We've got the perfect family cottage retreat for you! 100 foot private sandy beach, crystal clear water that's shallow a long way out, dock, plenty of yard space for playing & relaxing, comfortable, spacious 4 bedroom, 2 renovated bath cottage with windows galore, offering gorgeous views of the 6th Most Beautiful Lake in the World.

Your cares will begin to melt away the moment you turn down our secluded & wooded 600 foot driveway. By the time you reach the cottage & see lovely Higgins Lake, you'll be in full relaxation mode.

Gaze at the lake through picture/bay windows in the great room, or gaze at the woods through picture windows in the sunny, full, eat-in kitchen. We offer beds for 8, and a queen-size air mattress for the floor, for 2 more. Each updated bathroom has its own window & subway tile shower, new countertop, additional storage, & cool flooring. Cookware, tableware & glassware for a crowd, as well as paper products to get you started are provided.

The four separate bedrooms include a queen bed primary, queen bed lakeside, two twin beds lakeside, and a pair of single-size bunk beds, and sleep 8. Each bedroom has two windows for enjoying refreshing breezes and falling asleep to the lapping of the waves along the shore, a chest of drawers, and closet. A blow up queen-size air mattress is available for the floor, to sleep 2 more.

Wi-Fi internet throughout and firestick-ready TV in the great room. Outside, enjoy two cement patios, a fire pit, a gas & a charcoal grill, picnic table, even a basketball hoop, & those all-important comfy outdoor chairs for just chillin' by the lake.

We're happy to provide $100 discount for repeat bookings.

Peaceful summer week

The lake is wonderful. Our accommodations were comfortable, clean and the view from the family room is beautiful. The week always goes to fast. All of us were sad it ended, but we’ll be back next year!

Have stayed at this property before and won’t be the last. The south side of the lake during the summer is usually calm when the wind comes from the south. Many mornings and evenings the water was like glass. The cottage is great with a nice grass lawn between the house and the lake.

Wonderful stay, location and owners

We have stayed at this property multiple time. The owners are really great to work with, super friendly and helpful. The location is great...right on the beach, close to Nibbles, Polar, The Cut (before the car crashed into it). Secluded from the road down a very long driveway.....we will definitely be back!!!

Nice family getaway

Very nice waterfront property! Layout was good for family. Very nice view of the water from great room. It was very hot and humid during our visit so we missed ac but made the best of it with fans.

Perfect location!

Property is right on Higgins lake! Our weather was a little cooler but the location was very close to multiple golf courses and there was lots of room in the yard to play games like cornhole! The cabin was very clean and had a nice large living room making it the perfect hangout spot to watch some football! Overall had a great stay and would definitely recommend to family and friends :)

Great getaway

Very nice up north cabin, very clean and quiet. This place had so much to offer including games, outdoors/indoors, fishing, boats, endless shell searching, basketball and more. Our family had a wonderful time on the lake relaxing in the water during the day and by the bonfire at night. The hosts were amazing and easy to get a hold of.

Mid July Higgins Lake

The location of the property is outstanding - right in front of a beautiful clear beach/lake. We really enjoyed all the extras that the property owners left for us - kayaks, a rowboat, games, floats.

Perfect cottage for an Up North escape

We couldn’t be happier with our stay here! We knew Higgins was an awesome lake, but we were so pleased with our cottage. Plenty of space for our entire family/friends group to hang out on the few rainy afternoons and the sandy beach/shallow waters were perfect for our 6 and 8 year olds to play safely!

Cabin in the woods

This home is spacious and away from traffic and noise. There's a wooded area next to the house but not too close. You feel like you're in a rural area. The beautiful lake is the first thing you see each morning. You wade through shallow water, that is crystal clear, few stones and no weeds or grass to walk through as you make your way to deeper water for swimming. Nobody got swimmer's itch. We enjoyed it very much and look forward to returning.

Hidden Gem

This was our second year and it was as enjoyable as the previous year. This is the best location on the lake with the sandy beach, a large shallow area of the lake and absolutely no rocks under foot. Great location for day trips to Mackinaw Island, the dunes & Traverse City or the UP. Provided lasting memories. Beautiful sun rises. Will definitely return again.

Unwind

Our group comprised 3 middle aged couples. We found the Flynn cottage to be very comfortable. No stairs. There's plenty of room to spread out. There were plenty of towles, sheets, dishes, and pots and pans. There was even some staple items provided. We loved the ample parking. The house has a neighbor on one side and woods on the other. The long driveway is away from traffic noise. It was very quiet and peaceful. Our group really needed this and appreciated it so much! We are looking forward to going back next summer.

Great Spot on Higgins Lake

Wonderful, private, lake home right on the lake. Really really nice beach area with no rocks! Just sandy beach. VERY NICE!! Lots of sand for kids to play with. The fire pit was great. We roasted marshmallows every night we were there. Large place. They have a shed that has water toys. There are two canoes and a paddle boat you can use also. Overall a great place and I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a great place on Higgins Lake.

Higgins Lake Paradise

Very impressive nostalgic northern Michigan cottage with knotty pine interior, original A-Frame construction, stone fireplace, and unobstructed view of the lake. Excellent location with sandy beach, crystal clear water and absolutely no rocks under foot in the water.

Great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family stay at Flynn Cottage. The property met our needs marvelously, and the stretch of private beach occupied the 3- and 5-year old grandsons for hours and hours! Higgins Lake is one of our family’s happy places. We were so pleased with our stay in this home!

Great property on the water!

Our family and kids' friends had a great stay in this house on the water! Lake was right on the back door and water was clear and sandy. Lots of outdoor seating and a fire ring. Includes canoes, row boat, rafts, and games. We were able to keep our boat at their mooring. Great time overall!

Perfect vacation

This was an absolutely perfect vacation. The cottage is rustic, but so what! The views, the owners, the family room space, the lake......ALL PERFECT. The owners were so wonderful to work with. We loved it! Thank you for making a very memorable summer!

Can’t wait to return!!

The Flynn family was very communicative, hospitable and accommodating. The property was clean, inviting and made for a great week long stay. The backyard and beach was great FR our family - aged 4-65!! We enjoyed days on the beachfront and in the water and evenings around the fire pit! Plenty of water toys to be had in the shed and the family was super sweet to ask if we needed anything at all. The bunk room is perfect for kids. It fit our 4 year old twins on the bottom and 6 year old on top. Can’t wait to come back next summer. Thanks Flynn family!
