Imagine watching the sun rising over the Gulf while you sip coffee from the deck or with your toes in the sand just a few steps away. If you're looking for a quiet place to get away from the busy of everyday life, just an hour south of Tallahassee, the Snail's Pace is waiting for you. You're likely to see more animals than people - sea turtles, bald eagles, osprey, dolphins, deer and maybe even a bear! In 2022 we gave our Gulf front property a complete & total makeover, everything is NEW and waiting for you to enjoy.

Bald Point State Park is just moments away with bike/walking lanes to get you there the entire way. The 4000-acre park has a beach, fishing pier and kayaking, as well as nature trails if you like to explore.

Alligator Point is a secluded piece of paradise, which is why residents love it here and visitors lucky enough to find it keep coming back. The Tiki Bar is the only restaurant on The Point which means having a fully equipped space to be your home away from home is so important! With owners who love to cook, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need to prepare your meals as low key or gourmet as you want. A gas grill is also provided.

The decor is GORGEOUS and beachy. Everything from the art, to the dishes, to the linens will give you that Coastal vibe.

The Point is also known for GREAT fishing year-round. You can check with FWC to see what's "in season" during your stay. Parking is available for a boat and trailer at the house, or charter boats are available at the Marina.

You can sleep 6 comfortably. 2 bedrooms have Queen beds with ensuite bathrooms, and the 3rd bedroom has 2 twin. The 3rd bedroom also has a small desk area and TV making it a great space to tuck away little ones. 2 of the 3 bedrooms also have Gulf views.

The NEW deck upstairs has high Adirondack chairs to see the Gulf without any obstructions, and a bar with stools for everyone to have a space. Under the house is a beautiful screened in porch with plenty of seating to enjoy being outside without being bothered by any no-see-ums (don't know what those are? you will!). There's also Adirondack chairs downstairs on a floating deck.

You don't have to worry about packing linens, towels, beach towels or beach chairs leaving you more room to bring what you actually need. Wifi is available throughout and you can login to all of your streaming services on the Smart TVs.

Once the sun starts to set, you'll find many locals at the Tiki Bar at the Marina. Its a great place to grab cold drinks, catch live entertainment and grab something to eat.

If you're looking for a day trip, one of the world's largest & deepest freshwater springs is just 40 minutes away at Wakulla Springs. Surrounded by ancient cypress swamps, its a fun excursion to swim in crystal clear year-round 70 degree water, or take a river boat tour and get up close with alligators, manatees, birds & turtles. "The Creature From the Black Lagoon" was filmed here! Its definitely a must visit.

The house was everything you need to have a peaceful, fulfilling, restorative stay. The ocean is only a 45 second walk away beautiful trees surround the property. We enjoyed watching the sunrise every morning from the beach next to the house and watching the sunset every evening over the bay and through the pine trees, while mullet jumped and plovers peeped and dolphins gracefully swam at Bald Point. A wonderful place to rest and return to yourself and find peace.

Wonderful fully stocked kitchen and living spaces, everything we needed was there. Very beach cottage vibe to decorations. Nice variety of options for enjoying the beach atmosphere - upper deck, lower deck and screened lanai under the house. This was a perfect vacation place for relaxing when not enjoying the attractions and restaurants in the nearby areas. We found ourselves awake every morning to enjoy the sunrise.

Excellent property, exactly as advertised, in a beautiful, rustic location. Excellent beach view and nice beach. Just understand, this is not a groomed beach in a resort location--you are in a neighborhood 15 minutes away from everything. This simple but lovely property, in excellent shape, was just what the doctor ordered to do nothing. The host was a great communicator and immediately responded to our queries. I highly recommend this property.

The house was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Everything was clean and we especially enjoyed the screened in area under the house. The sunrise views were very accurate and one of my wife's favorite things. We even got to see a rocket taking off from Cape Canaveral. The beach toys and other supplies were a plus when our grandkids stopped by to visit. We are already planning our next visit. Thanks Kevin!

The Snails Pace was exactly as described-very peaceful and relaxing beach vacation with the family. The property had all the comforts of home, including extras that most properties donā€™t have (beach towels, beach chairs), very nice kitchen supplies! The mimosas on the deck were excellent!

Snail Pace for the Best Place

This was our familyā€™s third consecutive year at Snail Pace, and weā€™re never disappointed. You can always tell Kevin and Barbara know the importance of providing a clean, inviting environment for guests. Even though the temps were hot, the view was beautiful and the town is so quaint. No crowds, just calm breezes with relaxing waves. Kevin checked in just to make sure we were good and all of we needed anything. I also love the extra touch of oj and champagne for mimosas!

Kevin & Barbara both grew up in KY. In 2013 we were looking for a vacation home in a quiet, non touristy area. We stumbled upon Alligator Point by accident and never left! Its been our piece of paradise ever since.
