3 Br Cottage right on beach - Beautiful view of beach/water - Pets welcome!

This is a cottage in the private beach community in the Primehook National Wildlife Refuge which has over 8,000 acres of untouched beauty. The community is 5 miles off Route 1 and is small and relaxed!

You can swim and fish right in front of the house; you can be on the beach at anytime (sleep on it if you like) and may have a bonfire in the evening if it's not too windy! As mentioned previously, we have a new patio where you can grill, eat and view the beach as well as enjoy the late afternoon breeze.

The cottage has three bedrooms but can accommodate additional sleepers via couch, sofa bed (full mattress), and air mattress (queen).

15 minutes to Milton for grocery and shopping center; 15 minutes to Lewes; 25 minutes to Rehoboth and Dewey beaches if you want shopping (outlets and small, unique stores), movies, restaurants, jet ski, bike rentals, etc.

The house and location were excellent and host was very accommodating. You do need to bring your own linens for the whole house which isn’t in the description . The washer/dryer is extremely loud and takes a long time and indoor shower is hard to get a “normal” temp. Outdoor shower worked great.

Great July 4th experience

Our family of 5 and our dog stayed at the cottage the week of July 4th and had an amazing time. The beach is a natural beach so the sand isn't as clean, however we found that meant a lot more shells to collect! We have stayed in DE at various rentals and this was one of our favorites. The kitchen was well stocked and we didn't have to worry about having seasonings or the right cookware because it was all there for us. The location is amazing and we really enjoyed being able to run back and forth from the beach without having to drag all the kids and all the beach stuff with us each time. There was a really cute local 4th of July parade, and lots of people gathered on the beach for fireworks and socializing. A great place for families, we found ourselves interacting with a lot of other families who were also staying in the area, which gave it a friendly, small town feel. Even with the holiday it was never crowded and it was like having your own private beach right outside. We had great communication with the host who was super friendly and responsive. 10 out of 10 I would highly recommended!!

Healing Getaway

My wife and I cannot say enough about this simple beach bungalow in the peaceful Primehook Beach community. The sound of the waves and the breeze through the window at night; the long row of windows like a nature preserve bird display at an aviary but in real-life with the Delaware Bay in the background; a private beach right over your own sand dune pathway 25 feet from the end of the cottage; and easy weekend at the beach vibe with games, welcoming spaces, and a nice kitchen. We had planned a lot of things to do like an evening boat cruise and a ferry trip to Cape May fr the day, but the place and the little trips to Milton and Lewes always felt like the best option. Sandy was very easy to deal with and was gracious wit her time when we were booking and I was perseverating about details. We would most certainly come back, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing, quiet time close enough to restaurants and beaches but also in the country on a nature preserve.

Favorite home away from home

We’ve stayed at the cottage multiple times and love it every year! It’s a perfect spot for our family of four, including two kiddos. Sandy is a fantastic host and the property has everything you need for a relaxing week away.

Great location and house!

We absolutely loved this property! It was right on the bay and great for swimming and the surrounding area by the nature reserve was also beautiful for walks. The area is very animal friendly so lots of dog folk around. As for the house it had plenty of room and the layout was great! The sunroom was your own private nature viewing - birds and bunnies and sand crabs right out the window! Fantastic appliances in the kitchen if you like to cook. We drove to Lewes and Bethany once or twice but for the most part enjoyed the neighborhood and the bay. Restaurants and the grocery store are only about a 15 min drive. Sandy was also very responsive and helpful. I would recommend this as a great vacation spot for anybody who wants to get away but doesn't want the hustle and crowds of a boardwalk or busy town.

Cute little house

Cute little house was perfect for us. Had an issue with the wifi and Sandy was very fast at taking care of it. Quiet little neighborhood. It was nice to have a private beach. Only complains that I would say is the dryer and the one neighbor was very rude to us.

Paradise!!!

Our stay was absolutely perfect in every way. The beach house is so pretty and clean. If you love to cook, the kitchen has EVERYTHING you’ll need. The beach is your backyard and we made fires on the beach every night. Everyone we talked to was super friendly! We already booked for next year and can’t wait to go back.

awesome, quiet location

Just got back from an amazing week at Sandy's cottage - it was great! The home was just as advertised and very clean. The new kitchen is great and having laundry right in the home was very convenient! The big TV was great when we all needed some downtime, and the location was very quiet. We enjoyed the beach out front, as well as easy excursions to Lewes, Cape Henlopen and Rehobeth. Highly recommend!

Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed our stay! The cottage is well kept and cozy with great upgrades and a lovely new kitchen. Beach access is incredibly convenient. The patio area is perfect for outside meals and the rockers on the porch are a great place to unwind. Definitely dog friendly! Also, the host communicated clearly and responded immediately when we encountered a minor issue with an appliance.Overall a terrific place!

Beautiful cottage

Wonderful cottage on the Bay where all my stress went out with the waves! The area is beautiful and the house had everything we could have needed and many surprising extras. My husband dog and I had a wonderful week with even a few nights visit with my daughter and granddaughter who too enjoyed a few night get away. Small Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was exactly as listed and very clean. We loved being right on the beach which was wonderful for our two small children. Our kids loved all the wildlife on the beach and the ocean was calm and perfect for toddlers. We can’t wait to come back!

Enjoyed this lovely cottage.

The house is several decades old, but has been cared for and beautifully renovated. Kitchen is outstanding . . beautiful finishes, high-end appliances, and open to living/dining areas. Bath also nicely renovated. Great colors, nice art, original pine floors.

My husband grew up in Milton, DE, which is the next town over. We love Prime Hook because it is a small, private beach community, 5 miles off Route 1 (main road).

Primehook beach is quiet and the people are friendly. It is away from hustle and bustle but you can drive to get anything you want in about 10-20 minutes.

We enjoy the privacy and quiet. In addition to being right on the beach, we have a porch and a patio where you can sit/eat and enjoy the quiet.
