Peaceful mountain and lake retreat with resort amenities

Mountains +lake, makes this the perfect getaway for all seasons!
We look forward to sharing it with you! If you’re looking for a new spot to work from home, fishing trip, golf trip, wedding, or looking to build some family memories, you will love this place!

Our home is located just 4 min from the lake tucked away in the forest!
We have 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a detached garage we call the “Dan” cave (because it’s the only part I had a say in decorating) with ping pong, foosball, pool table, wii and PlayStation3 with some adirondack chairs around the fire pit!

Our home will comfortably sleep 8, and boasts an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings.
The sunrise is amazing on the large wrap-around deck. Imagine yourself curled up on the dark, leather sectional with a good read by the gas fireplace OR envision a heated game night with your family (so many board games to share!) And that’s just at the house!
The Rumbling Bald resort has so many amenities- you won’t want to leave! There are two restaurants, a new starbucks coffee shop, 2 golf courses, wellness center and spa with hair and nail salon, fitness room, heated indoor pool and jacuzzi opened year round, mini golf, an outdoor pool/lazy river(open seasonally), basketball courts, volleyball courts, boat rental, kayak/canoe rental, stand up paddle board rental, beach area, playground, tennis courts, hiking trails, fishing and more.

We are about 45-60 minutes to Asheville and Hendersonville, and just 25 to Chimney Rock state park. The area has many great hiking or biking trails and is full of natural beauty. Also just a ten minute drive to some amazing funnel cake (opened seasonally), and other great local spots.

Our stay was wonderful! Lisa was so good at communicating everything from the start. The home was clean and welcoming. They thought of everything. We brought hand soap, toilet paper, and lots of other toiletries that we didn't even need, or at least as much as we thought we needed. We cooked in the kitchen almost every night, and had what we needed. We were pleased there were so many dishes and utensils to use. It rained a lot during our stay, but we still found plenty to do, and the house was great to just stay and relax. The pools were both great! Staff at the resort were friendly. Our teenage girls said this was one of their favorite vacations.

Fantastic Anniversary Trip

We visited the property to celebrate our 29th anniversary and we’re not disappointed! The property was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The owner was very communicative throughout and was focused on creating a great experience for their guests. We would highly recommend this home and will definitely be back in the future!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful day at this house. Lisa was fantastic to work with and everything was as described. My young boys loved this house and begged for us to come back again when leaving. Rumbling bald is a very special place.

Loved the gameroom. Didn't get the video games going but enjoyed the other games. Boardgame choices was off the hook! Daughter enjoyed small room by laundry.

Perfect Vacation for the grownups and the littles!

We loved our stay at Rumbling Bald. The house was perfect for our whole family. Everyone enjoyed the "Dan Cave" and eating dinner on the deck - while trying to spot bears of course. The house was so clean, well furnished and supplied. You really have thought of everything- even tupperware for leftovers! Our two year old grandson can personally recommend the ice cream at the beach and the gemstone mining in Chimney Rock. :) There was plenty to keep us busy at the resort and it was not overly crowded- which was a huge plus for us. Asheville was a nice hour drive away with some fun shopping for our college age daughter. Thank you so much for having us! We will definitely be back!

Great Location!

We loved our stay at this house and Lisa was great communicating with us. My 7yr old caught his first trout at the small lake and we enjoyed hanging out in the garage at night. Lake Lure is in a great location as it's about an hour or two to Ashville, Greenville, and Linville.

Memorial Weekend ‘23

Our family loved our short stay at your beautiful home. We especially enjoyed the game room and the fire pit! The amenities at Rumbling Bald Resort are amazing. We were fortunate to rent a pontoon boat to tour the lake. Thank you Lisa for being a great host!

Great Stay

We enjoyed our time at Lake Lure! The house was a perfect getaway for our vacation. Lisa and Dan communicated well and were very accommodating! We appreciated the adult welcome “treat” upon arrival!! We enjoyed many beautiful hikes with waterfalls and great views. Triple falls and upper falls was a nice hike. Very well maintained but quite busy (had to wait for parking). Chimney Rock was pretty but EXTREMELY busy!! Our favorite was Crabtree Falls! We also visited Mount Mitchel at the same time (highest point east of the Mississippi). At Crabtree, we had a total of 5 or so groups which allowed for a much more peaceful hike. We also enjoyed zip lining, our kids fishing in the small lake, swimming at the pool, and playing pool in the Dan Cave!! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this for anyone looking to get outside and enjoy nature! Thanks!!

AMAZING!!

Everything about this getaway was amazing! The house is very spacious and very CLEAN! The beds were so comfortable …. we fell in love with this property! The house is surrounded by so much beautiful nature … nestled in a pocket of trees! Everything we needed for our stay …the Host thought of! And the Mancave was the icing on the cake! We spent most of our time there with the fire pit going just outside! We loved the pool table, ping pong , and all the games we played on the Wii . But most of all… the communication and kindness from Lisa, our Host. She was quick to address any issues or questions that arose. We will definitely be back!

Great stay in Lake Lure!

Our family of 5 stayed in Lisa & Dan’s lovely home for a week over the 4th of July holiday. This was our first time to Rumbling Bald & Lake Lure and it was a great experience! The house was spotless and very well stocked with anything you might need for your stay. Our kids loved playing ping pong and pool in the lower garage, and our 2 younger kids were thrilled to find a couple of their favorite books stocked in the bunk room. We really enjoyed how even though there are other homes around, it feels very secluded. My husband ended up having to work a bit while we were there and had no problem with Teams calls. The resort area was nicely maintained, employees were friendly and helpful, and everything was very clean. Lisa and Dan were fantastic hosts! It’s clear that they are invested in creating a great experience for their guests. At one point during our stay, I told my husband it felt like we were staying at a friend’s home and not a vacation rental. Thanks for a great vacation! We will be back for sure!

Great experience!

We did it all! Swimming, tennis, putt putt, gem mining, hiking. We need a vacation from our vacation lol. Loved the house and the kids enjoyed the double bunk beds. The host was lovely to deal with and we will be back in the future :-)

A must stay!

We had such a great time on this trip. The property was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was plenty to entertain our little group of preteens. The host was very easy to communicate with and offered all kinds of tips and recommendations for things to do and places to eat. If you are looking for a great place to stay, I highly recommend.

Wonderful property, wonderful host, wonderful stay!

What a wonderful way to ring in the new year! We stayed with our family of 4 (parents and 2 teens). The kitchen, fireplace, soaking tub, Dan’s cave we’re all favorites. Lisa was an incredible gracious, welcoming, and helpful host- she went above and beyond. I highly recommend!

Amazing House, Host and Location!

This topped the list for our favorite place ever and we travel A LOT! The kids didn’t even want to leave to go to Great Wolf Lodge so that’s saying a lot. Beautiful home, super comfy beds for everyone. Great layout, with LOTS of things to keep all ages occupied and happy! The playroom downstairs was great for the kids to curl up and read or play games and the “man cave” was a huge hit! Everything we needed for cooking was there which made it super comfortable and the host even set out water bottles for all the kids which we used when we went hiking! Plenty of room for our family of 8 (2 adults, 6 kids) and so much to do even in the winter! One of the few places we have been that we would definitely come back too ❤️

Great Long Weekend Getaway in the Mountains

The property was very clean and cozy for our weekend in the mountains. It was definitely remote, but we didn't have plans to do much, so it worked out great. It was close to Chimney Rock State Park, which we explored one day, and the cabin had all the supplies we needed during our stay. The beds were very comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay.

Only the Best!

Lisa and Dan's warm, inviting, and spacious home had all that these two couples needed, and great "vibes" as a bonus. We enjoyed using the gas fireplace and deck, and the guys explored the bonus playroom. Lisa's helpfulness and attentiveness went beyond what is necessary, extending to letting us know what was going on locally during our stay. She or Dan were always accessible if needed. Special touches, including a bottle of wine, made us feel even more welcome. Rumbling Bald's location is lovely, in a beautiful part of NC, and the weather was great, making it even more beautiful. It was a great place to visit with family after a two year separation. In between sightseeing, the mini golf, corn hole, and gym were used, and the lovely grounds for walking. We enjoyed the pontoon boat tour, which was even accessible by wheelchair. We hoped to rent a kayak there on the lake, and go horseback riding nearby, but a prior foot injury of one of our group changed those plans. We were 20 minutes to a large grocery store and less than 10 to a small neighborhood store. This worked well for us, as we ate most meals in, and the well equipped kitchen and floor plan made the kitchen easy to work in. We enjoyed the gas BBQ. We ate at the wonderful antique dining table that could tell us some tales from it's long history; where we also enjoyed playing games. We enjoyed outdoor lunch and music at Lured Market on the weekend, as well as an Arts and Crafts Festival, where I bought several small paintings done by Greg Miller, who lives in Rumbling Bald. We visited the Tryon International Equestrian Center and watched jumping, Carl Sandburg's home in Flat Rock, with it's gorgeous grounds and walking trails, saw Billy Graham's home in beautiful Montreat, had great coffee at Dynamite Roasters in Black Mt. (they even have a large, categorized collection of vinyl records and a record player). We visited the Flowering Bridge, and Chimney Rock...an elevator even allowed a visit to near the top with a wheelchair, and there are also lovely walking trails on the grounds. We had a great Birthday lunch at Haus Heidelburg German restaurant (highly recommended) in Hendersonville, even gluten free options. In 2 weeks we still didn't have time to go to Asheville, to visit the Botanical Gardens and Bonsai....oh, well, guess that means we will have to come back to Lisa and Dan's place a few more times :) Maybe next to see the Rhododendrons in the Spring. Wonderful stay in Rumbling Bald!

What a great experience we had staying at Lisa’s place! Can’t tell you how much we appreciated her thoughtfulness and generosity! She gave us many pointers, recommendations, and even left us special gifts (for the kids too!). The bunk beds were a very big hit as were all the amenities/activities at the resort. The house felt like a tree house nestled amongst the large canopy trees and it was very clean and comfortable. Looking forward to returning next summer!!! Thank you Lisa!

Love love love this place!!! Definite stay for two families! The kids enjoyed themselves but we had even more fun! The hostess definitely have the “mostest”! Home away from home

What an amazing little gem, with all we needed to feel at home while away and still feel vacation mode with all the games and amenities. Kids were able to plug away from electronics and enjoy game room, game nights and full days packed with pool, beach, trails, putt putt and pickleball - there was so much fun and the house is so charming and has everything! Will come back!
