Each bedroom with queen beds has its own attached bathroom for privacy and comfort. Additional sleeping space includes a loft with a pullout sofa and a comfortable foam mattress perfect for kids. **Lake Lure is scheduled to reopen for full operations on May 25, 2026 with the return of boating, swimming and fishing. Be sure to reserve your spot before dates are taken. We look forward to your visit and your continued support to the local community.**

Great place & location!

We spent a family weekend here and it was a great experience! We enjoyed the fire pit both nights. I was in the downstairs room with my husband and 2 young kids. The distance and privacy of this room from the rest of the house made bedtime much less chaotic since we didn’t have to tiptoe around once they were down!

Great Lake Lure getaway

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

This house was absolutely perfect for our recent vacation. It was clean, spacious, comfortable and decorated beautifully. The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed for the meals we cooked. The location inside Rumbling Bald was quiet and private but with many great amenities close by. We enjoyed playing pickleball, sitting out on the beach, and taking a pontoon boat ride. We also took day trips to nearby Chimney Rock and Asheville. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for girls cabin getaway

This adorable lake house has everything you need for a fun girls weekend! Each room has its own bathroom and privacy. The lake house has access to lots of fun activities at the rumbling bald resort. We did some kayaking and hiking. We would love to come back in the summer to do some swimming at the beach! The house is located close to the adorable lake lure shops and chimney rock state park. We did a lot of leaf peeping and hiking. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect home!

Everything at the home was perfect! We had no wants or needs that were not met. We were there for a family funeral so on the worst of terms. We even asked the homeowner if we could have some family over for dinner together and they were happy to oblige and sent their condolences. It was so nice to feel the warmth of love in this home. We will definitely be back and on a happier terms! Already planning next year's family vacation here!

Itching

the house was fine, the yard not so much. Evidently a known chigger problem is at this site. It took us 48 hours to get somebody to come out and spray for them. The location managers were less than helpful. The finally sprayed the night before we left. Not helpful at all.

It’s a really great spot inside the gates of Rumbling Bald; however, the first night we got ate up by spiders, or something, in the beds, and the basement bedroom is creepy. There are noises coming from a code entry door by the bed, and, I guess, rust drip stains from a different door in the bathroom area. Not sure what’s behind it, didn’t want to know. It does seem like it doesn’t get cleaned under and around furniture in the house. But, it does have the necessary items in the kitchen, and after we washed the sheets and comforters, I don’t think we got many more bug bites. We did also have a black bear on the back porch come visit and knock on the door. But, overall, it provided a great place to enjoy Rumbling Bald.

Peaceful Mountain House

Four of us stayed here because we were playing in 2 golf tournaments in Rumbling Bald. The scenery is beautiful. The home was very clean. The decks were so nice to sit out on in the evenings and early mornings. Everything worked fine and the fire pit was terrific to have each night. The kitchen was very well stocked. We certainly appreciated the Vacasa General Manager ensuring that we had extra bedding for the person who slept on the couch. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience a week before our stay with the local person who was supposed to be the property manager - so we dealt with the Vacasa General Manager of the entire area of Western NC and SC. Sue R. was fantastic - she really understood our frustration and fixed all of the miscommunications and non-communications quickly. We are all very appreciative that she stepped in and helped us. The house was serene and worked well for the 4 of us. Only issue was lack of water pressure, but that's probably common in that area. Overall, a wonderful house - we would stay there again.

I loved the cabin

The cabin was very nice the only thing that happened was the upstairs tub did not drain correctly. It was no big deal we just used the shower down stairs. You would not know that was an issue unless you were told so no problem. We enjoyed our stay and will return when in the area. Thank you

Great mountain getaway with lots of activities!

We shared the house with another couple and our 10 month old. The house itself was well maintained, clean, and comfortable! Plus, the included amenities provided endless actives on-site. Be prepared for lots of twists and turns as you drive up the mountain, but honestly as someone who loves mountain driving that was one of my favorite parts.

Lake Lure 2022

House was nice and the area was beautiful.. Well equipped kitchen and well stocked for our stay. The only complaints that we have are first the pet fees are a little extreme and well hidden in the listing. The second concern was the lighting in the kitchen area. Because the house is back in the mountain there was very little natural light and the kitchen was very dark. Overall nice location and above all we enjoyed time with our family.

Mountain/ lake cabin

We had a great experience at the Carolina Cardinal House. It had the feeling of being secluded in the woods yet the lake and resort amenities were just a few minutes away. It was the best of both worlds for our family.

Great combo of mountains and lake time

House was as described in listing, clean. And well -cared for. No concerns - master bed is a bit uncomfortable but not a big deal and downstairs is musty but I think this is unavoidable. Well-stocked kitchen. It is on a beautiful street but is up in the mountains- about 5-7 minutes to get to the Rumbling Bald resort area. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood (not very many houses so mostly just beautiful woods) but it is very hilly. Amenities at Rumbling Bald were great and easy to access. It takes about 20 minutes to get to downtown Lake Lure. It was a fair amount of driving but all very beautiful.

Peaceful

Looking for a crash pad with some extras over the long weekend and found it. The place was setup well to just bring in food, etc and be ready to cook and get some downtime. Some issues with the cleaning quality, dog toy and bone under the couch, lots of dog hair under furniture and fans needed a really good cleaning. Otherwise good. Super peaceful near end of the road and likely wouldnt stay here again as the outdoor space just wasnt comfortable and that was disappointing but also I get it if you arent there so the furniture choices have to be sparse and metal.
