Stay at the Little Red Cottage and enjoy Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos.

Sit on the porch and look at Lake Wallenpaupack. You can take a short drive down the road to Lake Wallenpaupack and access several activities like boating, fishing, golfing, kayaking, hiking, skiing, or great dining at Overboards & more!

Relax outside on the cottage’s large private deck, or lounge inside in the cozy sunroom. This is a perfect spot if you’re attending one of the many weddings held down the road at Silver Birches! The Little Red Cottage has Wi-Fi, Roku TV, air-conditioning, heat, full-size appliances, utensils, pans, coffee maker & more! Strictly no pets, no smoking.

Take drive to the Palmyra Township Public Beach. The public beach is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. It’s a short 11 minute drive from the cottage (7.9 miles).

The Cottage
Enjoy the lovely cottage with access to Wi-Fi and Roku TV. Many guests also enjoy relaxing in the cozy sunroom as the sun sets. There is a covered front porch that faces the lake and behind the cottage is a private deck with a table and six chairs so you can sit outside and enjoy nature. The Little Red Cottage also has an Outdoor Fire Pit with 4 chairs. Sit outside and have a camp fire. Remember to keep the flame inside the fire pit.
*Each stay you are allowed one bag of garbage that can be left outside in the garbage can.
How to access the property
You will have access to the entire cottage, though you will not have access to the locked attic and one locked cabinet for storage purposes. There are also two sheds on the property that you will not have access to, these areas are used for storage purposes.

If you are bringing your own kayaks, the closest public put-in to Lake Wallenpaupack is at Ledgedale Recreational Area. You can take 507 towards Wallenpaupack Brewery to rent Stand up Paddle Boarding (a.k.a. SUP) or Kayaks at Silver Birches! (Make sure to call or visit their website to check on their hours/days and fees).
Other things to note
Brand new AC/heat system! Stay cool in the summers and warm in the winters!
If using the outdoor fire-pit, flames must be kept low and under the fire-pit's metal cover.

Guest traveling in the winter months should be aware that the snow fall in the Poconos can get heavy at times. In the event that it snows during your visit, there is a shovel for you to remove the snow to and from around your vehicle. There is a hired snow removal company that may show up to plow the driveway (there is no set time for their arrival due to severity of storm and scheduling). However, if you are occupying the cottage, you will have to move your car so the driveway can be cleared when they arrive. In the event that it snows on your departure day, it is important, and your responsibility, to abide by the checkout time of 10 am. Although in some instances we offer a late check out at no additional charge, snow days are an exception. (NO late check out can be facilitated) If you are concerned about arriving in a snow storm, we will be happy to alter your stay for later non holiday dates. A suggestion for staying during a snow storm, removing the snow around your vehicle should be attended to frequently. When snow arrives during your stay, it is breathtaking at the cottage. However, it can also be an unsatisfying experience. In these cases, we must be patient and do our best to get through it. Please keep in this in mind when booking and in the event it happens during winter months there are no refunds due to weather related circumstances.
