Beautiful Property

Overall, the property was a decent fit for my family. Not worth the over 6,000.00 I paid for the week. In a decrepit neighborhood! The pool was the shining star of the whole place. The property is in need of some TLC. There are several areas in different rooms that had leaks constantly dripping which we had to keep applying paper towels to, These leaks seem to have been going on for some time as there is damage to the floor tiles.We were getting dripped on continuously in several different places. We bought several rolls of paper towels because of these leaks. Definitely not going back to this property.

Amazing House

My family had an amazing vacation in Vieques! Villa Altamira was absolutely beautiful and even better than the photos. The house was very clean and well stocked with plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, kitchen supplies etc. The beds were very comfortable with very nice linens and bathrobes in every room. The outdoor space was absolutely incredible and the perfect private oasis to relax. The pool and view was beyond expectations. The sunsets and views by the pool or outdoor fire pit can't be beat. It's an absolutely stunning and private space to relax and the views will take your breath away! The owners, Annette and Dennis were very responsive, accommodating and helpful during the booking process and Melyssa, the caretaker was extremely helpful throughout our stay. She had great recommendations for activities, restaurants and even was able to get us ferry tickets when we were unable to purchase them. This is an absolute gem of a property and we would love to return. Thank you for an amazing family vacation!

Perfect Stay in Paradise

This home was the perfect place for our week stay in Vieques! It was beautiful inside and out. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking our own meals. The location was convenient. Dennis was very helpful throughout, and Melyssa was available to answer questions during our stay. We are looking forward to returning.

Exactly as described!

We had an amazing week in Vieques and Altamira, and the property manager Melyssa was a big reason. We had inconvenient arrival and departure times, and Melyssa was great about doing her best to accommodate. The house is beautiful and exactly as described. The teens walked to town most nights for an ice cream and my husband and I would sit on the pool terrace with a cocktail and watch the sunsets. We were a group of 6 - 4 older teens and 2 adults and the house worked great for us. Everyone found their space to retreat to, but the common spaces worked great when we all wanted to watch a movie or eat dinner. Lastly, the beaches in Vieques were beyond compare. They were so beautiful and deserted. We went to a different one each day, and they all were incredible. But, a 4 wheel drive is required for almost all. A great vacation at a great house. Can’t wait to go back!

School vacation get away

We stayed at the property with friends and family. This is a rare case where the house was actually better than advertised. The views are outstanding. We have been to Vieques 6 times and we this property is a stand out. Would definitely come back.

Amazing view! Beautiful home and awesome pool!!

Great house! Everything you’ll need and so much more. Great rooms, beds, pool and style. And the top floor master suite? Amazing!! Property manager Melyssa was fantastic and always available. And the friendly and curious neighborhood roosters, chickens, cats and wild horses make your stay here truly special and, well, we just loved it!!

Villa Altamira Vieques

Mine was a three and a half week stay and my fifth at Villa Altamira. Melyssa and Hector are the caretakers and they are wonderful, helpful, friendly. The house, the pool, the view and the Isabel community and town are superb not to mention friendly people, cats, horses, chickens and dogs. Great restaurants and beaches nearby. Vieques is my favorite vacation spot. Thank you !

Amazing views, outdoor space, comfortable vacation spot!

We had 2 adults and 3 teenagers on our trip and we all loved every minute of our stay at this property. The house was well equipped with coolers, beach chairs, towels and everything we needed in the kitchen to make some simple meals. The decks and pool area were amazing and we watched every sunrise and sunset from one of the comfortable outdoor spaces. Meylissa was extremely responsive and a great resource for help with transportation and any other question we had. The roads around the property are a little tricky if it's your first time to the island, but easy to navigate with 4 wheel drive (which you will want to get to green beach anyway :)) We would love to stay in this property again. Thanks for opening your beautiful home to our family.

The entire family thoroughly enjoined our stay at this property on Vieques. Great views, close to town, close to ferry, support was fantastic while there. Looking forward to a return trip. Highly recommend.

Great, private, neighborhood house

Villa Altamira worked perfectly for our group: two couples and a 13-year-old skater boy. The house is well situated in the neighborhood hills of Bravos de Boston, close enough to town to watch the ferries come and go but far enough away to be quiet. The villa lives well. In our case, the couples took the main- and second-floor bedrooms and the teenager found sanctuary in the lower level with its own entrance. That room was a bit dark, but it was fine with the French doors opened. The kitchen was well-equipped and the living room was comfortable. But we spent most of our time at the house gathered around the table on the porch or hanging out at the pool. The porch offers panoramic views to the north and west, so it's a great place to just relax and take in the view. The same is true of the pool area, which is outfitted with comfy lounges and Adirondack chairs. This was our fifth trip to Vieques, and this was among the nicest homes we've rented. Melyssa, the caretaker, was attentive to our needs, and Dennis and Annette communicated well both before and after our stay. We'd happily stay here again!

Beautiful views

We were happy with the home and very thankful for the AC units in the bedrooms. Although finding the house was a little difficult. Perhaps a picture of what the home looks like from the road. Since the listing picture is the back of the house. I enjoyed morning coffee from the hammock and watching th ferry go across and back. We enjoyed the pool, and the outdoor dinner table. Having beach things and coolers was extremely helpful.

Great pool and amazing sunsets!

Melissa is amazing to interact with and this rustic Vieques house doesn't disappoint with its charm and great views. We loved our time. Thank you Melissa for helping us coordinate finding a custom birthday cake a few weeks before our visit. It was beautiful and delicious!!

Perfect place for two families

Villa Altamira was a wonderful place for our two families to spend a week or so on Vieques (four adults and four kids total). The pool was a big hit. The bedrooms were comfortable. The location felt private yet was an easy walk to town. Melyssa, the property manager was SO helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely come back to this house!

Beautiful view

Property manager was fantastic! Quick response to questions & providing recommendations on restaurants, things to do, beaches, etc. Loved the house and pool! The only thing I would have liked better was if some of the shrubbery was cut lower because the overgrowth blocked views especially at the pool & main floor balcony.

Great spaces, wonderful view

The house had plenty of space and the view from the top balcony was absolutely stunning. The kitchen items could use some TLC along with some of the bedding, but things were clean. We enjoyed the house.

We loved Villa Altimara! Our family of 5 had a great time on the island and got exactly what we went there for. We wanted to unplug, unwind and relax... We did just that. Thanks for a offering such a wonderful place for rent!

Excellent location and extremely private.

Location was great to walk to down and minutes from ferry. The pictures were deceiving. The place is great but needs some TLC and kitchen could be cleaner. Grill was missing a grease pan and grease was spilling on the deck and I did not find the washing machine. They should leave a manual for guest. If you want a no frills get away with privacy THIS IS THE PLACE.
