Mountain side house off of the Sunday River Road

The custom details are amazing in this chalet off the Sunday River access road!. Offering 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms this log chalet is as spacious as it is charming. The main floor offers an open concept living, kitchen, dining area with cathedral ceilings. You will enjoy sweeping mountain views through the floor to ceiling windows and a toasty fire at the push of a button. Both bedrooms on the main floor offer king beds and they both have TVs. Master suite on the upper level with a king bed and HDTV offers privacy and plenty of space. The lower level offers direct entry from the driveway with custom shelves and ski storage. There are sure to be some serious battles in the game room. Try your skills at foosball or air hockey and a classic arcade game system! If you would rather just relax you can sit back and watch game on the 60" HDTV. The lower level also has two bunk rooms and a full bath, great for kids and adults with full beds on the bottom and twins on top! Don't forget the large outdoor hot tub for a soak and fire pit to enjoy in the summer gazing at the stars. The damage waiver fee of $150.00 is a non-refundable payment- which covers accidental damage up to the amount of $1500.00. This fee is processed in the overall costs of the rental at the time of booking. Remember we are in the mountains of Maine and the snow we hope for all year can make travel more difficult. We recommend all or 4 wheel drive in the winter season. The roads and driveway are professionally maintained but guests may find travel difficult without it.

If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival: Youā€™ll receive a refund of your deposit, minus a $50 processing fee.
If you cancel within 30 days of arrival: Youā€™ll be refunded for any portion of your stay that is rebooked by another guest.

Warm and Cozy House

Christmas Cabin

It was a great stay and next year we hope to make it a longer getaway. Communication with the property manager before and during our stay was easy and always with quick responses. They knew this was a getaway for our family for Christmas and it was wonderful to drive into two lit Christmas trees set up. So close and convenient to Sunday River for the snow bunnies in our group.The rental was stocked for all of our needs and was so cozy.

Great house in a great area!

Me and a few of my buddies went way for the weekend and were fortunate enough to stay here. The house was just as described and in a fantastic location! Everything was clean, orderly, and they had everything you needed to cook, hangout, etc. The locals were all great and the breweries around the area were fun! I'm looking forward to coming back to the area and hopefully this house in the very near future!

New Years Eve Ski Trip

We traveled with three families over New Years. Plenty of space. Kitchen was well stocked, and hot tub was nice. Very close to Sunday River. I would recommend.Sunday River area is a little bit of a food desert. All produce was sold out from the local grocers. If you really want something in particular, you should probably bring it.The Igloo at Sunday River was really fun to have a drink at. Sunday River Brew Company close to the house was a good spot to visit.

Turkey Day Weekend in Maine Mountains

Had a 3 generation gathering for Thanksgiving weekend. Kitchen and Dining areas worked great for our large meals. Beds and Linens were comfortable. Bathroom cleanliness was top notch. Snowed 6ā€-8ā€ and driveway cleanup was lacking in timeliness and thoroughness. Expected better in an area very used to dealing with snow. Several other minor issues, but Overall, we had a great weekend!

Amazing!!!

We had a phenomenal stay!!! Best rental house ever. We had 3 families (12 people) with kids ranging from ages 14-21. Plenty of room. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fire place. House was immaculate. Kitchen was well equipped. Loved having laundry room available!!! Very comfortable. Lots of great places to explore nearby! Highly recommend the Sunday River Brewing Company also! Beautiful, quiet area.

Ski Weekend Done Right

This property was excellent for hosting a large group (16 people). Essentially it had plenty of space for everyone and the bunk bed situation was the reason we could all fit. 2 rooms were private with kind beds. The third room with a king bed had 1 bunk bed in it which was unfortunate vs it being a private room. Very close to Sunday River Mountain made it an easy morning for swinging over and enjoying a day on the slopes .his is a modern property and comes with most features a group would need.

Underwhelming and key features broken

The lodge was much smaller than the pictures portrayed. The living room sat 4 adults comfortably - not big enough for more than 2 families. The beds were not all made upon entry- Sheets and comforters were folded at the end of the beds. The fireplace did not work, the hot tub shut off and tripped regularly at the GCFI breaker. The cable did not work when entering the house. We were told that the satellite was buried in snow by the person who plowed the driveway. It was clear that no one checked to see this property was functional before guests arrived. I had to shovel the satellite. The beds were by far the lowest quality I have slept in- hard and lumpy and pillows were flat like sand sacks. The sheets were thin like stiff hospital sheets. No extra cozy blankets provided. The heat did not work properly- it was hot in the bedrooms but cold in the living space. For 3750 for three nights this house should have been well appointed and cozy. It was far from that. The towels were small, stained and thin. There was only salt and pepper for cooking- no kitchen seasonings or oils. It is clear that this is not lived in and care for. When the hot tub turn off the rental manager could not tell us when the filters had last been cleaned (I have owned hot tubs for years). Yet they charge 350 for cleaning and maintenance of the hot tub and house but canā€™t tell you that it has been done. They do not refund your 150 dollars for damage deposit. I would not rent using this company!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Location was great, we loved our time there. We were disappointed in the the cleanliness of this upon arrival. It seemed as if the staff might have been very rushed. The dishwasher definitely needs an upgrade. We spent an hour cleaning this along with the filter which looks like was never cleaned. we had to re-wash cutlery and dish towels. A vacuum on site would have been nice. The garbage from the previous guests was still in the garbage box. The deck had not been shovelled off so there was no access to the deck. frying pans are in poor condition we did bring our own as this is expected in rentals. Seems like I am complaining but not , just stating how things were. Easy to get to , roads were cleared, good communication from the rental service. only minutes from the hill. We only had 10 people in the house and this did not feel crowded at all. Beds all seemed good. a New fridge had just been installed which worked well, water and a ice maker. Overall a nice place to stay. I have booked with Four Season Rentals for a number of years and have never had an issue with them.

Multiple families skiing at Sunday River

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The layout of this house, proximity to Sunday River, and the set-up in the basement were excellent. Our kids loved the arcade games and comfy couch for watching TV and we loved that the carpeting downstairs buffered the sound between the two levels. The mudroom setups (both upstairs and downstairs) were exceptionally good for storing ski gear. The kitchen is a little small for multiple people preparing food but we made it work. We ran into one issue with the refrigerator where it couldn't maintain the proper temperature (going up to 57 degrees even after being left closed all day while we were skiing) and we had to throw away an entire weekend's worth of perishable food and two members of our party had food poisoning. The management company and owner were alerted and understandably the fridge wasn't able to be serviced over the holiday weekend, but it was disappointing that a basic, critical amenity wasn't functional and resulted in multiple expenses and headaches for our group without any acknowledgement beyond an apology. The set-up of the house was probably the best we've seen and we would consider renting again although with slight apprehension after the fridge issue.

Ehverything went well, one negative please give the Locke summit road address in the listing, it made it difficult to navigate on google, especially for guests coming at night, it is 0.7 miles to the left, not .2 miles

Perfect location in Sunday River

This property comes as advertised. Short drive to the mountain and lots of options for food nearby. Beautiful views from the deck and plenty of space / bedrooms to accommodate larger groups. House and hot tub were very clean and well stocked. Game room downstairs was great too. The only trouble we had was finding this location. The address in the VRBO app was shown as 95 River road, but the checkin instructions had a different address in Locke Summit. Little confusion trying to find the place at night but was able to figure it out without contacting the property manager.

Sunday River Ski Week

Our three familyā€™s of brothers/sisters and cousins loved our week away. Great proximity to the slopes for easy drop off and pick up for for our family sherpa. Great bedroom assortment, plenty of rooms and bed options. The two living rooms one off the kitchen and game room in the basement allowed us to spread out. Kitchen area was small but we maneuvered around those cooking and puzzling at the table. We loved the location and the hot tub too! Thanks for having us as guests!

Amazing stay!

Very clean, well stocked, cozy, and has all the amenities one could need! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, game room, fire place, and overall comfortable feel of this gorgeous place. 5 minute drive to South Ridge and in a very quiet neighborhood with beautiful views! Overall excellent experience

The house looks exactly as pictured. There was enough beds for everyone in our party and the kitchen was well equipped. The games and the game room were a thoughtful touch to the house which worked out perfectly for the kids. The downstairs did not have an air conditioner and the fans we brought were not enough to keep it cool. The ice maker is broken but they did provide a couple small ice trays. Some of the chairs around the outdoor fire pit were cracked pretty badly but there were enough good ones to accommodate. The cover to the hot tub was broken and a little difficult to get on and off easily.
