Sea Ledge S - Enjoy beautiful sunsets from this charming Bailey Isl cottage

Perched overlooking Merriconeag Sound rests this charming, beautifully furnished 2BR, 1BA Bailey Island cottage. Perfectly located in the West Shore neighborhood, you'll love being within walking distance of all the islands have to offer including Cook's Lobster & Ale House, Sundrenched, Fishnet Cafe, Bailey Island General Store, and just a short drive away from other great local eats. Spend your days lounging on the sunlit deck watching the lobster boats pass by or go on a nearby adventure. Just make sure you make it back in time for the glorious sunsets over the sound.

Inside the cottage are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a twin trundle (twin on top and a twin pull-out underneath), a full bathroom with stall shower, fully stocked kitchen, and a living room area with a loveseat, two chairs and a large flat screen TV. For additional comfort, the cottage offers heat pumps with A/C for hot summer days. Outside there is an elevated deck with a picnic table, umbrella, and two Adirondack chairs, and a yard area.

Experience Maine, the way life should be, at Sea Ledge South and it will surely beckon you back for years to come!

Please note- While it offers everything you need, the bathroom is quite small with a stall shower and if you are concerned about the space or comfort, please talk to our team. For kayak access, we would recommend launching from Garrison Cove, just down the road.

**The pictured stairs to the water (in aerial shots) are no longer accessible due to the January 2024 storms. Due to their steep nature, the association has chosen not to rebuild.**

We had a wonderful time enjoying the view and quiet time for reading books. The house is small, but worked well for us. I would definitely rent the house again.

Outstanding cottage in the heart of Bailey Island! Everything was spotless upon arrival, and the check-in process was seamless. The owners were wonderfully helpful and made communication effortless. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need to prepare meals.The back porch is the true highlight, overlooking the bay with absolutely breathtaking sunsets.The location proximity is also fantastic, just a 15 min walk to Cookā€™s Lobster House for dinner and 30 min walk to Lands end gift shop!Overall, I couldnā€™t recommend this property more. Donā€™t hesitate to book it!

It was quiet , peaceful, quick drive to everything. We would recommend highly! We may even go back in the future. The only suggestion was to cut the brush that is very overgrown so it would not impede part of the view.

Lovely location

We stayed at Sea Ledge South 9/7/2023 to 9/14/2023. The location is so nice. Beautiful water views with working lobster boats right off shore. The cottage has a very well equipped kitchen and tasteful coastal decor. The beds are comfortable as is the living room furniture. Bailey Island is such a nice place to visit and this cottage was perfect for the two of us.

Perfection

We love escaping to Maine from the August heat in Maine. This house is perfect. Incredible sunset views and well appointed with everything you could possibly need (including a legit Lobster steamer pot!). Bailey island is a special place and we will be back.

Lovely cottage

The house is lovely and very well equiped. The location is great. There was the smell of of some kind of finish on new furniture along with dampness was difficult for one guest. The bathroom shower should be replaced

Beautiful view clean comfortable lodging

We very much enjoyed staying here. Loved the deck and view as well as view from living room window. The place was immaculate and well provisioned: all the kitchen dnd dining room equipment you might want. The bed was comfortable. We could hear the surf at night and enjoyed the sunsets. It was a nice quiet location and we loved Bailey's Island. Walks nearby. The shower is small. We didn't mind.

Very cozy cottage

Pristine, charming, well-equipped cottage with wonderful sunset views over the bay. The bedrooms are quite small but comfortable. We used the second bedroom as a changing room. The bathroom is more like a "head." Very squeezy and you'll need to hold your breath to fit in the shower. Note: The stairs down to the shore are closed due to storm damage. We wish we had been informed of this. That said, we loved our stay here and had excellent communications with the owners. Kudos especially to the housekeeping staff...the place was immaculate!

Stunning Views

For the most part, the cottage was just as photographed. The wraparound deck offers stunning views. The kitchen provided everything needed for preparing any meal. The bed was very comfortable. My only recommendation is that the property owners upgrade the shower to provide more room (very tight squeeze) andā€”even more importantā€”install a single shower head that provides ample hot and cold water all in one. The two separate shower heads (one for hot and one for cold) were not in synch and ultimately one could only use one or the other. Beyond that, my stay was pleasurable.

10/10 Would stay again myself however...

LOVED my little house on the water! It was the perfect size and everything was just what I needed. I will 100% be staying there again on any future visits. That being said, the bathroom would not be ideal for anyone in the 6' range. I am 5'6" and was a little cramped. I imagine anyone taller or who has claustrophobia would not be super pleased. I doubt they would be able to do anything different without MAJOR reconstruction so it is what it is for the size they had to work with. It was totally fine for me and my niece who came to spend the night from the local college.

Everything was as described and it was perfect for the two of us who were there. The only drawback was that a storm had taken out the stairway that provided direct access to the water. I was notified of this ahead of arrival, but it would have been nicer to have been able to get to the water directly from the house. (A small rebate due to the inability to do that would have been nice too.) Hopefully it will be repaired soon.
