The guest’s concerns stemmed from being unable to accommodate extremely early check-in and late checkout requests during a back-to-back reservation, as doing so would have compromised our ability to properly prepare the home for the next arriving guest. We explained this transparently and, despite the constraints, offered a complimentary one-hour extension as a courtesy. The feedback appears to be influenced by frustration over these limitations rather than the overall quality of the stay. Our standard check-in (4:00 p.m.) and check-out (10:00 a.m.) times are clearly stated. This reservation was part of a back-to-back turnover, and the requested noon check-in and 2 p.m. check-out would have required additional housekeeping support at an added cost. We explained this in advance and offered a one-hour courtesy extension at no charge, which we are happy to do whenever scheduling allows. The $75 fee referenced in our house rules applies only when a late checkout has not been pre-approved and our housekeeping team arrives while the home is still occupied. The $350 amount is a standard security deposit hold, not an incidental charge, and is released after checkout if the home is left in good condition. All Vrbo guests are also required to complete a rental agreement, as disclosed in the listing. We strive to be flexible when possible while ensuring every guest receives a properly prepared home.
