful place to relax and heal the spirit. While some areas around Lovina may have more rocky beaches, we have soft sand and we have a staff who clean the beach twice daily, with love and a passion for eco-beauty.

This villa is truly a unique blend of absolute direct beachfront beauty and an amazingly quaint and extensive garden. It is colorful and has a wonderful energy. The staff who attend to your every needs are very special, kind and make each guest feel like this is their home. It is a truly unique experience staying at this villa. We have 2 bikes for your usage and an SUP paddle board. If you are a lover art and the power of nature, this is the place for you.
