Beautiful 2 Bedroom Cabin on Taylor River with Private Hot Tub

Three Rivers Resort is ideally situated in the heart of Almont, CO, just 20 minutes south of Crested Butte and 10 minutes north of Gunnison.
ā€œCarey Specialā€ (Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.)
Cabins 17-21 are all the same style of cabin. These are the most popular cabins at the resort, sitting on the banks of the Taylor River. An open deck overlooks the river and includes a private hot tub. Plenty of parking is available here.
ā€¢ Approximately 576 square feet.
ā€¢ Each bedroom has a queen size bed.
ā€¢ Sink/vanity in each bedroom.
ā€¢ Supplies included: paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, trash bags, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryer
ā€¢ Not included: Anything edible (including coffee, condiments, spices), laundry detergent
ā€¢ Plenty of parking here for 2 vehicles and toy trailers
ā€¢ All Three Rivers Resort guests have access to private fishing on the Taylor River bordering the resort property.
**For VRBO guests, please refer to your reservation confirmation sent to your email after booking for check-in and unit details. We operate like a hotel with a front desk.**
All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional $20/night/dog, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time. Nightly rate is based on 4 people. Maximum occupancy is 4. Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May ā€“ September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time. For exact rates, enter your trip dates in the availability search.

Beautiful Cabin by the River

The cabin was in the perfect location to visit Gunnison and Crested Butte. It being on the river was a huge plus for me.

The perfect cabin

Overall the place was better than what I was anticipating. Kitchen, rooms, view, hot tub. All of it was clean, organized and a great price for what you get.

Beautiful location on the river

Very clean, beautiful views, family had a great time fishing on the river. My only suggestion would be upgrade tv for streaming services.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view and location is great however that is the extent of it. Upon checking in we were given a packet of rules and amenities. We noticed we were responsible for washing our dishes yet were never given a sponge or other necessities to do the dishes. We noticed that the river guides are also the housekeepers and lets just say these cabins are not clean. I stopped using the dishes once I realized they have neve been properly washed. Also the packet stated if we needed things like salt, pepper and basic condiments to go the office as they were on the house. We were charges $8 for a "bottle" of ketchup and given salt and pepper packets. The biggest issue was trying to recover a medical device that got left behind. Called multiple times and had a friend in the area willing to go by, the first attendant said the cabin had not been touched since we check out. I told them exactly where the items was and how is slipped out of its case, however they would not respond afterwards nor would they let my friend go grab it from the location. This medical device was over $700 and they would barely take my name and number down. All in all beautiful views but terrible dirty and the people who work here don't care.

This is an event we have every 5 years and all 50+ of us make every effort to attend. Having a location with easy access yet plenty of on-sight activities is key, plus having fun nearby things to see, do and explore, and a central gathering area are equally important, and this place was absolutely perfect! This is our 10th reunion (yes, 45 years' worth) and perhaps our favorite spot. It had everything. Cabins were roomy and clean. River sound was perfect and calming. And the general area is really lovely. We will most likely return to this location; I just don't think I can wait 5 years!

Free bus rides to Crested Butte (town and mountain) was a great bonus as not all of us were skiing/snowboarding, but it was a simple way of getting back and forth. Everything we needed for a relaxing 4 day weekend. Staff was helpful, and the location was beautiful. Highly recommend if you want a quiet experience and you want to do your own cooking rather than experience the long waits of trying to eat in town. If you need anything special for cooking, bring it with you, but all the basics are provided.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really did enjoy this little cabin. But the number one thing a person hopes for when renting a place is a good nights sleep. That was a complete fail on our cabin 18. The mattreses were like prison cots. So bad that at 4am I emailed the front office just to speak my mind while it was at peak frustration. We also had no heat in our living room. They resort does have a sign to call if thats an issue, but when you turn the heat up and wake in the middle of the night to no heat, not a great time for them to do a matainance call. This place has been here for a really long time. Very few upgrades have ever been made. Which I don't want to say this place is old, or gross. It's nice. Not 5* but its a solid 3.5*. So it seems more than reasonable the ownership sould upgrade the bedding and I would suggest the carpet as well. Hadley (front desk rep), she was really nice as well.

Of course we were a little disappointed in the fact that there was no Kokonee fish to be caught, but that's no reflection on your part. I hope to be back again next fall but I do think we would like too come up to the resort a week earlier. The accommodations and the cabins per se were very clean accept there were some little mouse poo-poo in one of our towels. But it really did not effect our feelings about the stay. I will be in touch with the resort for next year's stay by January. And again a big thank you to all of the staff.
